Wonderful environment. Attentive staff. Food and martinis are perfect!

Wonderful environment. Attentive staff. Food and martinis are perfect!
They are so great at making you feel welcomed and make sure you are taken care of through the whole experience of dining here. The menu choices are great for all kinds of diets and accommodations needed. Their whiskey selection is above and beyond. Come here and order any entree and you can get 25 cent martinis;)
Decent restaurant with interesting dishes like turtle soup. The atmosphere was nice.
Wonderful experience! Atmosphere perfect. Food delicious. Pictures do not lie!
Online you might read that this restaurant doesn t have any Michelin stars, but is deserving of them! After dinner here, we agree. The drinks, apps, entrees and desserts were incredible. Nick and Jackie provided excellent service as well, and even asked the kitchen to divide the gumbo we ordered so my husband and I could share easily. My husband ordered the blondie for dessert, and still can t stop talking about it. Our only regret was that we didn t bring a large enough appetite!
Can't say enough very good service great food very good customers service
I've been to commander's palace a couple times and there is a reason this place has a legacy. This time went to sample the coolinary menu and it was stellar with menu offerings at a price that could not be beat. The service is impeccable, the food traditional creole full of flavor and decadence.
Literally the best meal I've ever had. I don't know what else to even say. Mind blowing food.
The service was amazing as well as the food. To top it off ot was my birthday. A must go!
Great experience! Service was gold and the food top notch. The .25c Martinis....potent
Heard a lot about this restaurant but did not prove to be as good as advertised.
First time to New Orleans and had to make a stop here. Our server assistants Shea and Dylan were so warm and knowledgeable. They really made our night and was a highlight to our trip to New Orleans. I am impressed and grateful for them. They have turned such a disaster into a great experience for me and my parents. Keep up the great work and dont ever give anyone a reason to look down on your team!
Love,
Hoang's and Mares's
An absolute must visit part of your trip to New Orleans. The standards for excellence in cuisine, hospitality and experience are unmatched in my opinion. Pricey, but absolutely delicious and worth it. Feast like royalty.
We really pulled out the stops here, as we really wanted to try everything on the menu. If this was the only time we were to go there, we saw it all. Service food and all of the accoutrements of a Michelin Star restaurant. It is no doubt one of the top 5 restaurants I have been in my life.
During our trip to New Orleans I had the opportunity to dine at Commander s Palace with my daughters, both of whom were visiting New Orleans for the first time. The staff went out of their way to make them feel like queens. The food was exquisite, highlighted by the signature bread pudding. All of our meals were perfectly prepared and dining here was an experience we will remember the rest of our lives. Thank you to Ms. Brennan and to Jillian our exceptional server!
Delightful, food with love and respect and good service
My family went here for the Jazz Brunch. The atmosphere is beautiful, the staff is attentive and helpful. The drinks are amazing. The food is good, I was expecting more from the menu and reputation from the food, but nothing was bad. Also, be sure to wear a collared shirt, they are more than happy to throw you out for not wearing one.
Visited on 11/18/2018. This was a very enjoyable experience with incredible service that is like a well choreographed ballet. I enjoyed my Sazerac cocktail and Waygu beef.
There is no finer experience in the city of New Orleans.
Worth the hype. Delicious food and well worth the money.
A go to for anyone visiting New Orleans. Their three course brunch menu was divine. The food is excellent. The hospitality is exceptional. The ambiance is unforgettable. It is Southern hospitality at its best!
Such a fantastic spot to grab a nice dinner with friends and family! When you are guided to your table, you will be walked through their open kitchen. They have a large, open, outdoor patio along with many indoor tables which can cater to large parties. The menu is expansive, but they are well known for their turtle soup. Be sure to let your server know if you have any food allergies and they will gladly accommodate. I highly recommend this restaurant for special events such as birthday dinners.
Every glowing review is true. Stellar food, drinks and service. Beautiful neighborhood to cruise as well.
MUST READ! THIS PLACE... was something else. Every single exotic flavor was paired perfectly. I had the 3 course and it was phenomenal. Every bite was exquisite. I'm from south Florida. This is my 2nd time in NOLA in the last 3 years and the food in this town in my opinion isn't all that it's hyped up to be. You guys just haven't tried food in Miami!!! But this place... Kendall, Billy, and Kevin. You 3 made our dining experience one to remember. You truly care about our comfort and our satisfaction. Kendall, if we weren't too excited about something, you made sure it was made right, and cared about our dining experience. Thank you to the co-owner, Ti, For personally coming to greet us, and wish us a safe trip back home, before this category 4 storm hits us labor this day. Thank Commander's Palace. You made our NOLA trip.
