Always great food and friendly service. Service can be a little slow at times, but that's likely just due to them having a full house. Often busy and bustling, but still a good atmosphere.

Pros: Great food. For the dinner option I would highly recommend the grilled Salmon with veggies on the side slightly seasoned, perfectly delectable.

Cons: Long wait to be seated and receive order, sometimes the service is rude and too busy to remember your order, and the worst of all the salad bar is one time serve only.

What s the point of a salad bar where you can only fill a (rather small) salad plate just once? In my opinion that partially ruined my experience.

This is one of my favorite cafes ever!!! I love the food, especially the burgers. The milkshakes and house fries are also a must when you eat there. The decor is very nice, the place is comfortable, and the service is great!

I would actually rate this 4 1/2 stars. Reasonably priced, tasty food and breezy atmosphere. I've grown to love this little restaurant over the years, and have had many memorable times here. The "Ate after 8" deals are awesome, milkshakes are unmatched (especially peanut butter!), salad bar has a wide variety of ingredients and the breakfast menu is among the best quality for the price in the area. And of course the infamous burgers are totally satisfying, without being excessive. My only point of contention is the occasional flatness of demeanor of the waitstaff, which I've experienced a few times. But I understand waiting can be a super tiring job, and Courier has never subjected me to outright rudeness. So overall I would still highly recommend it.

Good food with great service. If you are ordering soups, make sure to order a bowl rather than a cup as the price to potion ratio makes no sense to order a cup at all. Their burgers are good here, which is surprising. They are a very More

The history and decor are a delight. My girlfriend and I both had the chili. It was sweet and spicy. I reccommend adding cheese and onions. Our service was fast and friendly even though every seat was filled. Don't forget to try your skills at the antique gumball machine on your way out!

Can t comment on the food considering I was seated but never served but service here is subpar. We were sat by the host and waited over 45 minutes to be noticed by a waiter. No one ever came by so we walked out.

We were looking for a new place to try out, and I can't say enough great things about the Courier Cafe! Every item of the decor and menu is absolutely perfect. From the drinks to the meal to dessert, we were wowed.

Always delicious food and very friendly staff. This is our favorite lunchtime location by far. Their salad bar is so good and when you want to splurge, I highly recommend their milkshakes.

Loved the food! Service was great prices a little above fair. Nice interior historic treasures to check out while you wait for food. The placemats inform you of their details. Charming garden outside. Fresh and full of flavor. I sampled everones plates cuz they all looked so good. I was right they were. Would definately eat here again. Next time I'll leave room for desert. They need cheesecake dipped in dark chocolate on a stick. Easy to eat and drive.

The food excellent and the service was great. We had been traveling for weeks, eating out a lot and this is one of two meals we had over the course of 10,000 miles of travel that was great/excellent.

This is a charming little place with wonderful food. There was only a short wait when we went and we got a nice table by the window. The food was wonderful, and even though they were kinda busy the service was friendly and prompt. Highly recommend the vegetarian dippers.

Love coming here. Menu offers a great selection of breakfast foods and the flavors coffees are very good. Service is quick, pleasant, and knowledgable. Even when packed, you're seated in 30 min or less. The atmosphere makes you feel like your at you mom's or grandmother's for breakfast. Very sweet and cozy. They bake their own breads in house!

The chicken noodle soup is always good; definitely thicker than the normal brothy egg noodle chicken noodle soup. Reuben was okay, lots of meat and sauerkraut, but it was pretty dry even with sauce. Brother got the fried chicken meal, chicken was undercooked (raw) in the middle. Service was very good, they offered to take it back and replace, but ended up running out so they gave us a gift certificate. Honestly, the food isn't that great to where I'd go back again.

Courier Cafe is a great place for breakfast in the Champaign-Urbana area. Their menu features everything you would expect from a breakfast restaurant, and the prices are very reasonable. The place can get quite busy on weekends sometimes, so if you want to get seated quickly, it is recommended to go early. They have a weekly rotation of special coffee roasts that can be very tasty. I had eggs and pancakes most recently, and they were very filling. Courier Cafe succeeded in making pancakes with that stellar buttermilk flavor that is seemingly impossible to achieve at home.

An incredible breakfast place. Biscuits and gravy superb. Never found an entry I didn't like. Excellent wait staff, allow a few extra minutes on the food, so many things home made. A downtown Urbana favorite for years.

Yes!

Best salad bar and light fixtures in the country. Always have to stop by when I'm in town because their milkshakes are to die for. Much of their salad is locally sourced from a garden just behind the restaurant, and it's always hopping no matter what time of day I come, but there's never a wait. It's a magical place, and you should go!

Great food, quaint environment, and attentive service. Perhaps the only real downside was the long wait for a table and for our food. However, the former can be attributed to the popularity of the restaurant and the latter to the fact that we arrived just as the kitchen was transitioning from breakfast to lunch. All in all a wonderful experience, one I heartily recommend.
