It was super nice inside. We didn't stay here, but we went to the Blue Pig Tavern for dinner and the Boiler Room for drinks and we loved it. I also took cover in the lobby during the rain and they had beautiful fires going in the fire places. They have events with live music and a few shops and they even have a spa.

This hotel should be ashamed to charge what they charge. $700.00 per night for a room that had little to no Air Conditioning (never got below 75 degrees). They give you a 10 inch fan to keep you cool. The room was a disaster. I opened the door to the bathroom and the door hinges pulled out of the rotten door frame. Our room smelled like mold and mildew. The outdoor bar was just below our room and the partying went on all night. With the heat, smell and noise we were up at 4am to check out and get on the road. I went to the front desk to check out and the girl behind the front desk never inquired about our stay or why were checking out at 4am. Very sad.

This is a Real Resort ! Ultimate Cape May experience ! 3 Restaurants (all very good), an outdoor bar, Spa, and tastefully decorated throughout. There is a wonderful coffee shop and souvenir shop.. The rooms have high ceilings, wonderful light, comfortable furnishings. Everything about Congress Hall is beautiful and memorable. The ocean is just across the street. Our new go to place when we are in the area.

I know this hotel is old but they should be embarrassed to charge $800 a night for an ocean view room that reeks of must with mold on the window shades. You have to keep the windows open all night just to breath. We were also locked in the room from the inside as the door swelled and the lock was defective. Spider webs were actually flying from the ceiling and the bed was made with the sheet on top of a blanket so had to be remade. Naturally, also overcharged on the bill which fortunately we caught. You can't make this stuff up. Not even a decent hotel at $50 a night. The front desk seems to know there are major problems.

Great place to come for a drink either outside or in the Brown Room. Head downstairs on weekends for a bar with live music and dancing. Blue Pig and Brown Room are both great places to eat. Rocking chairs outside are the best to relax. Often have fun events here like carnivals and winter fest! If you come to Cape May, you should come to Congress Hall.

Classy and sophisticated upscale hotel with great shops and restaurants. Perfect for a romantic weekend getaway (they also have a spa). If your just strolling nearby Washington Street Mall swing by and check out the stores and beautiful architecture and design inside.

Amazing overnight stay!!!!

Amazing overnight stay!!!!
My husband and I wanted to recharge and we couldn t have picked a better place for it.
We had the King room with Balcony and we had the best weather to enjoy it. I think even if the weather didn t cooperate, the view and balcony would still be amazing.
The service was great, we did the Blue Package and there was so much included.
We highly recommend taking advantage of the Packages that are offered through out the year, especially during the winter months. Cape May -Congress Hall is a wonderful place to be in the winter months.

This is the second time we have been here in three months. Beautiful historic hotel. Cozy and quaint. The Blue Pig restaurant is fabulous! The staff is friendly, cordial and professional. I highly recommend Congress Hotel for your next stay in Cape May!

The pool and front yard are beautiful. We took some drinks out and played cornhole before dinner. Inside bar was crowded pretty no matter what time it was, but we never had an issue being served. Had breakfast at the restaurant at the bottom of the hotel and it was one of the best breakfast we've ever had. Room was clean but we had an awful view of some industrial unit. Bathroom was almost as big as the bed area! Staff was friendly and helpful. Caters to an older more affluent crowd. We may not stay again but we'll definitely come back for food and drinks.

Update: came back in season and the hostess at Blue Pig Tavern was the most unpleasant person I've ever encountered in Cape May. I brought guests with me to experience what I think is an amazing brunch and now I'm unsure if I'll return. Waitress was awesome but still left with a bad taste in my mouth from the hostess.

My now fiance and I spent the weekend there for our engagement. We couldn't have imagined a better place to share our engagement weekend. The history and building / grounds were spectacular. Our room was immaculately clean and beautiful. We ate breakfast at The Blue Pig. The food and service everywhere was great. Were so grateful to The Congress Hall and it's associated shops/restaurant staff for helping make this weekend even more special.

Had my daughters wedding which had been canceled two prior times due to corona. Unfortunately I feel my daughter was ripped off for the service of an very very expensive hall. They were so desperate to have an easy transtion of a wedding. He event planner was not good. She never returned calls or emails. On the day of the wedding she was no where to be seen. They were served 3 hordouvers a salad and a piece of meat. No coffee wS served. This couple was desperate for a smooth sailing event and I feel whAt they paid was astronomical for how they were treated. Don t get me wrong we loved our time but disturbed by the service. One last remark there was no bathroom offered to the guests t he guests had to wLk through the hotel to go to the bathroom. Watch what they offer you for A very expensive affair

Congress hall is very nice. The outside pool and lounge are is well maintained and the staff is very friendly. The lobby has lots of interesting historic artifacts and a few nice restaurants. It is centrally located right across the street from the beach and just a few minute walk from other attractions in town.

My family and I stopped by on a cold day to warm up with some food and drinks; we have stayed at Congress Hall before and always enjoyed it there. We arrived just in time before the kitchen closed but still received our food incredibly quickly and enjoyed our warm drinks in the lounge. Our service was friendly and inviting.

After receiving a complete runaround at the Reeds at Shelter Haven, Congress Hall came through in a big way. Kudos to Dan Murphy for his accommodating, professional and courteous service. Will definitely return again.

I just stayed here with my wife and 17 month old daughter and we loved it. It's very close to the beach and walking distance to shops and restaurants. I will definitely be staying here again if we decide to visit cape May again.

Charming historic hotel that has great updated features, the rooms have great sea themes. The shops have unique boutique merchandise. The blue pig tavern has excellent food for all services. The lobby/parlor has a comfortable homey feeling you could just sit and relax.

This is a lovely setting, close to beach and walking distance to everything you might want to see. I was particularly pleased to see signs on the veranda indicating quiet time for late at night and early in the morning. But nevertheless, we had to call the front desk at 12:30 am to ask for quiet from wedding reception guests who continued to party loudly outside on the veranda. This was followed by a momentary bright light being shined onto our window and the television in the next room turned on full volume for 2 hours. You might want to see what the hotel's policy is on wedding receptions and that the staff has a discreet way to handle unruly guests

I found mold in the bathroom and 2 spota with so much mold on the 4th floor to the left of the elevators all the way down. The room was titlted to the left. The air conditioner was so loud and so hard to sleep with. It started raining outside and the waiter said sorry you should of look at the weather. Mold is a health concern. We will NOT be coming back here!

The hotel was filthy. The events were so loud that our children couldn t sleep until the events shut down around midnight. We were promised they would go no later than 10:00pm. Everything about this place is overpriced from their drinks to their rooms to their disgusting excuse for food . It s like they found every single incompetent human being and hired them to work here. The food was undercooked and made us all sick. I will never return here and will recommend that you find a different location with better food, drinks, and a better vibe.

Impromptu trip. Everyone was wearing a mask and social distanced. There is nothing better than sipping a cocktail in the rocking chairs at congress hall. Blue Pig breakfast was delish as always but I missed the green juice they used to have.

Seemless Check-in. During a Pandemic, I felt very comforatble with all the strick measures Congress Hall had in place to make sure people were Social Distancing and wearing a mask. I love sitting on the back porch while enjoying a cocktail under the heat lamps and this was relaxing. My only suggestion would be to have more staff serving, we waited a while for drinks. You're not allowed to order from the bar due to Covid. My room was very clean and the hotel was decorated for the season.

Congress Hall made our fall getaway in Cape May an unforgettable weekend. The customer service was outstanding! Our ocean view room was spacious with timeless details. We also felt that sanitation and social distancing measures were excellent.
