Many moons ago,, I spent years on this campus and I absolutely loved it.

Looking at the band in uniform, I recall all the days of parking and walking across the street to the Coliseum. So many great memories, especially the rivalry with UCLA.

With 9/11 passing, as I think of all the nights when I was going to school in NY and leaving the library at midnight walking back to my dormitory, there wasn't the same feeling as being on the campus of USC and Doheny Library. The campus at USC has changed tremendously as has the surrounding community with apartments, retail shops and parking structures, but the spirit has remained the same of 'excellence' and diversity.

Recently wanting to pursue a hobby in depth, I wondered how I would go about this. Then it occurred to me that there is the Continuing Education group. UCLA is an option, but the good memories at USC prevails.

Many good memories still lingers on, and looking at photos taken at the World Trade Center just before my roommate and I tried to get a flight to visit her sister in Washington, D.C., we learned what a hometown feeling really was all about. With our one medium piece of luggage each (there wasn't the small overheard dimension pieces as we have today) we tried to get a taxi, and not one was willing to pick us up. We had always traveled by subway underground so the taxi ordeal was different being above ground. Some limo driver saw two students being passed up repeatedly and offered us a ride to the airport. Now, that was a real thrill in one of those long limos. He told us what I still think is quite funny. He said taxi drivers wanted to pick up people (men) in suits with briefcases because that is where the real tips came in, not from two little obvious students. What a nice guy. Street Sense 101.

I think of all these good places and a campus environment with memories as I think of our library system and the Central Library. An education is at everyone's fingertips and we meet so many interesting people along the way.

This beautiful building hosts the USC Admission Center, and is very nice, with a large circular waiting room. The tour guides are quite friendly and very knowledgable about the school - providing excellent insight.

Pro tip - directly outside the Admission Center is a large courtyard, complete with WiFi and a lovely fountain. It's a great place to sit and relax while you wait for a tour to wrap up!
