Crested Butte Mountain Resort Review

Punchy climbs, great folks, but there could be a smidge more signage on the trails.

Awesome resort with incredible views and great terrain.

Awesome to see this mountain from the road and the lifts! The staff is very friendly and the whole place has a very laid-back feel. There are plenty of wide, groomed runs with an exciting mingle of meandering and aggressive slopes. Plus, there's plenty of extreme terrain up top and plenty of tame terrain for beginners, including 3 levels of terrain park. Definitely worth a visit and an overnight stay!!

Great destination ski area. Stayed in the town and relied on the excellent free shuttle to go to the ski area. Lots of snow helped make for a fine ski trip.

Crested Butte is a perfect ski mountain. The right mix of accommodations right near the lifts. A smaller ski resort with a great town vibe!

Neat runs, although the mountain can be difficult to navigate. Mixture of newer high speed lifts and older two seaters. I didn't spend much time at the base area, but it looked neat-plenty of food and merchandise options.

A great family winter destination for skiers of all levels. Lots of choices for lodging and ski trails. Very friendly staff Operating the lifts. Be sure to check out the ski school. One can fly into Gunnison, Co and take a shuttle into the town or the mountainside village for lodging. You can also easily rent a car at the airport. Lots of dining choices in the town of Crested Butte.

This is a great resort! Stayed at the lodge, nice large rooms, friendly service, super convenient, good mountain, not crowded, nice local town! Go!

The last true Colorado ski town. Great selection of trails from greens to some very challenging blacks. Good restaurants and ski shops at the base. Family friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend!

I ve skied here a number of times. It s fun and has a lot of advanced terrain. Visited for New Years on the most recent trip. They have a good fireworks show on the mountain and a trail of lights that starts near the top and weaves its way down the mountain. Super fun!

Had a good time despite this year being a low snow year. The grooming here is great, which made for a pleasant ski day.

First time here. Skiid Sat and Sun. Small mountain but I enjoyed it very much. Lots of extreme stuff for my husband and enough intermediate terrain for me.

Overpriced for the amount of lifts and terrain. Definitely an aggressive mountain to ski - enjoyed that part.

Summers used to be a ghost town up here. Not anymore. The lifts are running so you can hike or bike the mountain, excellent bars and restaurants are open, disc golf, free live music. Lots of activities for kids or adults.

Very odd situation. I bought two College Quad Cards at the Warren Miller Movie in Boulder. However, when I went to pick them up in the ticket office, my name was not in their system. I showed them the paperwork which I left the movie with, but that didn't have the information they needed. Turns out my credit card was never charged. So, I didn't lose the money, but didn't end up with tickets. The only explanation I've been able to come up with is the sales rep at the movie didn't transfer my information from the paper to the computer, and somehow didn't run my card.

Staff was very friendly and went above and beyond. Amenities were great. Only issue was that you couldn't get room service for breakfast.

What can I say? Love this place, hope I can retire nearby. Great snow, great terrain, great little town, and most of all, great people.

Snow is great and the trails are good, gorgeous views from the top!

Great ski experience in one of the yet to be discovered part of Colorado.

Small town ski resort, used to have a small town feel, even up on the runs. With Vail Corps acquisition of CBMR the ski area has a more "Breckenridge" feel now, less of the cool little ski area vibe.

The skiing at Crested Butte is first rate; varied terrain and great snow!

The slopes were amazing, well groomed wide trails, a wide variety of trails, with short lift lines.

The trails aren't totally blown out yet, so that's a plus. Beyond that it's the same as it always is. Very fun.

Great ski resort, not too crowded and the runs are very fun. There is a range of runs for all skill levels, awesome place to ski/snowboard. I hope to be back soon.

Great staff and the customer service I experienced was to notch. Great ski mountain. My favorite place to ski for sure.

What a mountain! Absolutely gorgeous and what a quaint little town.

Amazing Ski area and Terrian but they are getting rid of local business on the resort such Bakery which is a Staple for the locals in the Valley. As someone who lives in the Valley I hope they keep the incredible local feeling you have as soon as you on to the mountain. Definitely one of the best places to Ski in North America.

Absolutely beautiful place to be especially at Christmas time! Snowboarding, skiing, shopping, dinning, a winter wonderland for sure!!

We've been everywhere in Colorado but we have ove coming back to Crested Butte. The runs are wide open and the lift lines are short even during the holidays.

THE BEST PLACE EVER!! I ve been going to Created Butte since I was 1 and I love it here!!

One of the best ski areas I have been to ( boarding/ skiing for 20 years as of this post) the people holding are great and the parties are one of a kind! Summer or winter when you come here yout ate treated with respect and like a part of a family.

Crested Butte is a great place to go skiing! The mountain isn't huge, but it isn't as crowded as other places.

This is my favorite ski area in Colorado. Awesome town and awesome skiing. Plenty to do even if the snow isn't perfect.

Our group had the time of our lives at Crested Butte! It's far enough from Denver to not be as crowded as a lot of the other resorts. The snowboarding was perfect, despite the absence of gondolas. If you're planning a ski trip in CO, you will not be disappointed.

Really nice place for family to enjoy some of the most spectacular views in the area. The base has some really nice restaurants and really cool stores. Take the loft to the top and it will blow you away. If you are able, walk up the trail, a rather strenuous hike to see some stunning views of Crested Butte city and the surrounding valley. Well worth the trip!
