Can't say enough good things about this place. Food is great, limited choices but it is a awesome place to bring a date or just hang out at the bar with friends and company. Very chill place. If your looking for a good time with friends or nice romantic dinner with spouse. Come here

Pro:

Pro:
Food was good
Location
Drink was okay and not overpriced

Con:
Service. Took too long to get order taken, receive food, and checkup on status. Which was odd given I sat at the bar on a Sunday night. It was bot very busy. So if you go definitely grab a table over hanging out at the bar.

This place really has a great location and nice atmosphere. The outdoor seating is large and right next to water. The menu has a great variety of food, pretty much can satisfy your craving. Prices are a little high but the quality is very good. Salads were fresh and so good, esp the steak salad. The wings were small but tasty. The BLT was excellent and the chicken sandwich was also very good. The inside of the restaurant reminds me of the old dc steakhouses, which is fun and also dark. The waiter was friendly. I wished they would have timed the space between the appetizers and food, they came on top of each other which is not how it should be. The outdoor seating was nice cause folks could bring dogs and there was live music. It's a nice place to go and enjoy outside, good music and good food. I was rather impressed. I hadn't been in a while and it's not close to where I live , but worth it . Mixed drinks were good and deserts tasty..they offer items from sweet to savory.

Good thing they are closing down - terrible customer service. Waited over an hour for outside seating only to be next in line to be told no more outside seating due to a possible storm. They would not accommodate me for inside seating unless I waited another hour. Oh heck no - the food is okay but 2 hours?? Offered me to place a to-go order - if I wanted to eat at home I would not have driven 30 minutes, wait over an hour just go home. It was about a night out!!

The ambience. Elegant design and obvious fine dining charm within a reasonable price range. Bar and restaurant seating. Excellent views from all angles. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Food was good, served hot and drinks at the bar were very good.

The only great thing about Clyde's is the view of Lake Kittamaqundi. The service isn't great and the food is really bland. I've been for brunch and for dinner and neither time was anything exceptional. Skip this one and go somewhere else.

I hadn't been to Clyde's in some time. We stopped in for lunch yesterday. Everything was great! The best thing we had was the cheese plate appetizer. You just have to trust me. Delicious and interesting surprises at every turn. A little pricey at $14+ but totally worth it!

Made a reservation, arrived on time and were immediately sat down at our table where we waited for 15 minutes and no one even said hello to us. Went elsewhere where the waitstaff did not ignore and/or scowl at us when they walked by.

Our service was outstanding. The food was good, but overpriced. The charcuterie & cheese boards were disappointing. We would highly recommend the NY Strip, but not the swordfish - it was a little mushy, but the accompaniments were great. The wine options are a steal (for being served in a restaurant) if you are going for a full bottle. Dessert was fantastic! You can't go wrong with the bread pudding or the chocolate mousse.

Clyde's cream of crab soup has always been a great reason to come here. I've only been to two other restaurants that have cream of crab soup in the same league. The service was good, but the waiter did long of forget about our check and we had to flag him down. I had the shrimp and grits which I probably should not have paired with the cream of crab soup. Two rich creamy dishes back to back is a bit much. There flavors were amazing, but I wish the grits we're a bit more traditional, and more of them. My wife had the pork chop which was huge, tasty and amazingly cooked to perfection. The dessert menu was a bit of a let down. There were free options, and they were very generic. Even though I'm giving it a 4 star rating, the ambiance is almost enough to bump it back up to a 5. Are there better choices? Yes, but it's still hard to go wrong with Clyde's

Nice atmosphere. Nice location. Average to above average food. I've been here many times and have always enjoyed the food, but I just had the first meal I didn't completely enjoy. Specifically, their fish and chips are very underwhelming. Don't let this review dissuade you from going though, there are plenty of other choices on the menu.

Lame! Cold fries, mediocre burger and 12 ounce beers for $7.50. Seriously, give me a break. There is a reason why they are empty. Should have went to Longstar or Outback which are always reliable and for $7.50 you get a giant beer. Clyde's is living of their past and hasn't realize they are a dinosaur. I predict the Columbia location will go under. Don't waste your time. I hadn't been there in a couple of years and remember why.

Service was slow, but it was a Friday evening so understandable. I was a bit upset that they didn't have the same happy hour specials, nor the same menu as they had advertised on their website.

The food was still very good, and at least the beers were (almost) the correct happy hour special. What surprised me most about this place was the view.bni didn't realize that there was a lakeside view from this place, with a lovely pavilion and dock to stroll along with your loved ones!

