I came with a friend last night to the opening of The Cole Porter Review
which was delightful in every sense. It began 40 minutes late as we waited
for latecomers in a bus. There wasn't a disgruntled mummer in the audience and
when 20 older people filed in, some in motorized chairs or on walkers., there was actual applause.
The theater staff handled this situation so expertly, thoughtfully and with genuine care and good
humor that the episode became part of the production. 'The show must go on' and it did with great
enthusiasm, marvelous voices and creative narrative and staging. Applause all round.
