DO NOT BRING ANYTHING OF VALUE!!!!!! I had so much stolen that was in a locked storage room while I was a "client". Reading glasses, health and beauty supplies, clothing, shoes...etc. The directors of Passages/CSS and Thayer/TSS are completely unapproachable and disconnected/disinterested of the clients needs. There was 1 case manager at Passages CSS for 46 clients and the clinicians meet with you for mere minutes every other day. However, Christine is great and actually likes her job. Case managers on Thayer/TSS are also responsible to run education groups and be drivers for clients appointments and interviews with halfway houses which prevents them from doing their jobs. Clients are constantly in a state of fear of discharge due to behavioral contracts for things as minor as using a restroom during groups or having a styrofoam cup in their room for water.
Try to only deal with Jackie the RN (shes awesome) because no one else cares about your meds or helping set up doctor appts. Its almost impossible for clients to self advocate because they have no resources to do so. Its basically a reform school with meds, mice and disgusting food.

This agency is grossly unprofessional and is getting worse as time passes, as I have been their client for more than 20 years but, am seriously thinking about a serious change. My current therapist is awesome but, the so- called Psychiatrists are only "TEXT BOOK IDIOTS", as I call them, in that they have no real true experience in the society and seeing what people actually cope with and understand their particular issues - they rely on what they learned in college by reading a book written with someone else's perspective - this goes for the new "professionals" if that is what you want to call them. I am now disgusted with this agency, as they seem to have lost what their mission stands for and that is pathetic!

The only reason I'm giving this 1 star is because I have to. I've been trying to get clean and this place doesn't care about recovery. The staff literally said " I'm HERE FOR A PAYCHECK" . It took 7 hours to get up to the floor. Finally when I got up there staff brought me to my room and left me without telling me when medication times are, meal times etc.. I got kicked out because I smoked a cigarette at court on cape cod. They said your "CHL property when you leave. I'm nobody's property

Can't ever get a person to answer the phone or even return a phone message. These are people struggling with addiction ,having said that many times the clients may act irrationally and leave ! That in no way gives this place or staff the ability or the right to allow or discharge a person without the proper paperwork to go to another facility nor do they have the right to say a person can not be medicated anywhere else ! To get the paperwork needed you must be able to reach nursing or a human, this is impossible. Outrageous, cruel, beyond disturbing and perhaps illegal.
I will be reporting this place to the authorities as a professional who has witnessed such horrific behavior from both treatment team from staff and this could result in related or death .

Very bad experience assisting a friend with obtaining a Psych Eval due to their depression. Hung up on by the operator at the 24 psych emergency line. I thought that they did in home emergency assessments, but instead made my friend travel to their office, where he was redirected multiple times and waited over an hour before leaving. What a way to treat someone in a psych crisis.

I Just finished 14 days at passages program.. I thought it was understaffed, poor management, lack of management. Staff seemed to have little and sometimes conflicting knowledge. There is little to none individual therapy. I found it really odd that I was not even able to receive an A.A's "Big book". (staff said they did not have any).. Lets of phone "issues" no one ever seems to answer probably due to being understaffed. I also had a hard time sending and reviving mail. I was sending a letter a day out to my girlfriend and she was sending back about 3-4 a week. Well I found a stack of my letter in an office. I was told that the women that normally did the mail had quit.......and that all i really got for an answer. I spoke with a director the next day and even then the mail took two days to get the mail room. The program it self is a good idea but it needs to be more structured and better staffed. Thank you

I personally had the absolute worst experience in ...

