Dubbs is one of the best courses around. It is pricey but worth the cost. Number 2 is your next best option. Much easier and alot cheaper but still a nice course. 1 and 3 are very easy and not near as good.

Cog course 1-3 are very enjoyable. Dubs on the other hand is not worth the $150 green fee. I did play it after the renovation and really did not care for it other than it used to be a PGA Tour stop. The service there is excellent. Only disappointing thing here is there are tons of group outings here and I rarely see any Rangers trying to force them to play fast. So a typical round on a weekend here can go up to 6 hours long if you do not have an early or late afternoon tee time. The Twilight rates are excellent as well.

UPDATE 6/5/16: They now have a limited amount of Golf Boards. Very fun to use.

Wide open, clean, beautiful golf course with lots of scenic sights. Spike who presently works at Seven Lakes Golf Course in Fort Myers, Florida would enjoy working here at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club.

I highly recommend Cog Hill for an event space. The service and food were fabulous for our daughter's wedding. The space is truly beautiful -- especially this time of year. Many thanks to Jenny, our coordinator who really helped pull everything together so wonderfully!

The course Marshalls were very rude. Told us twice to pick up the pace, when we weren't holding anyone up, and we weren't waiting on anyone. We played 18 in 4 hours. The really ruined our round, didn't enjoy it as much. Drive 400 miles and paid $70 for a rushed round. Will not be going back there again. Fairways were great, greens had room for improvement, quality pretty good. The old retired farts for Marshalls need to go.

A group of us guys played the courses 2 day. It is in great shape however the sand traps needed tending to some were hardpan and others were too soft which made it inconsistency playing out of them it made the game tough however played well I wish I could have played better. If you have never played the course I recommended at least once to try and play it they do have reasonable rates for Twilight rates.

Place is absolutely beautiful. I ve placed courses 1,2, and 4. Dubs was definitely a challenge for me as I don t play very often, although it was a great time just to be with people I love playing golf in a beautiful course. 10/10 would go back!

I recently visited for a baby shower. The food was wonderful and the staff were very friendly. The restroom was upstairs which was difficult to get to for some of us that have difficulty with stairs.

Had been a few years since playing Cog Hill. Ravines was in very good condition. Only negative of the round (played mid-day Monday) was the amount of grounds crew on the course with some not giving way to play. One worker on the green waved me up and was only 20 feet from the pin.

We were stuck at every single hole waiting for 3-4 parties ahead of us. Unacceptable for a club as well-reputed as Cog Hill. Especially considering there were no rangers out enforcing pace of play. We didn t finish past hole 14 because of it. Sad to say we were extremely excited to come play for the first time and heavily disappointed by our experience. Also the course seemed poorly maintained, hardly any grass on tee boxes and disheveled rough on course No 1.

I have lunch here quite often, the service is excellent! The food is always fresh and tasty, your best bet is always the special! If you have any leftovers they take care in wrapping them up for you and even include directions on reheating!

High end golf course. Extremely well maintained. Excellent off course facilities as well. Not a walk friendly course because you dont come back where you started. Recommend taking the cart at all times.

Review for Dubsdread/overall experience: The course was in fantastic shape, and is one of the best challenging courses in the area. I would give the course 4.5 stars. I am giving the overall experience 2 stars though. We ordered 4 caddies, but got two, then we were told we had to ride when we wanted to walk on a cart path only day. Ended up with 2 caddies that were very nice, but very unexperienced, and practically did nothing for us during the round. Weren't grabbing the pins, weren't raking bunkers, had to be asked to do most things. No significant golf knowledge. Caddies aside, for the caliber of the course, you would expect better; the pro shop staff was confused and didnt have answers to our questions, the carts were old, and not many solutions were offered to our issues. When paying 155 to play a round of golf, I expect better.

We had the most BEAUTIFUL wedding at Cog Hill! My husband and I were going crazy trying to plan a safe wedding for us and our guests during a pandemic without losing the feel of having a real wedding ceremony and reception. The whole Cog Hill staff made this a reality for us and we could not be happier! Jenny, Marissa, Serena, and Rob Dog ensured every aspect of my wedding could be done safely and beautifully from the very beginning. On the day of my wedding their wait staff did an amazing job and the food was spectacular. I still have guests raving about the food over two weeks later! We originally planned to have our ceremony outside, but it started to rain a half hour before my ceremony and the staff transformed the reception area into my new ceremony location seamlessly. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this venue, its staff, and the flawless execution of my wedding. The facility is also breathtaking and our photos are absolutely gorgeous. Cog Hill fits everyone's wedding vision whether its outdoor greenery or indoor rustic beauty. It was truly a day we will never forget!

