Great venue for Improv and plays. Great seating in an intimate atmosphere
I have seen many shows here. It's a great venue, with super friendly staff. It's not a upscale theater of course, but great considering the tickets and location
Source is a great venue with a ton of variety in what they have on stage. Im a particular fan of the WIT program - it has an amazing range of different improv shows and a bunch of them are free so it makes a good date night :)
#inseries. From U Street To the Cotton Club is a great show, and The Source Theater is in a great neighborhood!
Great staff, nice little house, excellent performance! I was seated under the stairs, though, and someone was tromping up and down during the show.
Source is an intimate theater located around U Street. I've been here a few times now for an improv tournament and I like the coziness of it. Although there aren't a lot of seats, the seats are at least comfortable and there is ample leg room. There aren't a lot of bathrooms however (only 2 stalls for women and 1 single bath for men/women), so be prepared to wait a while if you're male.
Go to their improv shows, especially the Harold nights where it's free improv and a donation. Great venue, wonderful people.
A lively local theatre with great independent offerings.
Great theatre, amazing how you can get up close and feel like the stage is within reach. So great!
Why is it so friggin hard to find the telephone #? It should be in plain sight!
Nice intimate venue. Seen several improv shows there and enjoyed them. The seating is a bit uncomfortable though. Serves beer and wine and a few snacks in the lobby.
Went to an improv comedy night here on a first date and it was amazing! Very interactive with the audience as well! Had a really good time!
I went to a great comedy show here for an improv class
This is a great, small, theatre venue. Great location with restaurants and coffee within the block. Beer and wine available at venue. Constellation Theatre is based there and they consistently do amazing work.
A nice little theatre. I saw it in a configuration for improv comedy. Acoustics are good and they use bleacher like risers so everyone gets a good view.
Best black box theater in NW DC. So glad it is there.
Fresh intimate improv.fun and engaging. I'll be back soon!
Can't speak for their events, as I haven't been to one yet, but Szu-han and CulturalDC did me a big favor in fixing a payments issue and I appreciate this, they should be recognized for it. Thanks.
We saw a performance of Madame Butterfly. It was spectacular. As a trained opera singer, I was blown away by the talent in this production. The theater also made special accommodations for our party. I was very thankful. I'll definitely be back to Source.
Great space for performing art. Easy to find off the street. Little parking in the area, only street.
Black-box theatre on 14th near U st. Was there for the 2017 summer Source Festival. Attended three evenings of plays. Found discount tickets online.
A very intimate and " up close and personal" experience. Easy access by public transportation and many parking garages in the vicinity. A must see, if only for the unique setting.
Wonderful guest companies and occasionally had seen very talented performances. Last one of Master and Margarita was absolutely amazing adaptations of the hardest novels to do a theater adaptation. Other times with other productions can be hit or miss.. overall a good neighborhood theater over many years. Friendly staff.
I came with a friend last night to the opening of The Cole Porter Review
which was delightful in every sense. It began 40 minutes late as we waited
for latecomers in a bus. There wasn't a disgruntled mummer in the audience and
when 20 older people filed in, some in motorized chairs or on walkers., there was actual applause.
The theater staff handled this situation so expertly, thoughtfully and with genuine care and good
humor that the episode became part of the production. 'The show must go on' and it did with great
enthusiasm, marvelous voices and creative narrative and staging. Applause all round.