They've been serving reliably good food here for many years. The service is usually very good and personable. I've never been dissatisfied with anything here - generally anything I've ordered over the years has been very good. Just except the last time I was there I did not care for the falafel, but I'm not an expert on falafel, and I probably should just wait to order that at a middle eastern restaurant anyway, so I dont really count that against them. The only other small issue I notice lately is that the back hallway leading to the bathrooms is in need of a refresh or new tiles, or just a really good steam cleaning and scrub, as it just looks a little dirty and dated...but it's not gross or anything. I've been coming here for years and I would give it a 4.5 if I could, bc I think it's better than a 4 - hence i gave it 5 stars bc I cant do 4.5. That said it's really not quite 5 stars. And it's not in the same league as some of the othe Clyde's restaurants such as Old Ebbit and The Preserve. Nonetheless i find it very good for a quick bite - just not really a special occasion place like some of their other restaurants.

Great! I heard that it was a nice eating establishment., but never went. I loved the way the wait staff informed you of the "chef's" recommendation of how the food should be cooked and then they ask how would you like it. They do the same thing with drinks that have different varieties (i.e., tequila). All I had was the crab soup which was the best that I have ever had in the state of Maryland, there was literally crab crab meat in every bite. It filled me up. I have got to return soon.

We visited on two occasions for dinner very recently and have tried four different entrees. The Paella was made with orzo pasta instead of rice and the ingredients were floating in oil. One of the main meat ingredients for this dish, mentioned on the menu, was missing. The recipe should be revisited. The food overall was barely average in taste and preparation. Our past experiences, at the various Clyde's in the metro area, have been excellent.

Service was a little slow and the server forgot an extra cup of ice that we asked for. We waited so long I had to go to the bar to ask a bartender for ice for my companion's wine. However, the Happy Hour menu is unbeatable!!!!

The wait was unbearable, we waited 2 cycles of reservation that took 1.5 Hours to be seated when we were told it would take 45 min. Drinks and food are ok, but the ambiance and view is nice.

Great location; near Wholefoods. Near the restaurant, there's a garage, a lake, a great water fountain and patio sitting. Staff is friendly, professional and the food is great. I love the atmosphere too.

This restaurant has a ridiculous amount of hype for what the experience was. We went there for our anniversary but definitely weren't treated that way. The waiter puts a pitcher of water on the table at the beginning of the meal and no other drinks got refilled. Crab and Artichoke dip had little to no crab in it, no lump meat in sight. Brick chicken was too salty and lamb was overcooked and not seasoned. The best part of both dishes (roasted tomatoes and gnocchi) were barely on the plate at all, 2 of each. Asparagus was badly burned and inedible. The plating on each dish was pretty but the flavors were off or just not there.

I was really disappointed. They were out of a bunch of sides and some appetizer food. The drinks were pretty overpriced. The food was bland. The service was pretty good and there was no wait, though. The view of the lake is pretty nice.

I hadn't been here in awhile so I thought it would be a great date night. I got Babyback ribs, potato salad, Cole slaw and cornbread. Ribs were ok not enough sauce and very little meat, potatoes in salad were hard, Cole slaw was ok and cornbread was dry and hard. My friend ordered the salmon.....it was ok. Waiter, TJ was not attentive at all. Never returned to ask if we needed anything except to collect dishes and give check. That was the extent of his customer service!!!!!
Of course we were eating outside so I gave a 3 for the view and the Sangria which was tasty

This location was my introduction to Clyde's many many years ago, and I have been a regular patron of this (and their other locations in Ashburn and Rockville) ever since.

The food is delicious, the wait staff are fantastic, and the vintage art at this location was a highlight for me.

My godson's last birthday was held here, and this was the last Clyde's location I took my mother to before she passed away.

I had an opportunity to visit them one last time before this location closes for good, and even in the midst of the pandemic of 2020, they were attentive, diligent about safety, and the food was delicious as always.

Thank you for years of good memories and unfailing wonderful service.

We booked this place to have a nice New Years meal. We arrived and were seated soon after (we had reservations). The service was slow but the waitress was polite. While the pear and Brussels sprout salads were good, the Caesar salad and cream of crab soup were not great. The dessert was also average; the apple pie had raw apples but the sundae was delicious. Overall, an extremely average meal, a little on the expensive side. 3/5.

The food is delicious; but what really sets Clyde's apart is the location. There is a beautiful lake behind the restaurant, along with nearby shops that make this a great place for date night.

Pretty dependable quality and service, but getting in can be a bit of a challenge as this is an anchor venue at the Columbia waterfront. Count on a wait even with a reservation. Great for casual dining and people watching!
