I would not spend $30 for two people to take this tour. This is definitely overpriced compared to what you get to see - CNN staffs working in a fish bowl - some hanging TV cameras and monitors - some fun facts and average videos - no photos are allowed. Finally, comes the worst part - they take your podium photo and print them in an album and ask for $35-$50 more - seriously what's the point of this business? They are going to trash those already 'printed' photo albums if we decline to accept them - as we did.

I'm giving the tour 2 stars instead of 1 because my tour guide was incredibly friendly and the staff was wonderful. That being said, this tour is not worth the $15 price. It is billed as a 50-minute studio tour but was actually a 30 minute tour of seeing employees staring at their computer monitors plus a 6-minute video and trip to the gift shop. Our entire tour (including the extras) was 40 minutes after which we were told that the tour was originally begun as a way for Ted Turner to charge people to ride the world's longest free standing escalator (which remains a tour highlight). The only studio we saw (through a glass wall) was for HLN, all of their CNN broadcasters are located in NYC (probably a better place for them to give a tour). If you've done the NBC studio tour in NY (which is really cool), don't expect this visit to be like it (as I did). You won't see any sets or control rooms. There was one prop desk at which guests can sit for a professional photo (your own pictures aren't allowed at this stop). I declined to have my photo taken after finding out the price to purchase it is $20 or $30 if you want a digital download...

I did enjoy lunch in the atrium where they have a ton of food options and huge screens broadcasting CNN.

Following this excursion I visited the World of Coke which I can't recommend highly enough. For the same price ($15), I have spent hours looking at exhibits, participating in interactive entertainment, and tasting sodas. If you have kids with you, the World of Coke instead of CNN is a no brainier. Your kids will love the tasting room and 4D theater plus the opportunities to make on screen Coke art and attempt to draw the Coca-Cola logo.

I hate to negatively review CNN, which I respect, but after having an amazing day at the Jimmy Carter Library ($8 ticket, and I spent 4 hours very interested and engaged) and having a great time at World of Coke, I felt compelled to make fellow Atlanta visitors aware. For an outing with your family, CNN really isn't worth the price tag.

CNN center is the CNN staff office building. When I came to Atlanta, I didn't feel like I had been to Atlanta. The square of the building is basically a gourmet area, mostly based on American food, burgers, sandwiches, ice cream and the like.
The CNN Tour is very worthy of participation. It will take you to some of the working backgrounds and props of the news production. However, the tour process does not open the photo, but it will let you simulate the anchor and broadcast the microphone with the microphone. The background is to use the key. You can purchase the photo after the tour. Basically, the first time someone goes to 100% will buy that photo!
Because CNN is an important media, it is also very likely to suffer from terrorist attacks. Therefore, security inspection is very strict, and it is wonderful to be alert when visiting.
The CNN Store on the first floor is worth visiting. Friends who like CNN can buy some CNN-related souvenirs, especially the mugs. When they go to work, they feel like they are drinking water. Haha.
If the budget permits, it is recommended to stay at the Omni Hotel next door. It is a special memory to call the room at CNN Square.

It was a fun tour. I recommend getting the City Pass. I didn't take any pictures, as you are not supposed to within the building. Tour guided so they can explain different attributes to the workings of CNN and affiliates.

In this visit, I took the tour that starts every 20min. It's not too long and you get to see the actual studios from where they broadcast the news. It's a nice thing to do, a bit pricey though: $14 each adult. The building itself is so cool that it's worth the visit.

If you want to learn how news broadcasting works this place is good. Went with kids not much for kids and for me too it s not appealing as tickets are pricey and all we get is lectures about how studio works. A short movie about cnn to start the guided tour followed by guide showing different rooms. At the start of tour you are asked to pose as news anchors but that picture costs me 41$. They ll give 4 pics of different sizes. It s a choice you have to make whether to go this tour. Overall it was ok experience for us.

Took VIP tour. Our guide was great, he took time to explain and answer every questions. A bit expensive, difference with the normal tour is you can get into some of the shows while they re live and it s a smaller group.

The CNN Studio Tour is very interesting! They bring you through many parts of the building, showcasing sets, equipment, and technology they use. If you ever get a chance to go to the CNN building, this 50 minute tour shows you the behind-the-scenes look.

This is fun! FUN FUN FUN! I enjoyed the tour, watching the different areas of broadcasting the news, and it was very informational. The free standing escalator might have been the highlight of the evening for me lol I would definitely come back again.

Such a cool experience! Right in the heart of Atlanta so you can easily grab a bite to eat beforehand and then hop on over to the Civil Rights Museum or the World of Coke museum. We had a blast - our tour guide was awesome and we felt we definitely got our money's worth! This is also a great way to beat the heat during the summer!

I the CNN center food court offers a large veriety of options atblow costs my favorit being the chinese place in the lower cornerm however i gave it 3 stars simply because i don't agree with the anti-constitutional veiws profagandised while you eat in the food court. One story that had beennplaying was a politian that was calling for a ban on firing a weapon on private property. That called another politian racist because he called it unconstitutional under the second amement becacuse it would litteraly make self defense illigal if you can't fire your weapon in yoir home.

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, but he went through the tour so fast. Probably because there was not much going on.
I saw a lot more during a previous visit.
I was very disappointed, especially because I went with guests.

It's cool to see what's going on behind the scenes at Cable News Network, but I've had better tours. Seeing some nostalgic memorabilia would make it cooler like the experience at the Coca-Cola museum nearby.

Honestly you won't see much in this tour that you can't see going to your local news station. They basically just walk you around the building pointing to closed rooms and telling you what goes on in the room. You don't really get to see anything behind the scenes. Trust me when I tell you that your money is better spent seeing something else in Atlanta.

It was a rather informative tour and very enjoyable. However, you couldn't take pictures at all the places you stopped by, which given they were behind the scenes was understandable, but somewhat disappointing.

Fascinating opportunity to see behind the scenes of a working television production and broadcast centre. I took the VIP tour, the pinnacle of which was the opportunity to tour a live broadcast studio, standing just metres away from the news anchor behind the cameras. It was surreal to observe the one-sidedness of the broadcast the external correspondents not being visible in the pre-mix monitor available in the studio, and the actions of the news anchor when the cameras are not rolling. Other highlights include riding the world's longest escalator (I think) at the start of the tour. Value for money and highly recommended.

Very cool experience! Seeing the behind the scenes of the news we watch everyday was pretty amazing. To think that all of the chaos from breaking news, the fact checking, the editing, all goes on in these rooms is remarkable! Loved learning about the equipment and the news process as well

What you are paying for here is essentially a tour...

What you are paying for here is essentially a tour of a working office. There are people at desks, at computers.... just like every other office in the country. There is nothing really to see, except a giant escalator at the start of the tour.

There are tantalizing bits of memorabilia about CNN's work in hostile environments, or stories they've broken, but these are never explored further. There are green screens and teleprompters to play with, but bizarrely only the tour guide ever gets to use them.

In this divisive era, CNN are missing a massive opportunity to tell the story of news-gathering, to explain how sources are found and how a story is built and broken to their viewers.