The food was outstanding, the service great but somewhat over the top.
There is a good reason that Commander's Palace is considered one of the best restaurants in the world. Don't even try to get in without a reservation and please dress nicely.
OMG. Visiting Tulane. Toured the Garden district by downloading the FREE self guided app and stumbled upon THE COMMANDERS PALACE. With no reservation, be sure to get in at 11:30. The service, food and setting are outstanding. Thank you Server Lorenzo and Tour guide/Manager Michael on day one. So thoroughly enjoyed the experience we came back day 2. Thank you Server Edward. Most enjoyable experience in NOLA!
This is an enjoyable restaurant experience with attentive wait staff that make it their goal to ensure a positive experience. They try to create the atmosphere of an elegant restaurant.
However, I believe their popularity has lead to a focus on quantity instead of quality. Their food was enjoyed, but it did not match the quality experienced years ago and the ongoing hype about the restaurant.
The problem isn't being a restaurant that lowers quality to serve more people. The problem is doing that while trying to be an upscale restaurant with expensive prices. The food is nowhere near worth it's cost.
Great experience. Service is excellent and 25 cent martinis you just cant beat.
Do not go here unless you re wearing a tux apparently. Me and my partner got asked to leave because we were wearing shorts. Apparently dress shorts and button ups do not matter either. It was very embarrassing and I do not recommend this place. We were very excited to try out this restaurant I ve heard nothing but great things about but my partner and I felt very discriminated against.
It's 95 degrees and they insist I wear at least black slacks in this heat to dine here. I'm on vacation and I brought only light shorts. Apparently that wasn't formal enough for lunch and they wouldn't even let us in.
A New Orleans institution that actually lives up to its reputation. The service was particularly noteworthy -- everyone was so nice and attentive. The food was excellent as well. I really appreciated the use of local ingredients. The Citrus Fish was especially good.
This was the best place we ate at while in New Orleans. I would highly recommend it.
Amazing Jazz and Tasty Food....you just can't go wrong
We had lunch there on April 8. The food was very good and the service was nice. But we were seated upstairs in the middle of the room between two tables of 6 ladies each side of us. There were just the two couples of us. The acoustics up there were horrible. We could not even carry on a conversation. This pretty much ruined our experience there...as we had heard such wonderful things about the restaurant. When we mentioned the noise to our waitress she just said, "I'm sorry." So if you go there be sure and sit downstairs or anywhere but up!
The service at this restaurant is by far one of the best that I have ever experienced. I took my best friend here for her birthday and the food was delicious; everything was amazing from our cocktail drinks to the dessert! Our waiter Lorenzo was the best and I will always visit this restaurant from now on whenever I visit New Orleans.
Excellent! All! Place, kitchen, cellar, staff attention.
The service was amazing as well as the food. To top it off ot was my birthday. A must go!
Had brunch there for my birthday and it was phenomenal! Great service and awesome food.
Another great meal with great service! It was worth the trip from Atlanta!
I work there and it's a great place to eat and have fun meet new people
Lovely restaurant. Service impeccable and very helpful. Food presentation and tasted incredibly good.
Great food, staff very helpful and margaritas are the best
We had a really fun brunch at Commander's palace. cocktails and food were awesome, would highly recommend the strawberry shortcake! the staff and service were awesome! would love to come back!
Came here on a company meeting when visiting New Orleans. Beginning of January. Let me just say how UNPROFESSIONAL the manager was. Had a party of 10, last minute we added two more people. The best they could do is put a two top right next to the party of 10- just think about how awkward that is. I simply asked can we just move the two top over two inches so we can be with the entire group. The manager came over and said no because we would throw off the entire kitchen and mess everything up. Being in the restaurant industry for 10 plus years I was simply confused why we could not slide the table over two inches. Considering how my company was about to drop $1,000 plus dollars. The manager came over again and I said we would even order our food after everyone if thats easier. He proceeded to scream in my face, told me to get up so he can move the table, threw the silverware down on the table that it went flying and caused a complete scene. I have never in my life witnessed a manager of a high end restaurant throw a temper tantrum. The wait staff was MORTIFIED and were attentive throughout dinner. They apologized numerous times- they were deeply sorry and I was thrilled with their service. The manager is a short older man - his behavior was so unacceptable and put a bad taste in everyone s mouth. Food was good but I would not recommend eating here because of the scene he caused.
Fantastic restaurant that really shows you the best of New Orleans food. Came here for lunch with some friends and wasn't disappointed. Once they take you though the kitchen area en route to your table, you'll be helped by delightful serving staff, and visited by a roving jazz band. Loved the vibe of the place and would absolutely come back just for it.
10/10 would be here the next time I'm in New Orleans.
