Palo Alto in general is beautiful but Creekside Inn takes it to another level. The Inn is made up of a number of different buildings that are separated by gorgeous landscaping including flowering trees, manicured shrubs and streams in various configurations.
The room I stayed in extended to a patio through a sliding glass door that overlooks a stream. There is nothing like falling asleep to the sound of a babbling brook that looks and sounds like something out of a children's book.
The room was clean and the staff was very polite and accommodating. The technology in use is beyond any hotel I have ever seen, including a tablet in every room, a direct HDMI hookup to the TV, and more outlets and USB power connections than you will ever need.
Very clean, quiet and very convenient.
Highly recommended
Very clean boutique hotel. The staff seemed pretty friendly. Nice bright rooms. Quiet stay
Decent hotel, good customer service, convenience store on premise. No continent breakfast, but a few pastries and coffee in the morning.
Friendly staff, great property and price, great amenities
Very economical, but of very good quality. Location was very convenient to go to Stanford and downtown Palo Alto. Everything was clean and had a peaceful atmosphere. 5/5
Best place to stay up late working and the atmosphere is great
It has what I want from a motel. Large rooms, cheap, clean, not noisy.
There was a weird mild smell in my room but nothing too bad.
Clean rooms, no water bottles though and the heater makes a little noise at random intervals of time
Cozy rooms, good location, shuttle service is great to have
Friendly service and clean rooms. Also looks like a cabin from the outside
Very nice experience, very comfortable stay. The danishes they served in the morning especially were divine, still can't forget them.
Is something away from the action. Equipment is neat. The Italian next door is average
Clean room and friendly front desk service. Lots of space and a comfy bed too. Also, my room was very quiet.
Wasn't what I expected for the price I paid. It was better! Nice clean rooms, comfy bed, and the the inn looks newly renovated.
Kind staff.
All the amenities I needed for my one night stay.
They have these tablets in each room that seem like a novel idea but I hardly touched mine.
Great place to stay.
The place was awesome. The room was clean, big, and comfortable. The grounds are really attractive to walk around. The restaurant had a delicious chicken pasta. Would happily stay here again. Just get breakfast somewhere else, it's very light and "continental".
The room was clean and quiet. I had the creek on my back porch, lovely.
The rooms are very nice. The location is very close to Stanford and the service is extremely good. There is a pool and the installations are very nice
More like a motel. Supposed to be non smoking and my room smells of smoke. Staff is nice. Shuttle drivers are so helpful.
Beautiful woodsy location with fountains, bridges, benches, and tables throughout. Very relaxing. Friendly staff and immaculate rooms with all the amenities. We hiked the nearby Stanford Dish trails and found a lot of good dining options nearby. Highly recommend!
Nice little cheap hotel with free parking. Well kept with nice refurbished toilet. Some small details they need to work on though. (eg. Provide only 1 soap for body but leave out the soap for the sink. SD TV only.)
Check in was a breeze. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The service is top notch. Keep it up guys!
Very tranquil. Staff were terrific and helpful. Free parking, swimming pool, access to coin operated washer & dryer. Tbere is also a deli store on the premises that is absolutely good and reasonably priced. Centrally located and safe.
Super friendly check in. The room is exceptionally clean and comfortable. Way above our expectations. We would be more than Happy to return here for another stay. Very nice property and staff. Wish I could give a ten or more stars. Beds are so Very Comfortable. Easily tops higher end properties as far as I'm concerned.
I am so disappointed! I booked through Expedia. My daughter and I were going to drive up and see Standord on our way to Seattle
(Fly home to Orange County). Reservation was for 1 night (8/19/16). It was $147. I booked through Expedia. Our plans changed..Iwe had to fly both ways...cancelled 2nd hotel and car
(Thru Expedia..full refund no problem)called Expedia on 8/9/16 I tried to cancel reservation
For 10 DAYS AWAY. I spoke with Expedia agent
Who called Creekside. He said the general manager was out.. And normally it would be non refundable..but I would receive an email in 24 hours and he was confident they would refund! I WAS SO HAPPY AND GRATEFUL!!
No email.. When I inquired today I was told
"It was such a good rate that they can't refund.
