Cog Hill is the epitome of what is wrong with growing this game...

First, they will not take your reservation if you are a single. They make you just show up and try to lodge you into the rotation.

The second issue...they are trying to shove as many people as possible onto the course which leads to rounds that are way too long. No rangers...no pace of play...just standing on tee boxes watching people take their 7th shot from 200 yards out

This is a tourist attraction...nothing more...there are a lot of better options in the area for a better price...save your time and money

I have been going here for about 4 years now for IJGA events, thier PGA-JLG Program and i have never had a bad experience. Personally, i have played all 4 courses here (Course 1, Course 2 (Ravines), Course 3, and Dubsdread). Sure, occasionally the greens are overgrown, but that is made up quickly by the great staff.

A great golf course with 4 full 18 courses that will challenge any level of golfer from scratch to bogey handicaps. Go for Dubs Dread if you dare, but I'd be sure to bring an extra sleeve of balls or two...

We were here for a wedding. It's a beautiful place, and the bathroom was very clean. The food was also very good. That being said, I only gave it 4 stars because we had asked for coffee when they were serving the cake, there were coffee cups on the table as well as bowls of creamer. We were finished with dessert, still no coffee. We decided to go to the bar instead. They cleared the tables, including the coffee cups. After they finished clearing the tables, they brought out carafes of coffee. No cups to drink it out of, just carafes of coffee. What??

We have always enjoyed Doughnuts and Doubles outings. I did not see it listed on this years calendar and I hope it has not been discontinued. The outings have always been well organized. Thanks in advance for providing this well appreciated event for seniors.

What a great party. . .ten stars to Dan, Tom and their staff!
Our family recently held my husband s 60th surprise birthday party at Cog Hill following his Friday golf league. Discreetly working with them could not have been easier, as the guest list grew so did the accommodations. The food received rave reviews, the recommendations for our crowd were spot on. We felt the entire Cog Hill staff was totally involved that evening, were so kind to our guests and absolutely committed to making us happy. A great memory we will never forget.

Wonderful facility cloaked in so many different parts of golf history as it is/was the home of the Western Golf Association. Course 2 is tournament track but 4 is every bit as exciting. 1/3 are also great tests of shot making and creativity.

The 19th hole on course 4 allows golfers a special view of the 18th on course 2, it s the famous walk Tiger woods made in 1997 with thousands of patrons on his way to winning the 1997 Western Open.

Course 1 is fun and different variety of holes. With multiple tees and greens for some holes a new challenge usually awaits.

#4 was in great shape and loved the challenge. Would love to play it again when the greens heal from plugging. Driving range with Top Golf tracer. Course #2 was the playback course we did that day. It was less than desired. It is obvious that #4 gets all the attention but for $35 plus tax play back it was fine.

Cog Hill is the best of the best. Dubsdred is very fun, challenging and frustrating. Nice driving range.. lastly, the golf instructors associated with CH are top notch. We use Carol for our kids and she is AMAZING.

Horribly backed up, late start then took 3 1/2 hours to play 11 holes. Not a ranger in sight. Jumped ahead and found multiple vacant holes on the back 9. That being said, the course is in good shape, I don't have almost 6 hours to play a round of golf.

We had my Dad's 80th birthday party there this year. The facilities, staff and food was exceptional.

Cog Hill made this a great experience for my Dad and family. I would recommend this venue to have a special event.

Went to Cog hill on a Sunday, played course 3... course was well kept and rate of play was on par. During COVID no rakes in the sand or ball washers. They did have their stand at the turn open which I appreciate on a 90 degree day. Overall good round of golf and worth the extra couple of bucks over some near by courses.

Their website states the driving range is open until 7pm this time of year. I arrived after work at 5:05 to a locked door and an employee giving me a thumbs down sign. The inaccurate website and employee left me extremely frustrated - hard to see myself returning.

Cog Hill is a family-owned Country Club with 4 golf courses, a fantastic golf practice facility, which includes a large driving range where you can hit off either mats or natural grass, and several practice putting greens. The facility also has a very fine restaurant and bar located in the main Clubhouse along with a smaller Lunch Counter type Eatery where you can grab a quick bite before you tee off or after your round. Each of the four Golf Courses also has it's own Snack Shack located between the 9th green and the 10th tee where the golfer can re-energize before continuing play. Golf carts are available and recommended since the area is quite hilly. Cog Hill also has a number of golf stores which sell everything the modern golfer needs such as equipment ( clubs, balls, tees, gloves, etc..) Golf Apparel, golf shoes, golf umbrellas, yardage laser rangefinders to yardage guides, instruction books, DVDs and just about anything else the average golfer could need or want. The entire facility is open to the public 365 days a year( with the exception of some special events during which some areas and Facilities would be closed to the General Public ). The golf practice facilities open at Daybreak on the weekend , 6:30 a.m. on the weekdays, and close at dusk everyday. Reservations for tee times are recommended especially for the weekend.
You may think,by this review, that I am an employee at Cog Hill and I assure you that I am not,( although I was a marshall at several Western Open tournaments in the early 1990s), I started golfing in the early 1970s at Cog Hill, I'm now in my early sixties, still golf, and still use the facilities at Cog Hill and hopefully will for many years to come. Golf is a great game at any age and Cog Hill is a great place to practice and play.

Played course #3 for the first time. Was in good condition, although it seemed the greens were quite slow. not sure if they had been cut the day we visited. Had the famous cog dog at the turn and it was delish. I'll definately be back to try some of the other courses. price was right.

Played course #3 and loved it. The heritage and history of the course is ever present. Fabulous conditions and magnificent mature trees. Loved every second of my experience. Cannot wait to get out there again, hopefully to play #2 or #4

Played course number 1 on 4/23/17. All greens were 100% aerated. Putted balls bounced to holes and would not hold any line. Aeration holes in some areas were not filled with sand. Course charged 100% rate and when I complained they said there was nothing they could do. Greens fees being charged for the condition of these greens is not worth the money. Recommend playing alternative courses due to the poor quality of these greens and prices being charged.
