Cabanas beach bar and grill Review

Had hot wings and jerk chicken quesadilla. Very good. Service was good too. Young crowd. Didn't have a cocktail, but looked yummy.

Cool staff! Such a good location on the beach with minimal pedestrian traffic. The food was so good too.. great experience.

Watered down drinks. Even the premium Capt. Morgan specialties had NO alcohol.
Burgers with no decent mustard. Music too loud.

Really cool atmosphere and it's right on the beach. There was a really cool band playing when we were there. It's on the backside of a hotel. FYI

Service was dreadfully slow. Everything we touched was sticky. Couldn't wait to get out of the wind tunnel at the bar.

We stopped in for a drink and stayed for 2! A little hidden gem to have a beach-side cocktail. Great bartender and amazing ocean view! So glad we stumbled upon Cabanas!

Nachos weren't too bad, but the creamsicle was delicious and the location was too tier.

Second time here. The inside dining area seemed to have a nice atmosphere. The outside oceanfront bar could use a refresh (paint, tables, chairs, etc.). Overpriced beer, to be expected but always disappointing.

Great food and drinks. Tables and chairs on the beach and inside of the beach bar. Entertainment daily. Chris and Victoria Fridays at 4pm. Love them. Highly recommend

I live on Sanibel, work on Captiva and party on Ft Myers Beach. I go to Cabanas (normally) so I can detach from my work islands and just "be". Normally Cabanas is awesome; tonight however...not so much. Patrick was our server and apparently had to go to Mexico for each one of my Corona Lights (took FOREVER). Patrick was not client-focused. Patrick DID NOT have his head in the game for HIGH SEASON. He literally told me that my gratuity would not "make or break him"...I am embarrassed to work in the hospitality industry with staff members like Patrick. Please know that Sanibel and Captiva WOULD NEVER treat their patrons with such disregard and rudeness. ATTENTION ALL TOURISTS...GO TO CAPTIVA!! You will be treated like royalty in comparison to this very poor example of "hospitality". Patrick, you should find a new industry...you are not a good fit for hospitality.

Love this place. You can see the sunset from there. Sometimes there is live music. The staff is awesome! Great cocktails, and my favourites are the coconut shrimps. I recommend

My wife and my mother in law went in at 450 pm tonight and sat at a table in the beach side of the restaurant.When my father in law and myself arrived at 510 pm they had still not been served or even said hello to.There were only 3 tables with people sitting at them at that time, however the blond server ignored us for a further 10 minutes.She also actually served another couple that arrived 20 minutes after us.
We decided to leave and I apologized for recommending the place.However we had a very nice meal down the road.
I owned a bar for 10 years, and I was kind of shocked at such poor service and treatment.
Save yourself the trouble and go down the road to a real pub or restaurant .We had dinner at 6 other places on the beach this week.All were good.

My chicken salad was good, but was served without lettuce and tomato which the menu showed, thought that was odd. Cole slaw had a bite to it which was delicious. Enjoyed the breeze right off the beach, great location.

Fantastic spot. The best mudslides and pina coladas. Great grouper sandwich and, oddly, the best chicken tenders. Definitely recommend stopping by and saying hi to Randy.

Great location. Sat at the bar, bartenders were making drinks, asked what she was making and she said she'd be with us in a sec. That sec turned into no eye contact not coming back over. 2 young ladies walked up beside us and were served in seconds by the other males bartender. Needless to say you didn't get our $$. So many better places on the beach.

A very great bar with live music and great drinks and great food. However, for all who are prone to getting attached to their favorite bartenders and waitresses, this bar/restaurant is part of a hotel & resort, and sometimes bartenders and waitresses of such a property get transferred to a different job on the same property. Sometimes it's receptionist at the front desk. Sometimes it is maintenance and housekeeping. Sometimes it is laundry. And if you have a favorite bartender or server here, keep in mind that there always exists the possibility of her being put in the laundry room or at the front desk. And even if she is working the front desk, stopping in at the front desk to say "Hi" to her is a felony under Federal law in the United States of America. It constitutes the offense of disrupting the business environment which is investigated by the FBI, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Marshals, the U.S. Military, the U.S. Supreme Court (in Washington, DC), and it carries a penalty of one hundred thirty five (135) years to life in prison.

