I hired Code With Power for SEO services. After using numerous US and off shore based contractors, I decided to try to use a small local business for a long term relationship. This is a husband and wife team of Joel Newport and Michelle Newport in Memphis, TN. I signed their standard minimum 90 day contract with the intent to use them well beyond 90 days and to expand the contract from one website to three. Over the course of 90 days I have no idea what work they actually performed and could not get the type of information I specifically requested and that was referenced in their contract (e.g., specific keyword research and phrases to select appropriate, relevant search terms; obtaining links; editing and/or optimization of text for various html tags, meta data, page titles, and page text as necessary; analysis and recommendations on optimal website structure, navigation, code, etc. creating additional web pages or content for the purpose of catching keyword/phrase searches, etc.). Instead, I got standard google analytics and webmaster reports, which I already had access to. When I requested specific kw phrases and ranking reports, my requests were ignored. Then, as soon as the 90 days was up, they vanished. I repeatedly called and left vm messages that were met with excuses and then a final email stating that they were not going to keep the promised meeting to review their progress, advising me that they had already stopped servicing my website, changing the terms of our engagement and demanding advance payment by the close of the day! Hence, my side of the contract required a 30-day written notice , but they gave me one day. I sent a follow up email and never heard from them again. The reason? Because the rate we charge doesn t justify the amount of time spent for explanations (of their work). There was no real attempt made by them to address their problem, they just dumped me. It has been over two months now and I am still trying to recover from the mess they left me with. It is all too clear now that they were NOT willing to be accountable and transparent and wanted a 90 revenue stream with no plan to deliver. Unless you want to provide a revenue stream, with NO real accountability or proof of work, and are willing to risk your site being jeopardized by a work stoppage without notice, STAY AWAY from code with power. I would NEVER recommend them to a small business owner. Reply: We do have separate lines of business that require separate marketing campaigns, which we discussed with Joel prior to starting. At that time he indicated it was not a problem. The content is not duplicate, are not clones and have never been tagged as such by any third party before. While the CWP results were not great, which led me to my requests for reports and more specific information, my problem was with the way my questions were handled, particularly in the last 30 days and the way I was dropped cold, with a one notice, and terminated. Based on their response, it appears that they took my questioning their work the wrong way and thought I was trying to learn how to do SEO instead of trying to understand what they were doing and what the actual results were. It was this type of response that characterizes the way I was treated and that led to this review. Their response also indicates that I was seen as a $250 contract and unfortunately my questions about their results were not welcome. Also notice that in their response they take NO responsibility for any problems. The mess occurred as result of the way I was abruptly term d, with a one day notice to pay for the next 30 days or be term d, which then left me in a bind and subsequent mess , as originally stated. Sorry you are taking this as a personal attack. Not my intention. I was not commenting on Michelle as your wife , but as your primary point of contact she was the one representing your company.

Very impressed with the talent and ability of Code with Power. The dedication and performance of your company has produced my volume of business extremely. Thank you for everything you have done.

I just want to let everyone know what a wonderful job Code with Power is doing for our company! I watched them work their magic last year on a competitor's website and was very jealous of the rankings that they were able to accomplish for a little known company in just one year. It is truly a testament to their work ethic and knowledge to be able to accelerate an unknown company into the limelight to compete against the "big boys". I highly recommend their work and them as a viable, low cost option to "pay per clicks" and other advertising that hasn't proved effective for us yet.