I understand the policy but WHY WAS I TOLD
IT WOULD BE REFUNDED??! I tried to get the name or way to document what I was told
I was told "Don't worry Pam.. I am confident you will receive confirmation email and be refunded." I feel bad writing a 1 star review
(I'm sure it's a nice hotel)..I'm just SOOOO
DISAPPOINTED:(.
This is a hotel that just makes you feel good while staying there. The outdoor space of the grounds is wonderful with plenty of places to sit and just relax and meditate. There's even a hammock available. There's a saltwater pool that's perfectly heated with a privacy fence surrounding it. The room had everything that we needed, complete with a fridge, coffeemaker, complimentary robes for using when you go to the pool. The bathroom is modern with a glass enclosed shower. Our room had a patio there are also balconies. there's a market right next door where you can pick up anything that you want and there's a restaurant that's feels like part of the hotel that has great drinks and great food. This is a perfect location in Palo Alto right down the street from Stanford University. We would definitely stay here again.
This place was an unexpected gem! The room I stayed in was freshly renovated, like you could still smell the wood glue from the furniture (not overpowering, I liked it! )
The staff is friendly, the wifi works. Otherwise its pretty much no frills but the best deal I could find and I'd stay there if it cost significantly more.
Nicely secluded layout that gets out off the busy street. Rooms are spacious and well kept with a nice surrounding area of you want to get out of your room for a bit.
Great spot, quiet location! There is a little upkeep taking place around the pool area, some parking spots are occupied by those items. Staff is friendly, hotel guests (that I've encountered are quiet, polite).
In town for a workshop at Stanford University. Inn is just a little further than we anticipated, but they have a free shuttle!
This motel style hotel is delightful from the moment you walk into the amazing smelling lobby. The grounds are adorable, and the amenities are top notch. The reasons I am not giving ot five stars: our room did smell a bit musty and could stand some of the delicious smell they piped into the lobby. Also, housekeeping was a bit of a disaster - I think because they were over eager. It would be great if they didn't knock before 9am and also if they fully respected the privacy signs.
Great clean and spacious rooms, beautiful creek in the back and seating areas, great shower and amenities. Located minutes from University Ave and shopping, restaurants, cafe areas. Awesome stay for the price.
Details are amazing, I know it sounds strange but Creekside uses the most refreshing soap I've ever seen. I want to find out where they get the soap. <3
Nice staff. Nice place to stay. Walls are really thin, neighbors were really loud. Other then that no issues. Nice little market right next door and the food was really good
Renovated rooms are nice, but there's too much ambient noise.
Nice hotel but no elevator in the of my room. I was dependent upon staff. Close to the university.
Loved the room and the bed was wonderful. The staff was amazing knowledgeable and welcoming..
I found it to be average hotel. Nothing stood out to me and my room was in a bad spot which might have lowered the rating but I am not sure how other rooms would have been.
Restaurant was good. Bed was super comfy. WiFi was fast. Would stay again.
We are from Upstate New York. My sister had to have major brain surgery at Stanford Medical. All of the workers at the Creekside Inn were so friendly and understanding of our needs. My sister has a 2 yr. old little boy and they all just loved him. The property is well maintained and the plant life is beautiful. The Driftwood deli / grocery store that is on the property makes delicious sandwiches and salads and the staff are all very friendly. Once again the store and the property are very clean . My family highly recommends both businesses and our stay here was a very pleasant one.
The hotel was quaint, but the level of service was exceptional and the furnishings were updated. They kept the pool warm, which was really nice. They are also located right in the middle of the Palo Alto action. On top of that, the weekend rate was quite reasonable.
So far so good, upgraded me to suite and gave me a small bottle of wine.
Charming inn with lots of fun details. There was a hammock outside my room, a water bottle filling station by the lobby, and lots of great outdoor meeting space to sit and relax. There are plenty of food options within walking distance. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. I would stay here again.
Absolutely beautiful gardens. The staff has gone above and beyond to help us in any way possible. Very impressed. The rooms are really nice. We have traveled here from Kansas and this is by far the best we've seen.
Got the room at a deal through Groupon....would totally go back
Its very good for the price. Most importantly its clean. Definitely recommend.