The Friday brunch was a great experience. Also delicious food. Would not recommend the turtle soup though.
This might be one of the best restaurants in the US. It is worth visiting New Orleans just to have the immense pleasure of eating here. You will not be disappointed. Every plate is an explosion of flavors in your mouth that you will never expect. I had the luncheon which included turtle soup, quail and the bread pudding for dessert. Simply amazing. I dream about coming back to this place and it's been less than a month since I was there.
Awesome service, twenty five cent cosmopolitan, beautiful garden, great food, what's not to love?
Martini lunch is a must do. Service was excellent and food was fantastic.
Very good food with good service. You have be dressed up for this place. Get their famous turtle soup, strawberry shortcake and souffle. Best go for lunch, price is much cheaper and you can order $0.25 Martini
Subpar service, bland to poor tasting food, extremely disappointing overall.
Commanders palace is a real treat. It doesn't matter what you order, it's going to be delicious! The service is amazing and the atmosphere is wonderful. It's just a real treat to spend an evening dining here. And don't forget to order the milk punch, you won't regret it!
Absolutely amazing!! The food, the service and the atmosphere are just hands downs the best dining experience we've had. My wife and I live in Minneapolis and would fly down for the day just to go to Commander's Palace.
Hotel was good needs to try experience its own rooms to see why layout does not work. 2 sinks no towels near by. no counter to put hair dryer. no counter to even put brush or tooth brush cup of water curved edges on sinks so no sides to place anything
Food is amazing. Execution on point. Would definitely come back. Thank you for an incredible time!
An icon of New Orleans! Great food and outstanding service.
Absolutely best restaurant to splurge on wonderful service and amazing food.
Delicious turtle soup! We had a fabulous meal, but the restaurant was incredibly loud and the service was a tick slow. It took us almost 2 hours to have apps and entrees, and we had no special orders.
Such a great time! It started off with a tour of the property and then .25 cent Martini's. From there, the service was spectacular and then the food blew me away.
I had this pulled pork dish that blew me away. Really wasn't expecting it to be so good.
Highly recommend for a family gathering or a stop on your tourism adventure in New Orleans. Definitely something very unique that you can't find anywhere else.
The owner even came by our table to make sure we were doing well. One of the oldest restaurants in america.
Make sure to make a reservation because it's a very highly daughter after seat to get. Good for the whole family. Kids and all.
Great experience! The pear and sage martini was wonderful. Hubby enjoyed the gumbo (regrets that he couldn't do both gumbo and turtle soup). Our meals were unique and so flavorful and delicious. Service was spot on. Ended our meal with the bread pudding souffle.
It was a lot of fun if you come here go to the cafe du monde and don't forget to do a ghost tour before you leave that will give you the chills head to toe and to top it off buy merch and souviners to take back home but the only down side is is the trash but hey it's a small town cramed together but over all!!!!! It will be the time of your life I promise
It was my birthday and in the beginning, we were worried dressing up casually. I was right, the service treated you based on how you dressed up although everyone forcibly greeted you as their policy. We're from out of state and was not able to brought fancy clothes, but we looked normal. I saw other guest dressed casually like we do so, I COMPLAINED TWICE
where we get seated at. Our server never did asked about the occasion. Saw and heard him asked everyone else who looked normal like we do... Anyways, the food presentation looked good, but the taste was average.. Lastly, went there for the food and experience ehhhh....The price does not match the taste, except for the turtle soup and the experience was hurtful...
Outstanding service! Our wait staff was beyond accommodating. A real class experience with great food and good company. Check out the garden and their house cookbooks!
This is a $$$ restaurant that is 125 years old. You will have 3 staff members assigned to your table. The selections are diverse and all are very good. We will most likely come back.
A must try for the food and the experience. So much history and the food really is fantastic.
This is our favorite restaurant, we love the Saturday or Sunday jazz brunch in the patio room. The service and food are first class.
Pretty amazing menu, food, and drinks. Top notch quality and care of both service and food. If you want a full experience in New Orleans, then go here!
SOOOOOO worth it!! Went for my birthday lunch and it was the soooo yummy the blueberry cobbler cookie dough was perfection!!
Excellent food and service. Probably the best filet mignon I've ever had. The creme brule is phenomenal.
Excellent entrees and even better dessert. Great venue for a special dinner.
WONDERFUL DINING EXPERIENCE.
Jazz brunch was fabulous! Warm welcomes from the moment we walked into the door. Excellent food quality, presentation and service. Surprised with a smiling Miss Lally coming to visit our table; and even a birthday serenade from the jazz band! The entire visit was delicious!
Thank you for your Louisiana charm and excellence.
