Cox Hardware and Lumber Review

Went to Home Depot for this certain tool that I needed. After some help it took me 25 mins to get the item. Turned out to be the wrong one... Came here within 1 min i was in and out. Thank you so much.

Just oldschool, service is very helpful and knowledgeable. Unlike big box stores.

Incredible selection and great prices. Saying the staff are friendly and helpful is an understatement. They go above and beyond to help meet all of your needs. So happy I found this place and would come here over Home Depot/Lowes any day.

If you don't want to waste your time running around town looking for hardware items, go to Cox Hardware and Lumber. It's in a safe neighborhood and family owned for 70 years. Everyone is very professional and helpful. In the future, I won't even bother with hardware stores other than Cox Hardware and Lumber. The extra five minutes to get there is well worth the time since it is one stop shopping.

Good little hardware store better than the big box hardware stores

I always get excellent service.I go there every day for parts its a lot faster than the big box stores.

I have been coming here for many years. You can always find someone to give you good help. Unusually good and friendly service. Old fashioned in that way but well stocked. I can't think of a better hardware store in Texas.

This people know where to find what you are looking for. Also quite knowledgeable.

This hardware store has everything you need. The prices are a bit higher than the big chain stores. But you pay for the convenience and the knowledge of the people working there. Fast service.

Needed a 1-1/2" external snap ring and they were the only place open on a Saturday that I found one at. Lost of specialty tools and parts. Great selection of fasteners. Highly recommended.

I needed UNTREATED 4x4 pine posts for a DIY project. The big box stores don't carry it. Tried to get them to order some for me...nope. Found you guys online and you had plenty IN STOCK! Thanks Cox! I live in Katy but you have earned a new customer now!

Visit Lowe's or home Depot then come here. You will see the difference. Cox has employees that are willing to help. Old school service.thank goodness.

You'll be hard pressed to find better customer service. EVERY employee I've requested help from has successfully answered my query. They could be on one end of the store and direct you to your item on the other end, and that nice lady with her hair in a bun who works in the back has probably forgot more about plumbing than you'll learn in a lifetime

This was the only place I could find untreated 4" x 4" pine posts for building a table.

I gave it 3 stars because my husband & I buy here when we need something really fast & don't want to drive to Lowe's! Last time we went to buy some wire for a project, well a girl called for 'wire-cutting' on aisle 10,guy shows up,asks what we need, leaves to get measuring tape, comes back without wire-cutters, leaves again to get them! Finally starts to measure & cut & here comes the girl & another guy. 3 ppl to cut 5ft. of wire! Really?!! They have a small handful of ppl that are willing to help you! The women & guys @ the customer service counter are laughing & giggling everytime I've been in there, they don't acknowledge /greet customers. Cox is my bad habit! I wish I didn't live so close that way I'd have to drive to Lowe's!

You get what you need and people help you find your needs .

This is my hardware store in my neighborhood !!! Although it looks small, it is big and here you find everything and they help you quickly better than anywhere

First visit here. A friend recommended this place for a specific item I was looking for. I had been waiting for over a month to come here. Finally drive across town going in late to work to make it here and they were out of the specific item size I needed. They had like three employees help look as they showed it was in stock, but no one found it. I was told they hadn t done inventory in a while, okay I guess. Then when the manager Chris asked how I was doing I explained and asked if he would offer me the size up at the same price since they were out of the one I needed and I finally made the trip here. He said no but I ll knock off 10%. I said of my whole purchase he said no just the one item. WOW saved me a $1, no thanks. Why do I want to overpay for the wrong size. It s not about the cost but more about the moral. I ll just order the right one I need online from amazon or from someone who has the exact size of what I need I guess. Yet brick and mortar stores wonder why their losing business to online purchases.

I was looking forward to coming back here because it seems like a cool spot but I ll stick to online or local places closer to home.

A variety of hardware especially screws and nuts makes me glad that Cox has saved my days many times. I am a Mom that prefers to fix it .

Take this review to heart -- simply put, you'd be hard-pressed to find better service or people in a hardware store anywhere today than what you'll find at Cox. The experience here is 1000 times more pleasant, friendly, and helpful than any I've ever had in one of the biggies.

Needed a circuit breaker the biggies don't bother stocking. Found Cox on Google, and they had the part. Drove 40 minutes to get there, and they had the breaker waiting for me. Then, the wife and I spent another half hour just walking around the store, fascinated by the incredible variety of things they have.

People, products, service -- the perfect trio. We're already planning our to-do list of parts and things for our return trip to Cox. Thanks Virgil and Arnold!

Been going to Cox hardware for years it is convenient and has good prices. Employees are helpful and knowledgeable in their products will continue to go there over big stores you can't beat their costumer service.

I already purchased $20 worth of the incorrect fittings and driven to four different hardware stores before someone knew what I was dealing with. Manual wasn't even on the clock when he overheard me descibing my issue to another employee and brought me the correct line and adapter without being even asked.

Customer service like that has become too rare. I highly recommend Cox Hardware.

I needed some supplies to paint a replacement fender on my 1984 Landcruiser. I found a paint that looked like a close match online and called stores to find it. After O'Reilley's failed me three times I called Cox Hardware after seeing it was in stock on their website. They then checked if it was on the shelf. I came in later that day, found the paint, asked Belinda if I could hold the spray cap next to my car to compare it. She held the paint at the register. I came back in got some more supplies and checked out. Good prices, nice staff, awesome store. Wish I lived closer to it!