Suitable location for Stanford and downtown. Great deli with friendly staff. Restaurant OK but not great!
The outside clean and has kind of a rustic, woodsy feel. There's a little store and deli just a few steps away across the parking lot. The deli gets good ratings online.
The room is clean, smells clean, and is modern, looks like it's been recently updated. The shower has glass sliding doors, new ones. And a rain shower head in the center of the shower. No bathtub.
It has ports for HDMI and Bluetooth and USB connection to the TV.
One minus: their Wi-Fi speed is terrible, less than a gigabit on Google speed test. Had to use my phone hotspot instead.
Overall, I recommend it.
We stayed twice now , we really love how clean the rooms and bathrooms are and the desk people are super friendly and helpful , we will be back again !!
excellent hotel at reasonable price. Highly recommended!
I was a bit taken aback by this place - I'd expected it to be a more traditional hotel and was worried at first. Ultimately my fears were unfounded. Creekside is an unfussy hotel that is best described as "simple elegence." The rooms looking out into the garden are disarmingly peaceful and the hotel rooms themselves are updated with superior amenities. It's a bit far from downtown Palo Alto, but walking distance to Stanford and the HP campus.
Very good place and good service my room was very clean
Well presented hotel, garden centric rustic charm, excellent accommodating staff, shuttle service for 5 miles with a fleet of Tesla X's. Great location on el Camino real. Clean spacious rooms, really quiet and tranquil, WiFi, electronic vehicle charging, pool and overall great amenities
Would have been 5 stars but the TVs are standard def.
Large clean updated rooms. Works for me and I love the old school feel.
great place for a great hotel, no issues at all. everyone should try it and give it a shot even if its one-night. they are friendly and helpful and there restaurant has great food as well:) so wonderful service:)
I love the bath robe and slippers. Super clean. Walls can be thin. Or perhaps neighbors are loud
Rooms are recently renovated and clean, but the buildings are a bit dated and cramped
Great place to be and I felt comfortable attending an event there. This is one of the few places I would recommend.
Lovely location, clean and stylish rooms, avoidance of plastic water bottles and complimentary shuttle to local spots.
Very nice ambience, nice staff. Very nice and cozy rooms. Clean bathroom
Had a great experience with the staff (except one in particular) and cleanliness of my room. The guy at the front desk pointed out the amenities to me, but I didn't have the opportunity to check them out. He remembered my last name during my stay and gave me a good pho recommendation.
Room Quality: 8
Customer Service: 10 (The chubby guy, with a pullback hair style, and a cool accent. He is the best dam customer service I've seen in my life [Cool, helpful, efficient]. If you are a manager who is reading this, please promote him or raise his salary.)

Short Description:
Pretty good room, not perfect like a 5 star hotel, but matches a 4 star hotel. The room is very clean and comforting.
I like it very much because the hotel is surrounded by trees; very relaxing. I like to sit on the couch to watch the river flow, or lay on the bed and watch a whole colony of squirrels move in the trees.
Next time I come to Palo Alto for summer, Creekside inn will be my first choice!
Great little hotel close to everything you need in Palo Alto. My room was perfect - felt a little like a resort hotel.
Fantastic hotel with above-average amenities for the price. The tablet command center, bath robes and chilled water were an unexpected bonus! We got a great deal on Groupon.
Clean comfy rooms. Super accommodating staff. We were travelling with our newborn baby and they went above and beyond to work with our accommodation needs. Great location as well. Will definitely be staying here again.
What a suprise. Absolutely stunning grounds and clean highly amenitized "budget" room, especially for PA.
The minimart/deli on site has amazing serenches and a great selection of cold craft beer.
Won't stay anywhere else.
Service was great, room was clean and seemed to be newly renovated. Towels were clean but stiff. Would stay again.
Beautiful Creek and serene and quaint despite being off el camino
Cozy and clean. Nice views and creekside balconies.
Nice clean hotel. Small room. Comfortable bed. Creek was dry in early August.
Very peaceful and quite. Service is excellent. Great place to stay in Palo Alto.
Even though the hotel is on a main thoroughfare since it is very quiet. The room service is from a resteraunt that is next to hotel and the food is excellent.
