Unprofessional staff. Didn t run my insurance until I had already been seen and then told me that they couldn t run it. One of the employees with red hair started getting loud with my mother trying to figure out why they didn t run my insurance. Told them from the beginning that I had insurance and even put it on the paperwork and they still didn t not run it to check. Never going back to them!!
Very friendly and professional! I was a little late showing up for my appointment and they made me feel like it wasn t a big deal and they were happy to see me. I loved my doctor!
The actual service was very nice and the associates were professional however once my eye exam was done I was told I had to purchase a pair of bifocals which would be progressive. I was fine with that even though they were more expensive. I decided to take my prescription to another company to compare prices. It was at the other company that they took the time to explain I had OPTIONS, I could either purchase bifocals or just purchase glasses for seeing distance because reading a book is not a problem for me. Lenscrafters did not even explain my eye prescription or my options they just decided for me. I don't think that was the proper way to help me get the best glasses of MY choice. I just think they should talk a little more with the customer about their contact lenses and glasses. I had both done and was told my contacts had to be ordered but was never asked which type I wanted. I actually feel like i made a poor decision choosing Lenscrafters and would not recommend it to friends or family.
My exam was the worst that I ve had there in all the years that I ve been going there. First off everytime I go there is a new optometrist. Secondly my exam lasted less than 5 mins and I didn t get my questions answered. I told the doctor that I couldn t see what he was showing and he just kept going... I believe my right eye prescription is wrong bc it wasn t done correctly and he didn t address my questions about it. I asked them to redo it... they made me wait over 3 hours before telling me that the dr refused to redo it. Also they were talking about me and my situation in front of me and other customers and put people who came after me before me. They were unprofessional and this company is unethical.
Everyone was caring and patient. The receptionist, the technician, and the person that assisted me in choosing a frame. Very knowledgeable and kind.
The appointment was very quick, the tech and the dr were both very nice and informative.
My husband had not had an eye exam in 14 years. We were very pleased and will definitely NOT wait another 14 years. The doctor and support staff was very efficient and professional and I ESPECIALLY like the fact that the doctor took the time to explain everything to me. It not only eased my mind but left me more informed than before.
I love Lens Crafters of Florence, but the Independent Optometry Asscoiates (not the Dr) are very unprofessional. I've been going to this Eye Dr since 2010 and I've never experienced the poor service as I have recently. Unless new front desk associates are hired, I will not be back. I like the fact that they are open 7 days a week but the associates don't seem to care about upholding a professional image and serviving their patients.
Last Saturday I scheduled an eye exam for this Saturday at 5:30. The representative I spoke with at the desk wrote down my information and scheduled the appointment for this Saturday.
I asked my very pregnant girlfriend to take me in case my eyes needed to be dilated, but when we arrived early at 5:20 the office was closed. Mind you, the hours are displayed until 6pm today.
A representative from LensCrafters told us the office closed after their last appointment. I told her I was the last appointment based off of what I was told last Saturday...
The representative apologized again and repetitively told us the office was closed. We rearranged both of our schedules for this supposed 5:30 appointment. Our schedules also run tight because of our child s due date coming up.
I never received a phone call stating my appointment was moved. I don t think it s much to ask to be courteous to your patients. This was extremely inconvenient and unprofessional.
I wouldn t recommend this office.
I have been getting eye exams from Coastal Grand Eye Associates for years. Always wear the same brand of contacts. For some reason, the doctor today would not give me my prescription for contact lenses. He said nothing about this during or after the exam. When I went to check out, the receptionist said I would have to return to get my contact lens prescription after I put in a pair of the same exact ones I was wearing today. I have never had this happen and I don't understand why he couldn't look at the new pair that I was wearing today. Now, I have to find time in my schedule to return for something ridiculous! I can understand if I was new to contacts or changing brands, but nothing has changed. I'm not even a new patient there!
The doctor was very precise and listened to my medical history without rushing my exam. I appreciated the staff who all so kind and helpful. I will be returning back.
My experience with Coastal Grand Eye Associates (Florence, SC location) was wonderful! I highly recommend this practice.
I was very pleased with my visit. Dr Cronauer was very patient with me in listening to my concerns and explaining my options for contacts as I have not been happy with my previous prescription, by another doctor. He was excellent in explaining my options and answering all of my questions. He is an asset to this practice! I will be recommending to my friends!
Great experience. Staff exceeded my expectations and was extremely courteous. Physician was great, personable and went over my exam findings with what seemed to be a very caring attitude. There was no rush to get me in and send me on my way. Liked that attention very much. Overall a very positive experience. Thank.
The lady that started us was great. The man that helped us not only did an excellent job, he also educated my son to the dangers of blue light. My son is 9, and believes there's no scientific evidence to back up that games and videos are bad for your eyes. The man who waited on us had been doing his job for 30 years, so now my son is convinced.
I saw Dr. Reed for my contact exam. I have been wearing contacts for years now and was slightly frustrated with the fact that they would not just give me the prescription for the contacts. However, I got the exam a week before I was scheduled to move out of state and they were able and willing to make sure I was able to come back in for the contact fit exam before I left. The other Dr that I saw was very professional and very helpful. I would definitely recommend to anyone. The only complaint I have is that I couldn't get my actual prescription same day.

