Compton's Pancake House Review

Good food but very small portions. Other than that it s nice

The food we had was good. But...The owner s wife is one of the most unprofessional person I have ever been around. I witnessed her yelling and screaming at her daughter and then slamming the silverware down on the table for a customer. The customer looked at her (justifiably upset) and got up and left, the owner s wife then cursed at her (the CUSTOMER) saying get the f outta here and don t come back if you don t like it. You have to be kidding me. Do I even need to say more?

The pancakes were just ok and I would pass on the waffle. After waiting for about 10 minutes for an inside table it was clear this place was understaffed and the staff needed some more training. Overall this is a cheap place to eat and the food quality matches the prices.

We have made Compton's a stop on our annual trip to the area. We have been there 4 times to eat breakfast and LOVE the Triple Play and Cheesecake Pancakes. The service is a little slow and one time we never saw the server after she dropped off the food. Good help is hard to find but don't let them chase away your costumers, your food deserves better services then that.

This is my second time going to Compton's Pancake House and I don't regret it. They have an amazing staff. Everyone is friendly and truly look like they enjoy their job. The food was also great!

Best place for 4.95 breakfast whenever we go to Camelback or Great Wolf lodge we go to comptons to save money my family of 5 eats for 35 dollars at the resort 125. And the food in Comptons is better

Mine and my daughter's server was so wonderful. This was the first time I took my daughter there and she loved everythung about the place. The server made sure it was a great mother daughter bonding moment and the price wasn't that bad.

Waited 45 minutes for a BLT , service was the worst. I will never attempt this place again.

My favorite place, ive been many places in northeast pa to grab breakfast and this is the place i always come back to. Great food wonderful price. Always worth it

This is my go too place, when in Stroudsburg, but today and the last (2) times they've dropped the ball. Smaller and smaller plates. Short staff's, and not even waiting on the customers. Not getting what you want. It's a shame that such a wonderful place is going to the pits. You still have time to save it and make it what gave it; its popularity!

They have great coffee and really really good breakfast the caramel banana pancakes are the best

This place should be named Incompetent Paste cake House. Pancakes were cold, sweet, pasty premix, pile of grossness that I couldn't eat. The syrup adds an extra touch of synthetic chemicals. I lwanted jelly instead, but none was on the table. My waitress was nowhere to be found until I had finished my egg and bacon. No time to complain or send pancakes back to swap for toast, no jelly, empty coffee cup. If you want a hot stack light, fluffy buttermilk pancakes, don't come here. I should have gone to Perkins. Never again. I always rate a breakfast diner on these two elements. Pancakes and service. Epic fail on both. FOLLOW UP 10 hours later I have a bad case of Montezuma's revenge. Let me repeat. Never again.

The best breakfast place in the Poconos!!! The food is fantastic!!

Went once and never will again. Customer service was beyond horrible. It wasn't busy and the hostess sat there for a good 20 minutes before realizing we needed to be sat down. Nice we finally got a table it took another 30 minutes just to get our menus while the waitresses were all sitting around at the booth behind us talking the whole time. Our table wasn't the only one waiting too. When our food finally came out it was that great. It doesn't live up to what everyone says.

Large space, friendly owner and server, Kim, and great pancakes. However, people who smoke should stand further away from entrance.

Great breakfast before your hike. Everything was perfect, creamy grits, eggs cooked properly, hash browns have a slight kick, pancakes awesome. They make their $ by charging $2.59 for coffee but they topped us off twice with no extra charge.

Great place for breakfast. Very inexpensive with ample friendly staff to handle the flow. Go alone or bring a group, you will not regret it.

Their omelets are great and the service is excellent.

In planning our route to Great Wolf Lodge Poconos, we discovered this joint nearby. We read the reviews and found out for ourselves that they were spot-on! The food was so freaking yummy! One reviewer had complained about the portions. I kinda agree because I m a big guy who likes to eat , especially breakfast foods. I could have had larger portions but oh well! Overall we were very satisfied with the place, the staff, the service, and the food! Surely we d be back!