I personally had the absolute worst experience in my short time here. The area it is located is definitely scary. Also, this is a walk in detox, which I never even heard of until this place which of course is understandable for the area and I m sure good for some people but being a walk in, keep in mind that basically ANYONE from the streets can walk in to try and get a bed so again, I m sure is helpful for some people...especially seeing the area it s in with many many unfortunate homeless people, but I personally did not feel safe and just had a bad feeling being inside. When I went inside I just got such a bad feeling that I didn t want to be admitted in to a bed here so I requested the bed search service, which is when they will try to find an open bed close in the area..which I still was uncomfortable about because I just really didn t feel good at all about the area but at that moment, anything seemed better to me then staying here. While waiting, the doorbell rang and all hell broke loose, there was someone brought to their door unfortunately overdosing, which was a very terrifying experience. I then waited nearly 4 hours as I watched staff eat multiple lunches and stand around talking. There was another man there who I believe was trying to get a bed and stated he had been there since around 6AM, I got there at about 1030AM and this was now nearing 130PM. I sat and watched this man get extremely frustrated, trying to talk to staff members and being push aside multiple times until I heard him asking for a phone to call another detox in the area and then also asked to continue to make calls to find another detox to go to instead of waiting around for more hours and hours with no progress. Once I got to near 4 hours, the man behind the desk finally approached me to let me know that he could not find any other beds in the area and that was that. I truly cannot speak upon the actual care once admitted into a bed in this detox because I did not experience that but from just what I personally saw, this is not the place for you if you are looking for more high end care and/or treatment. This seems to be more of exactly what it is...a walk in detox...you walk in and try to get a bed as a last resort or as an emergency if you are sick or going to be sick. I personally felt really afraid being in here and felt extremely uncomfortable plus did not feel that anyone actually cared to really try much to find another bed for me to go to. The man behind the desk that helped me wasn t mean or rude, just seemed to not really care to help. Also there was about 5 or so other people there when I arrived and every single one was still there when I left, waiting for assistance of some kind so who knows how long they waited before being helped.

Went for a mental health evaluation, was told afterwards they could not give a real one so I'm not sure why they would mislead people like that. then was giving an option for help, that upon contacting the place I do not qualify for at all as I cannot commit to go everyday, I was told I didn't have to from this hospital. very disappointed that I keep trying to find help and this just another place I have gone to for help and did not receive anything helpful or useful

i had a good experience here as a first time detox, but it is true that most of the staff don t really seem to care about actually helping the clients. i waited about 4 hours while very sick to be admitted upstairs, and it wasn t until day 3 that i saw a case manager to be assessed. i practically had to beg to use a phone, & got in trouble for bringing a cup of juice into my room. don t get me wrong some of the staff were very nice & once i saw my case manager cindy, she was helpful. i just felt as though the program could be run in a more professional manner.

I will never again set foot in Community Healthlink! Filthy, code violations, blatant malpractice! I'm a former dental hygienist and a human rights advocate. I know. They play favorites. I am totally disabled by chronic physical illness yet was told that my illnesses are alleged! This is is Worcester's pathetic mental health and also homeless outreach!

Got my appointment canceled three times on me for a physical. I need it for college and the women at the front desk get a bad attitude and don't understand why I'm not happy with CHL. I recommend a walk in clinic versus this place. Will give it one last try and then I'm done and the only reason why I'm giving it one last shot is because I'm desperate and school is starting soon. Awful awful awful unprofessional!

I'm writing this review as someone now in long ter...

I'm writing this review as someone now in long term sobriety/recovery and as someone who works in the field. And someone who recently discovered my paperwork from my brief stay here.

I went to Community Healthlink around 2015. After several seizures, it was recommended that I go to further treatment and I was given a list of places to go. This was before Recovery Coaches, or anyone that would be willing to help an addict or alcoholic in the hospital setting. Beverly Hospital gave me a list and wished me luck.

I ended up getting a bed here, and it was the reason that I didn't go to treatment for years following-- because I thought all 'treatment centers' were like this.

I was alone, young, afraid, sick/homesick and it was my first time going in somewhere. I was given a bottle of Pedialyte. There were people walking around everywhere asking for medications. I just didn't want another seizure. No one communicated anything to me. My paperwork says that I saw all these people including case managers and therapists--- I did not.

All I remember was that horror show that was a bottle of Pedialyte and being told to sleep-- and no other care. Not a single human being wanted to know if I was okay. I never felt so alone in just trying to get help.

I'm putting together a list of programs for people in need and taking this off that list.

Can't believe this place is still open.
