Crowne Plaza Schiphol Review

Handy location, friendly people, pleasant ambiance.

I always go to this hotel as it makes me feel like home.
During the past year some rules changed and now the bikes are not free anymore but for rent.
Would be also great to see when the pool will be offered again.

Nothing special. Need improvement and a re innovation in every aspect.

Always pleasant, even if they are doing renovation work on various floors.

It is within walking distance from Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport.
There is almost nothing, including shops and fast food, so please do everything in the hotel.
The restaurant is open from morning until midnight so you won't have to worry about food.
There is also a souvenir shop (mainly goods) though it is small.
There are many things related to tulips.
Facilities and services are first-rate.
I can spend it comfortably.

Very far from the city and it was very pricy. If you are looking for a airport hotel stay at the Sheraton which is attached to the airport. This airport is 20 min from airport. Staff was helpful helpful though.

Very nice stay. Disappointed that lounge access was denied as a spire elite customer. Evidently new welcome package.

Although the location is not within the city centre, it has offered a comfortable and relax place for the guests to rest.

The room is comfortable and clean.But one of the shuttle bus driver is not very nice.When the seats are not enough,the driver ask us to leave the bus because we need his "permission".We are traveling with tired kids and the hotel shuttle bus information showed no reservation needed.Why the other customers waiting after us don't need to leave the bus and ask for permission? My English maybe poor, but I can tell the difference between polite conversation and rude dictate.
(After return to the hotel, we told the hotel manager our feelings. Fortunately,a gentleman who witnessed it and stood out for us proving that we didn't cut the line and we didn't say anything before the drive ask us to leave the bus. Hotel manager responded quickly and politely.I won't say the driver ruined my holiday,but he did change my impression about holland.)

Room was comfortable enough and quite spacious but the bed was too hard and the room was not clean enough for my taste. Food was OK but service in the restaurant was very slow. They try to present it as a posh hotel but it's really nondescript. OK if you need to stay in the Schiphol-Rijk area but definitely not if you are looking to visit the city centre.

Slow check in, slow service everywhere, stayed here for a flight cancellation and they tried to not tell anyone about the airline providing meals. Did say in the restaurant to go and sit in the back as paying customers go in the front and a horrid buffet offered. Once we complained this was rectified. Rooms lovely and beds great!

Though its in suburb, those like to be away from noise this is best option. Near to the train station. Highly recommend budgeted hotel in Amsterdam.

Nice enough. Shuttle bus is a plus. Will probably choose a hotel closer to the airport next time.

To be clear, it is NOT in Amsterdam. It is in Hoofddorp, which is a city next to the airport. Getting to Amsterdam's center isn't hard, there's a shuttle to the airport, and it's 15 minutes from there. The restaurant is standard issue - be prepared for "Dutch" customer service, which means waiting a while, having to pay your bill at the front desk because they don't take MasterCard in the restaurant!

Waited 40mins for shuttle from airport Breakfast for two was 54euro which is quite frankly a rip off!

Very friendly staff, clean rooms. Good wifi connection in the room. Beds (double) are on the small side. Cozy bar and lobby. Recommended.

Great hotel but really ridiculous that you have to pay to park. 18 euros per night. This while there is plenty of parking space on the grounds of the hotel.

Several business guests of ours have already used this hotel. There is always something that made my guests dissatisfied. Sloppy mistakes are sometimes made, but most of the comments I got back are about the staff.
Example 1: Guests are not properly informed at check-in about the security deposit that will be charged to their credit card.
Example 2: You can leave your luggage after check-out and pick it up later in the day before going to the airport ... but you run the risk of your suitcase getting lost ... and the stress starts to rise because you time at the airport.
The worst thing, I think, is that if something goes wrong, they don't apologize.

The hotel isn t very close to the airport, it takes a 10-15min bus ride (once you figure out where to get the bus from) and there s nothing around the hotel to do. But the hotel is excellent, staff are super, the restaurant is good and rooms are large and in good condition.

good and clean rooms, .. neat service, ... speed in the restaurant for the consumption of a dinner may be a little faster

Very nice, comfortable room, walls are a little thin (gentleman next door had a cough which kept me awake) but well furnished and okay food

Not impressed with their complimentary tea. We had to buy milk for our tea. My friend jewellery and charger was taken from her room. Tiles in the bathroom needs more attention and toilet Bowl not clean

Like the place. Close to the airport and close to the train to centeral. Their airport shuttle is great and on time.

The staff are friendly and polite however the hotel is dated and sub-standard.
My office made a 2 night booking which was automatically cancelled by the hotel without notification. I turned up at 8pm only to be told that they didn't have a booking or a room for me. They were kind enough to find another hotel for me for one night.
Following night my office made another booking for one night. This time they did have a room - however turning on the shower and getting ready to get in the shower, I saw that the shower was bath/shower was blocked and water was not going anywhere. Hotel tried to unblock it but couldn't and despite this I had to make repeated requests to to be moved to an alternative room.
The decor is so very old, tried and dated and really needs an update.