This ace is the best restaurant in the Pocono. You won't be disappointed.
I promiss. Try it once this will be the place you come to every time you are here.

Had to take a star away today, it's very busy but out of rye toast wheat instead not really toasted waitress forgot our drinks didn't get them until our meal was done

Not bad for a lil diner. You get alot of food for your order.its at a good price too. They also have good coupons. The food comes out fast. Only down fall i didnt like is, its very nosiey in there. If your ok with that then youll love the place. Try it..

Directly next to motel we stayed in so we went. So good! Everything was super fresh and the waitress was a doll! Waited 20 minutes, as it was a Sunday morning, but totally worth the wait! Triple double with French toast was yummy! Kids devoured their pancakes too

This restaurant seemed to be a mix of IHOP and Denny's, with a neighborhood feel to it. Our waitress was incredibly nice and attentive, especially considering we had a larger party. The quality of the food was very good, and was on par with most diners that serve breakfast food.

Sausage gravy was extremely bland as were the home fries. Had to cover with salt and katchup to make them have any flavor

Very popular place. Like ant farm people constantly moving the workers and customers and smiling. Food was good everyone with me enjoyed the visit.

We had gone there for breakfast while on a family vacation. The service was outstanding, our waitress was awesome!!! The food was delicious!!!! We are planning our next vacation back to stroudsburg and will definitely be eating at Compton pancake house again

Everytime I visit PA, this is the place to go. I always order the double triple play and this time they had pumpkin pancakes. OMG! They were delicious. Staff is friendly and I highly recommend this spot.

I used to enjoy going to Comptons with my family but as of late, the new waitresses are lacking in customer service. During our last visit, we were waited on by a heavy set lady with glasses that was not friendly at all. She seemed annoyed and threw our plates down when we were served. I've never had such a terrible experience at this establishment. Even our children noticed her crude behavior. To make matters worse, our meals weren't even hot, our portions were smaller than usual and paid more than usual (I'm assuming the prices went up). Bad experience overall!

Food time from window to table was excellent, ingredients were fresh, vegetables in the stuffed omelette were crisp. Prices are fair, although 4 slices of bacon for $3.99 isn't a great value. This is the restaurant you go to when you just want great breakfast food and a great experience. The staff were wonderful and I thoroughly enjoyed being serenaded by barbie girl as they were cleaning up to close for the day. Will definitely come back when I'm in the area.

Best breakfast spot in stroudsburg. Hidden gem right on Rt611. On a packed day seating is quick, staff is fast and efficient and food is always incredible.

We missed the breakfast at the Quality inn in East Stroudsburg so my girlfriend and I came to Compton s.The chicken cheesesteak omelette that I order was the best omelette I ve ever had and was freshly made. The place was slammed but the staff used time management properly. Our waitress Jacqueline on Sunday couldn t be friendlier. My girlfriend and I are from NJ and it felt like we were at a diner in our home state. I would recommend this place and would definitely come back the next time we come snowtubing.

Awesome service, awesome food, quick, friendly, accommodating, especially Jacquelin. She is the absolute best. Pancakes were amazing and hot as was everything else! We had a party of 10, and were served quickly, and professionally.

I fell on ice in the parking lot. Told the waitress she didn't care. Had to tell another person that worked there so they would put salt out. The food was good the service sucked. The prices were ridiculous. My cup of hot tea was 20 cents cheaper than a side of bacon. Tea shouldn't cost that much. With the whole experience I should have stayed on the ground when I fell and sued them. I will never go back

The service is great. The food is good. The prices are reasonable. My husband and I enjoy eating here during breakfast time because they are now serving grits as part of the menu.

I enjoyed eating at this establishment. They have a great deal called the triple play something that isn t listed on their menu and is more of a secret menu item which is a complete breakfast for $5.25. The establishment is very loud and busy so it s not exactly a quiet place to read a book or the paper with your morning coffee. Parking is also a bit of a hassle