I would say this is one of the best bars to go to on Fort Myers Beach! Love the atmosphere. They have live music most nights and plenty of TV's, so you can catch your favorite team playing while sipping one of their amazing tropical drinks!! Great food too by the way!!

Just had lunch here today, still sitting at table. Waitress is horrible, took forever to greet us and they weren't busy, didn't come around to ask if we needed drinks, served me a burnt sandwich, served my daughter her salad without realizing they put cheese on it and my daughter is dairy intolerant, now we can't even get our bill. SERIOUSLY, so many alternatives. Stay away from this place.

It had some good looking drinks described on the wall, but several times when I attempted to get them, they were closed. The drinks were rather overpriced, and the salty bartender grabbed the change in front of me and thanked me for my "tip", when I hadn't intended on giving him a thing. The drinks were good, and I was in "vacation mode", so I didn't put up a fuss. It certainly has a great location, right on the beach.

Great live music around 1 in the afternoon. Food was decent - typical sports bar stuff. It's directly off the beach so it gets an extra star for location.

I thought we'd try Cabanas because we heard it was good and in a nice hotel. Food was terrible. Chicken sandwich chewy, ordered a salad with chicken, didn't get the chicken. The house salad, which was small costs 9.95...too much for what I was served. Wait staff was poor, never came back to see how are food was. Had nachos as well, standard chili with cheese sauce nachos, plus had a black hair in the nachos, gross. The Key Lime Pie drink was good though....first time and last time eating there. So disappointed...

Amazing views and live music, great for drinks. Oddly, not great for chicken fingers.... Pass on the food.... Go to Liki Tiki BBQ for chicken fingers or just good food!

A lively, clean, fun beach bar with a chill atmosphere on an awesome beach.

First lunch we had here the waitress was great, quick, honored all of our requests, etc. BUT, we were able to charge the meal to our room at the resort. On the day we checked out, we stuck around the resort on the beach and pool, decided to eat lunch poolside. Waitress was rude when she found out we would be paying cash instead of charging to our room. Set our check on the table with our food. Well, guess what, we didn't get any additional drinks after that. We had planned on sitting by the pool for a while but decided to leave.

Horrible Drinks. Worse than bottom shelf liquor in the mixed drinks. The rum tasted like rubbing alcohol in my drink. On a slightly bright note the beer was cold.

Banana foster and funky monkey were both good, but Funky monkey was the better. Service was a bit slow.

We had a fantastic day at Ft. Myers Beach, highlighted by the hospitality and friendliness we received at Cabanas. Particularly by our server, Heather Feather. She was knowledgable about the food and drink items and greated us with a smile and a high five! The Grouper Rueben was delicious and my 5 year old said the burger was the best she's ever tasted. The best veiw of the beach and I could enjoy my lunch and beer with my feet still in the sand. Definitely worth a visit when you are at the beach!

Convenient bar/restaurant on the beach. Our server was great and we really enjoyed the view, but poor quality food. My husband and I both ordered the mahi fish tacos and they come with terrible store-brand salsa and a packet of sour cream. Just not fresh ingredients we were hoping for at a resort.
I also ordered a regular coke at the bar which I was charged a quarter for and then the next day was charged us $2.25. Not sure what that was about, but obviously not consistent pricing.

Come every year! The service is good, drinks are fun and the food is great. Try the jerk chicken and pineapple quesadilla. Fantastic!

Slow service, sat for 30 mins before I could get a drink need to hire more people for the bar or the place should just shut down. I highly don t recommend a place like this worst service I have ever had go somewhere else

Nice clean place, personal was very polite. I had the Grouper sandwich which was on the thin side and a little pricy. Great atmosphere can sit on the beach or open bar area. Drinks very tasty.

Even though this is one of the few veggie-friendly menus, Nate has been awesome preparing my special requests. And his portobello pineapple quesadilla tonight was DELICIOUS! Great staff! Makes up for all the construction and lack of live music during such a slow time.

I love this beach bar as it has a superb view of Ft. Myers Beach. Huge cocktail menu and good food.