We stayed here due to a flight delay with KLM. After a pleasant welcome, it quickly went downhill due to the discovery of bedbugs. Whilst the manager was apologetic and proactive by putting us in another room, it should have been picked up by housekeeping as they were all over the bed. We later saw housekeeping near the room with new bedsheets which made me wonder if they understood that room really needed to be quarantined and treated by an exterminator.

Comfortable hotel, a short shuttle bus ride away from the main airport terminal. Rooms are large and clean, though somewhat old. Friendly staff.

Good for stopover, quite area and relatively near to the airport, with free shuttle. But thats it.

Large and well equipped rooms, but a bit dated. Clean and quiet. Decent restaurant. A 10 min walk to a nice Dutch village with multitude of shops and restaurants.

Great crowne plaza for a quick stay in Schipol. Very close to the train so moving around is easy. Bit on the pricey side though

Nice hotel, good rooms, Free shuttle to and from the airport. Front desk clerk Elizabeth has some attitude problems or maybe she had a bad day that day. Breakfast is good. They will let you store your luggage free for few days if you are traveling to a different destination and don't want to drag your heavy luggages around. The Italian driver is very jovial and loads/unloads luggage for customers and greets and hugs them. Don't forget to tip him .See his attached photo. Less than 10 mins to hotel from Airport , The shuttle runs every 40 minutes.

Excellent service at the bar by Thomas, what a pleasure to be served with such a smile and passion! His enthusiasm is contagious. Also excellent service by Patricia during the night, I only asked for a dental kit but she was so friendly and smily, loved it! Made my night. Very nice check-in also (forgot the name) by I think the supervisor (grey suit) he was so friendly. I love the little food/drinks/non-food items shop that's a great idea. I did not eat in the restaurant because there are barely any vegetarian or vegan options (just a filled pumpkin and pasta or curry) but nothing that sounds really good or special. This can be improved. Prices of the drinks are attractive. The blue lights on the tables are horrendous though just like the menu design. The room was very comfortable just need some power plugs or USB ports next to the bed. Thanks to all the wonderful staff!

It's really close to the airport and they provide free shuttle service, which was really helpful.The hotel was nice and rooms were spacious and clean. As we were travelling for business, this hotel was perfect and met our expectations.

Night in Amsterdam due to missed connection: Hotel that respects the canons of a 4 *. Attention to the dinner included in the voucher: soup + penne alla bolognese: that's all, but it is not the fault of the hotel but of KLM.
However, spacious and comfortable rooms, slightly dated.

Crown plaza hotel in Hoofddorp is in urgent need of renovation of the rooms and corridors. Value for money there are certainly better hotels in the area. The beds were a big plus for me personally. Very good solid mattress for a good night's sleep. The shuttle service is also a plus.

Located about 5 minutes drive from Schiphol airport. Quite conveniently located. For this reason it looks like a popular choice for many Airline flight crews. Reservation was in order and was able to check in quickly. The room was comfortable although on the smaller side. 2 people with luggage was a bit of a squeeze.
Nice Espresso coffee maker which I used.
Bed was comfortable with enough pillows. Temperature in the room was conducive to a good nights rest.
Bathroom was well appointed. Nice shower, although the knob the switch to the overhead shower is a bit hard to pull on when your fingers are wet and slippery. Nice set of amenities.
The hotel is a bit old and tired looking and badly in need of a face lift.
As a Platinum member I was not allowed use of the Lounge. Apparently they only offer that to Spire members. Anyway, they only had drinks (no food) in the lounge which I was not interested in.

We stayed overnight in connection with our flight, had been canceled. The food was miserable, but the service from the staff was fine. They were incredibly serviceminded

Good hotel! Clean, big comfy beds, decent location. BUT the closes restaurant is 1km away, everything closes early and nothing to do in the immediate area.

Free shuttle to and fro to Schipol really helps in saving transportation costs.. Very nice rooms

The arrival at the hotel was pleasant and the staff friendly but that was the only good thing.
There was a lot of lint on the bed even though the bed was freshly made. In the bathroom there were some broken tiles that were temporarily glued together with silicone.
Some sockets do not work at all and others only when the light is switched on.
The cleanliness of the room wasn't that good either, as the lamp switches were completely on.
The pool signposted on a screen in the entrance area, which was also on the Internet, no longer exists.

This hotel is one of the classiest for the price range. The staff was very courteous and efficient. The rooms were large and very comfortable. The shuttle service to the airport was an added bonus. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who visits Amsterdam.
