The best in Nantucket for oysters and drinks in the harbor
noisy bar crowd. expensive mediocre food. had better breaded halibut at Long John Silver!
Great views. The menu has amazing influences from the south of Spain and Morocco. Get a drink at the bar if you cannot reservations and get some Oyster!
A bit overpriced but has a interesting menu and good service.
spectacular location, ambiance, cuisine & staff ! it's become our tradition when on-island to finish each evening at the back bar.
Great food, wine, cocktails and the raw bar is amazing
Absolutely fabulous service, food, location.
Can't be beat!
Awful hostess, made a reservation 3 weeks ahead . We requested a great view table and instead shoved into a corner with zero view and seats higher than table. Oysters were great but so many restaurants have incredible oysters. We left after our one drink, cucumber martini was the only plus. Don t waste your money until they have better management !
The best lobster roll I had on Nantucket. Hands down! Connecticut style versus New England style.
Great food and AMAZING atmosphere on the water for enjoying some food or drinks. Expensive but worth it
Amazing food and Amazing Location. Awesome oysters and the catch of the day was one of the best dishes I ever had! Worth every penny!
Expensive restaurant but don t even have wi-fi. Cocktails taste bad, oysters are just ok
Awesome waterfront oyster bar and chic restaurant. Back bar is great for night time bar, also has outside dining in the front.
Ugh. The menu depletes each year. Great location but the menu is awful. If you dont like oysters or clams or mayo and so sick of chowder, good luck.
Sad. Great locale but was embarrassed when we raved and took our friends.
Abcde. Your choices of food. What happened to mussels? Fish and chips?
Just go for a cocktail and move on.
With a menu this expensive, doesn't quite get that fifth star in my opinion, but the food is superb. My biggest issue was the small portions, but service was attentive and polite.
This place is possibly my favourite spot on the island. Went twice this trip.
Interesting menu replete with great seafood options. Fried whole belly clams are awesome. Every single thing exceeded expectations. Even the chicken was amazing. Can't wait to go back.
Not worth the money. We were "advised" the table was reserved after us so we shouldn't take too long, which is very annoying when you sit in a restaurant charging you premium prices. The food was good, but nothing special. Certainly wouldn't go back.
Cru might have the best lobster rolls ever. Great oysters & clams. Lively, busy restaurant right on the wharf.
Amazing location and the food is very fresh / costal. A bit pricey even for Nantucket.
Great bartenders. Perfect location. Good food. Always struggle with host/ess friendliness though. Is it just me? I want smiles whenever i drop a c note or two.
Great energy, if populated by pink and green wearing Chads and Beckys and their parents. Fun bar for a drop in, good outdoor dining. I'll be back.
We were sitting at a great table with a Nantucket breeze. The appetizers were great (highly recommend the oysters). However, the chicken however was dry and way overpriced for what was served. The drinks were weak and a little weird.
This place is obviously on the pricier side given its location but it was definitely worth every penny. The oysters were fresh and delicious and they had a great variety of local and regional oysters. The tuna crudo was also pretty amazing. It s pretty awesome as well to get to see your oysters chucked in front of you up at the bar. The craft cocktail I tried was also probably the best I had on my week long trip to the Cape and Islands.
Located at the end of the pier in Nantucket. We had salads and calamari. Way above average - the desert was a lemon pound cake with lemon sorbet - really good. I would go back for a full meal.
Place is fantastic. It was an amazing welcome to us, first comers to an island.
Love this place!!!!! Great bar, great food, great view. It's a must when in town
Great Service, Good food, Nice View. We had lunch, it was a bit pricey.
Just as phenomenal as I remembered. Cru is perhaps one of my top 5 favorite restaurants in the world. Chic and boujee with mismatched upholstered chairs in stripes of yellow or felt blue, all seated up to tables overlooking the wharf. Perfect drink menu, extensive wine list, impeccable service.
But the food? Oh. My. God. Best lobster roll I've ever had. Seriously. Buttery brioche blanketing large claws lightly dressed and topped with pickled onions. The crab cocktail is also out of this world and a must order.
Thanks for continuing to drag me back to Nantucket from LA year after year Cru, I love you.
Cru Restaurant, what can I say... Great Service, entertaining bar tenders who pay attention & the obvious place to be.
For some who say the food is over priced, I guess they don't know that they are in Nantucket & what I would say (a restaurant) full of ambiance, full of life & a staff who has a real concern for simply seeing you smile... can you place a price on that... Great place & I will be back tomorrow...
Oysters were delicious, and the service was wonderful! I would give this place a 4&1/2 stars, but I can only do 4 or 5 stars. The music was too loud, which made it difficult to have a conversation.
Very elegant and upscale. I didn't know about the back bar sitting area until we were leaving and had to go to the bathroom. Will definitely try it next time. It's not cheap though, but what is cheap on Nantucket anyway. We just had a couple of drinks and the seafood dip.
Excellent food in waterfront setting. Can be very energetic and expensive but worthwhile.
Had high hopes. Everyone talks about this place. Beautiful atmosphere. But unfortunately the food took forever to come out and was terrible. I can wait for good food but I waited for bad food. Friendly staff, nice if you want to come for a drink or two. But don't expect good food cause you ll be disappointed like we are
Stylish, contemporary waterfront location with comfy outdoor seating. Quick service, friendly, and host was very welcoming!
Literally the best lobster roll I've ever had. Now I know why every person I met on the island said to get the lobster roll.
Outsranding! tight seating, outstanding food. love the place.