Cog Hill #1 (Blue Course) was in great shape yesterday. Fairway and greens were cut and greens were fast and with difficult pin placements on some holes. Newer cart paths and repaired paths and everything in place. Bunkers had sand , but not soft, but raked. Beautiful sunny day, great views and trees were changing color, with few golfers on a crisp Fall Day. Very enjoyable.

Went for a wedding. The food was really good. The place was pretty. Only complaint was the bathrooms being on a different floor. Too many trips up and down stairs over the 7 hours we were there.

I played course #2, "The Ravines." This course has fourteen good holes, some of them great. The first and last holes are quite mundane. It is very dissappointing to finish on a short weak hole. The middle holes are beautiful and challenging. The par 3 holes are dramatic and their greens are fun to putt on. This course is worth a try.

I took my father out to Cog Hill No.4: Dubs. He had never been and I thought since he had recently retired it would be a fun experience. Mind you he lives 2.5 hours away and made the drive. I have never written a review on Google but felt compelled based on my experience.I hope the people at Cog Hill read this because I m not coming back, and I hope others will think twice about this if they re hoping to get service and a real high level golf experience. Truly shocking from a place that has hosted PGA Tour events.

Let me start with the good: the course was well maintained, greens rolled smooth and true, and overall a challenging test of golf that requires quality ball striking and control. It taxes your physically and mentally. I ve played before and it s a little easier the second time around just because you understand where you can miss which is really anywhere.

Is it worth $155 solely based on the course condition and layout? Probably not quite that much... $115- $130, but I get it s got some history so, ok. TPC Deere Run, Mistwood, The Glen Club, or Cantigny are PUBLIC, are more fun in my opinion, in the same shape, less expensive, and offer a much more upscale experience from clubhouse, food, range, etc.

Now, let s talk about the bad... there s a lot. We booked a tee time for 1:20 three days ago. I arrive at the course and the place is swamped. It appears there s an outing which doesn t necessarily surprise me but I didn t think it would be on No.4. I head to the club house which I can t even get in the front door because of the Pipefitters Union outing. I go in and the person in the club house informs me that we ll need to go off number 10 tee so we can stay ahead of the outing that he informs me they booked AFTER they took my tee time. Ok, no big deal, people start on back 9 s regularly.

Now, being as this is $155 round, you receive complimentary warm up balls. So I Grab my cart and the seats have rips, no scorecard, no tees... I guess there s GPS so that s something.

Ihead down to the range where I get balls but am told that I need to move down the other range there because the outing would be hitting from the nicer range. The range I hit on was a joke... it was so chewed up that me and another guy just laughed as we searched for an actual piece of grass to hit off. For $155, let me hit off some grass.

After warming up, we head to the 10 tee around 1:10 to get started. Upon arriving, there s already one group off, and another waiting. I talk to them and they say they re a part of the outing. I ask what time they re supposed to be going out and they don t really have a set time. There s no one there from the clubhouse; no starter at the tee to govern traffic. They said they won t me out because the people in front of them already went. So, I M forced to figure out what s happening and run back to the clubhouse. They tell me that my playing partner was told that we needed to tee off at 1:00 if we wanted to get out ahead of them which he must not have heard but beyond that, it s absurd. They literally changed the tee time between when I checked and when he did giving him no time to really warm up. This is reputable, $155 round, not Jonny down at the local muni.

So after discussing this, we re told to drive to 11 tee. While waiting to hit, the group from the outing comes up and already waiting on us. Three times then during our first 9 they hit into us which was a treat. Also, never saw one drink cart except when it was tending to the outing. Never came passed us though.

I was at the country club for a friends wedding. I'd have to say the venue was gorgeous, the reception hall is breathtaking! My only gripe is that the bartender did not tell us until after we got our drink that it was not open bar yet. It didn't change my mind but I'd like to be told before I order.