My daughters and I arrived at 11:30 a.m. as walk ins. They needed eye exams, and I had a contact lens follow up visit. We were seen within ten minutes. They both picked out new glasses, and their glasses were ready in less than an hour. Great place with helpful, excellent staff!
Doctor Shake and staff were awesome. They were very professional but also very personable. They took time to explain examination and results.
Had a 4:15 appointment and it is 5:20 and we are still waiting. No excuses for poor planning. If you can t see them on time don t book them.

Dr. Reid & Exam was excellent. However, Magnolia Eye Associates is inside of a Lenscrafters location, and AARP shows a discount for AARP members at Lenscrafters, including a $55 exam, which is not honored at this Lenscrafter location, reason stated was that Magnolia Eye Associates does not have a AARP discount. Then they should have their own facility. The association between Lenscrafter and the eye exam vendor they have contracted with should be consistent. I will be contacting AARP to request that they restate their discount policy for Lenscrafter since the eye exam was not as posted.
The doctor, Dr. Reed, was awesome, as well as the assistant. However, upon checkout, I let the lady know (I do not know her name) that my husband and I both had EyeMed coverage at through our individual employers on which everyone was covered and I would wanted to use his coverage for our appointments. The dress on being that under his, our exams were free and unde mine, they were $25 each. This would have been $100, as our family of 4 was getting exams. She told me that she had already run everyone through my insurance and I would have to pay and get reimbursed.
She had done this before she even called me up to the counter. I had never had this issue before when I went to other doctor s offices. They always confirmed my info before running everything theough. I attributed it to the fact that the doctor was leaving early and they were trying to get out of there, and she jumped the gun. That is fine. Everyone makes mistakes. What I do not appreciate, was that she caught an obvious attitude with me, rolling her eyes, speaking in a condescending tone, etc, when I explained to her that I would not be paying for the exams when I had insurance that allowed me to not do so. I had come there with plans to use my money toward the purchase of eyeglasyat the connected LensCrafters. Also, I was going to order my daughter s contact lenses. However, after straightening everything out, they just got us out of there and we didn t get to order them. I felt that I was being punished for her assumption of using a different insurance other than than one that I intended. I am being generous by giving the theee stars. It is for the doctor and his assistant. I am taking two off for the checkout experience and the clerk that completed it.
My eye exam was good. The staff were pleasant and made sure I had my needs met.
Dr. Shake and his staff are awesome!! First eye exam ever, so I was a little worried. They answered all of my questions and took the time to explain everything to me. I will definitely return!!!

Dr. DeYoung is the best eye doctor in the history of ever. He is kind and efficient. He knows his stuff! I refuse to see any other eye doctor because Dr. DeYoung is so good. Do your eyes a favor and go see him! Hana and her team on the business side are awesome too! I have an excellent experience every time.