Up market water front dinning and bars. Great cocktails
Atmosphere is very nice but food was not. Overpriced even for nantucket standards.
Nantucket's finest eating and drinking establishment! The design is perfectly paired with the surrounding environment. Everything at Cru is in perfect balance - friendly staff, amazing seafood, coastal ambiance, and elegant cocktails. Make sure you visit Cru every visit to Nantucket!
Love the location! The staff is amazing!!!! Rocco is THE BEST!!!! Cru never disappoints!! We love the cucumber slaw on the fried clams, very unique. The "Crucumber" drink is one of my favorites. Always a great time at Cru!!!
3 1/2 sticks of butter in the lobster roll and 3 to 4 pieces of lobster.
Great location but always slammed. Hard to just have a relaxing experance regardless of if you have a table or are at the bar. This may be an attraction for some, personally for me not so much.
One of the best meals I've had on or off the cape. Zach, our sommelier helped us pick out an excellent wine pairing.
Great vibe going on here. Had the lobster roll, naturally, and it was good! The oysters looked amazing. Cru has a great thing going on-will be back for sure. Sat at the bar and made chit chat with the other yachties.
One of the best meals of my life. The oysters platter with crab & lobster salad was divine. The entrees were fresh and flavorful. Our entire party raved about the food & you can't beat the stunning views. We went on a weeknight in the summer and the place was packed.
Expensive but excellent (local) food, location, and atmosphere!
Four of us who enjoy good food visited Nantucket and wanted some good seafood by the water. We went to Cru Oyster Bar since it looked inviting, was right on the water and attractively appointed. The decor was very nice and bright and the service was good. The food however was, in short, terrible. I ordered the soft shell crab sandwich. It came out battered and deep fried and honestly I could not tell what was inside, whether it was crab, fish or nothing. All I tasted was thick, deep fried batter. I don't even remember seeing that it was deep fried and battered on the menu. The bread was utterly tasteless. There was no saving grace to this dish. My husband and friend ordered the flounder sandwich which was on more tasteful bread, but although the sandwich looked large, there was one very small piece of fish on one side of the sandwich. The rest was filled with red cabbage. Needless to say, we were highly disappointed and left unsatisfied and taken advantage of. I don't often write reviews but I am so angered and disappointed about this meal that I made a special effort to do so. Until then, it had been a lovely day.
The crowded "it" place with the best view of Nantucket's yachts
Great place for lunch we enjoyed it here must be the best lobster roll in town .
Great atmosphere
I've traveled the world and eaten at thousands of restaurants, never have I had a worse meal or been treated so poorly as to write a review this bad...STAY AWAY FROM THIS TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
Oh my god! What a finding!
I had a unique an bizarre experience in this place on the labor weekend. Great music, atmosphere, music and energy!
I got connected with the vibes of some memories from Ibiza.
Food was also awesome. See the picture enclosed about the Steak sandwich and lobster roll.
Nice restaurant on the pier of nantucket. I did not have any food here. I only had drinks. I thought the Game Of Thrones themed cocktails were a neat idea. Drinks were good as were cocktails. Nice selection of beers. Atmosphere was interesting. Almost like a night club at times. Staff were friendly. If only it were a little warmer it would have been great to enjoy some time on their outdoor patio.
Cru...ahh the famous Cru. We were really excited to eat here from everything everyone told us, but I'm at about a 3.5 with Cru. For the prices that they are charging and for the wait times, I think everything was just okay.
First off, it's expensive as heck. Which is fine if the food is out of this world and if the service is incredible. But...neither of which we experienced. Maybe it was just a bad day for both, but I can only judge based on my experience not everyone else's reviews!
BTW if your server recommends the sparkling rose, just a heads up that it's $26 for a small glass.
It's a good place to go to for the 'scene' and the environment, so I don't regret going at all. Maybe next time we'll experience what everyone raves about.
This place is beautiful and the lobster is on point.
I spoke to many people on the island about where to go to get the best lobster roll since I thought it would be The food to get on the island. They recommended "The Cru". Go in the evening to get the hot version of their lobster roll. So good.
Best lobster roll and hush puppies around. Great cocktails and atmosphere. Always a must
The best bar in
Nantucket
Fabulous view. Our waitress gave us great seats. Overlooing the water.
Great Champagne and Oysters.
Stylish, contemporary waterfront location with comfy outdoor seating. Excellent drinks and atmosphere. Unfortunately, I didn't eat here so I can't comment in the food but it is a great stop while waiting for the ferry
Excellent service and quality food. Well serviced staff.
They had their EDM music cranked up so the place was very noisy. It eventually got turned down. The food was really good though
We had lunch outside and quite enjoyed our Cru experience. We started with an assortment of oysters, a shrimp cocktail, mimosas, and bloody marys. The shrimp were a bit overpriced and the bloody mary was a bit too spicy for my texan friend but otherwise, we were happy. I ordered a lobster roll for lunch and couldn't have been happier with my choice. Great views, nice spot to people watch.
Great location. Food was good enough. Drinks were a bit meh. Can't understand why we could only get reservations 21:30 and later... the place was half empty when we got there at 21:00.
Very well!
Cant beat the location.
Closed for the winter, Cru is the place for cocktails and seafood on Straight Wharf.
Food was ok, not the meal that I expected for the price
All in one: The scene, the food, the drink, the view and the people.
Great place to get a couple beers and apps during the day. Pulled pork sliders, lobster roll, blue crab cocktail were good but menu is way overpriced compared to all of the other great dining options within a quarter mile. You're paying for the location. Atmosphere is also a little pretentious.
