CRU Nantucket Review

Where is Ropewalk?!!! Stopped in to relive old times. What a mistake. $12.00 for a bar vodka drink.Bartender and waitresses were more interested in their social exploits than the customers. Is Nantucket now only for the rich and spoiled?!!! Such a shame!

Great raw bar and cocktails on the wharf. Beautiful setting!

Great outdoor area for cocktails and oysters/apps! Service was really good. The local oysters were delicious and ~$4. The outdoor area is covered with comfy seats. There are also two tops nearly on the water, beautiful.

AMAZING AMAZING views and equally as great food. Crab legs are a must - best I ever had. Salmon is perfection and the Crucumber cocktail is refreshing and strong. Oh and the lamb sliders are also insanely good. 5 stars+!!

We were psyched to try this new restaurant. Its a great location on a dock in the harbor. The new owners did substantial renovations. Honestly I was disappointed with the food and service. We each ordered a shrimp cocktail from the raw bar. It took 20 minutes to get the shrimp. Our dinners came out right after the shrimp was delivered. Dinners were nothing special, average at best. Crowded and very loud, could not hear server.

Good restaurant. Great service. Great location. Limited cocktail selection (which weren't particularly good). Nice ambience. Good but not great food. Definitely overpriced.

This place is amazing! I wanted to take the ice tea back home with me to Florida!!! The view is absolutely lovely and the food was perfect!! Have a Lobster Roll and iced tea and you will not be disappointed. We only wish that we could ve had wine like the tables next to us, but we were at a working lunch appointment.

The lobster roll (served hot) was amazing. The chef is a master baker so it was no surprise that the bun was perfect and such a treat. Pricey but worth it.

This place was awesome!! Went to Nantucket for the day and this was my favorite place. Dope location right at the end of the pier. Sat in the communal area by choice and it couldn't have been more fun spoke with multiple couples that I would never have met otherwise. Didn't eat but the drinks were phenomenal and I had one of the greatest cucumber based drinks I've ever had (The Crucumber). Had a blast was a little pricy but I mean cmon it's Nantucket lol so no biggie. Even the staff was beautiful! Def check this place out you won't regret it! - Scooby Baby

Cru was amazing! I visited a few weeks ago and had the most amazing lobster roll. The atmosphere reminds me of Malibu, CA. So awesome and the lobstahhh roll was to die for!

Let's say you're going to Nantucket for the first time and want to get a nice Seafood meal by the harbor when the very expensive Yachts are in Port. It is definitely a place to consider. The food is delicious and it is a very pleasant place. Be careful because the price tag is what you would expect. Nantucket is not a place for someone who is watching their budget. I think it is a nice event especially as a place to bring guests who have never seen the area. Elegant oyster bar with a waterfront view yes!

Fantastic raw bar, delicious colossal shrimp, and splendid vies of the water. What more can you ask for?

Fabulous views and great oysters and lobster rolls. A bit pricey, but we live it.

Overhyped, basic menu, tasteless food. Overpriced for no enjoyment. I myself like expensive restaurants but this one not worth it.

Super fun bar. Great cocktails. The staff was polite and had a really fun energy level all day. Would definitely go back!

Unatentive waiter and just ok overprt food. $20 kids pasta meal swimming in butter. Won't go back

The food was good, but my salad took forever. My entire party recieved their meals before I did. It wasn't until my party was finished eating when I recieved my salad.

My favorite spot on the island for an afternoon drink or a big group dinner. The perfect setting by the water and boats. It's a must try for anyone visiting Nantucket.

I am so disappointed I desperately wanted to try this place while on the Island. However, they only accept pick up orders from 12-5pm, when most people are at the beach or stuck in traffic jams. Due to the fact that their reservation list is booked months in advance, this policy needs to be changed!

This is a fantastic restaurant on the docks of Nantucket harbor overlooking the pier and the water. They have outdoor seating which is perfect for people watching and oceanviews! Cru have a wonderful menu and cocktails selections. The food is delicious, very gourmet and doesn't come cheap. Be prepared to pay. If you love oysters then you will love Cru. They have a wonderful oyster bar where you can watch the experts preparing and plating your oysters. After dinner take a stroll on the docks and check out the sailboats and the spectacular views. You can also check out the breathing sunset. Cru is a wonderful restaurant on the beautiful waterfront of Nantucket.

Great food, lovely atmosphere (lighting and interior decorating), but a big swing and a miss with the center high top table(s) and stools. If you have really skinny thighs and are wearing pants or a long skirt, it may not be an uncomfortable seating arrangement. Otherwise, ask to be seated elsewhere. It's all we could talk about-how uncomfortable the seating was. It s an attractive table and they are stylish stools, but the heights of the stool or the table do not work well together.

Definitely the must-go restaurant on Nantucket. We spent a week on the island and this was our favorite place. The oysters are incredible and the view is amazing.

Beautiful views right on the water,Me and my daughter got 2 colossal shrimp,2 small cups of white chowder, a small portion of fried calamari, and a bowl of greens and grains which I really enjoyed. This place is beautiful would go there again.

I had the burger. It's the most unusual burger I've ever eaten. Delicious.

We had the 5th bend oysters here, and they were fantastic! I never knew how much flavor a raw oyster could have. Our waitress was very helpful in suggesting her favorites, since we are from out of town and didn't know the different types. Although the oysters were fantastic, I found the rest of the menu to be a bit lacking. I got a lobster salad (arugula, quinoa, almonds and lobster). It was good but way too much after eating oysters to start. I wish they had more smaller dishes to supplement the oysters. My parents said their dishes (flounder sandwich and clam chowder) post oysters were good. It's probably one of the most expensive lunches I've ever eaten, but I would go back to just eat the 5th bend oysters.

Great location and nice Decor. Enjoyed the oysters, the entrees where just ok. We made reservations weeks ago. The main dining room was empty and they tried to seat us in the back bar in a crowded corner. We asked to be moved....strange experience. Go for a cocktail and leave.

Anyone who gives this 5 stars, has clearly never experienced a true 5 star restaurant. My family and I were told this was the best restaurant on the island so we made arrangements to make a reservation the week of our stay. We were shuffled to our table outside at a rickety wooden table, with dirty utensils on the ground beneath our table. Chairs were super uncomfortable. Wine selection was limited, and definitely not up to par with the price point. Best part was the seafood tower. Entrees were average at best. Would not recommend for dinner.

Our dinner was delicious and the ambiance was beautiful. However, I would have given 5 stars if it wasn t for our waiter who was not very nice. After waiting more than 30 minutes between our first course and entree, my husband politely asked our waiter if he would check on our entrees. His answer was brusque and inappropriate..... it s very busy, what do you want? After that, he never asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu or coffee. It was my birthday and I know my husband had made him aware before we sat down. Another woman had a birthday and was brought a small dessert with a candle and this waiter and several others sang happy birthday. For me, he just brought the little dessert....no singing...I guess we were being punished for asking him about our entree. On top of that, a 20% gratuity was already added to our bill. I have been to many restaurants and never had the gratuity added when there was only 2 people dining. We usually always give a 20% gratuity anyway, but in this case I don t think it was warranted. It was disappointing that such a lovely restaurant would allow this kind of reception from their waiter.
