The MD crab soup is the best I have ever had and I am a Marylander.
We had a large party. Late dinner, only server to wait on all of us. Took a long time to get everything set and ordered.
Food was good. Would have been better if it wasn't such a long wait
Clyde's in a very nice restaurant located in the heart of Reston, Va. This is a great place to visit for singles or families.
Dinner at Clyde s is always a treat! The service was great and the Squash Ravioli was fine!
Slow Service it took over 1 hour to get my order. Then another 30mins to pay and leave. Chicken was overcooked and not worth the price.
They currently have a BBQ Jar appetizer that is to die for! It is Mac and Cheese on the bottom, then NC BBQ pulled pork, then topped with tangy Cole slaw and at the very top French fried mini onion rings!
The place offers a large range of delicious food. I liked dining here. Employees are always super nice, prices are convenient and the spot is always well organised.
It's Clyde's! You really can't go wrong at Clyde's, the food is always great. During Covid-19, we could only sit outdoors, but Clyde's in Reston has a lovely outdoor area next to the ice rink/community area, in the shade and tables are far apart. Had nice drinks and lobster, always good. In my experience, all of the Clyde's restaurants are always good.
Clyde's has an excellent menu and excellent food but the waitress that I got yesterday was the worst ever. It is the first time that I haven't tipped in my life. First she attended a table that was taken 25 minutes after we were given the menu. Then after getting the my order wrong , she decided to close the night for me by telling me that maybe it was because of the language barrier that everything was messed up . I am a court interpreter and have been a linguist for big firms for the past 30 years. To put the Icing on the cake I asked her to add some Vanilla Ice cream to the New York Cheesecake and she told me that they did not serve Banana Ice cream there...in other words I don't know how to read a menu, and I don't know what to ask for...very uncouth she literally tried to treat me like "Paco from the corner's Taco Stand" In my 32 years of Military and Government service have I ever been in a situation like this one, I spoke to the the young lady assigning out tables and she apologized and told me that next time they will give me a better waitress (there is not going to be a next time). What Clyde's restaurant needs to do is to better train this narrow minded people how to ask questions when they don't understand if they really don't and second they should repeat the order so that they are sure of what is that the client asked for.... that is the reason that I did not leave any tips.
Pleasant staff, great location and the food was amazing.
Fine restaurant, super unhappy that they removed the bison burger! It was the best thing here.
Always excellent! Old school and perfect per usual!!!
Have visited this restaurant countless times. I have always been happy with the food and quality of service.
Meets and exceeds every expectation that this restaurant company has set for itself and the rest of the industry
Never offensive but never spectacular. The cocktails are fairly weak but the bartenders are good. If you are looking for something distinct, this is not the place.
Bartender had great service, although walked out after waiting an hour of not being seated after checking in for a reservation. Bar is great, restaurant is disappointing.
I love steak. Love it. My wife took me here for a welcome home from deployment/birthday dinner. We had never been. Not only did they go out of their way to welcome me home and wish me a happy birthday, but they also created a custom menu for us.The lobster bisque was outstanding, but that's not why I came. I ordered the biggest fillet they had and boy, I wasn't dissapointed. It was THE BEST steak I have ever had. It was so tender, perfectly cooked and you could tell it was high quality meat. It may be a little expensive, but totally worth it!
Clyde's used to be where to eat. Not anymore. The appetizers were cold, the steak was OK but not really worth the money. It has lost a step. Sadly it is one of the only patio restaurants that allow pets any more. And then there is the Reston parking tax. Go somewhere else.
Food is like Chili's or Applebee's only more expensive.
Good food and ambience. The wait to be seated was a bit excessive with the number of empty tables .
Went to this Clyde's location for company holiday party. They were very busy (Saturday night) and got several orders wrong. Long, long wait for drinks and food. Food was quite good.
Several delicious vegan options make this a good place to go with a group. Hummus plate, some salads without cheese, and an amazing bowl with grains and grilled veggies.
Love this place been coming more than 20 years. My husband and I celebrate all our big events here like our first date, wedding anniversary and many other fun festivities. Clyde's always has great food.
Been coming here for a while, the food is good but the service keeps going down hill... Slow, forgetting drinks, tables dirty...
Clyde's is always good. We usually do Sunday brunch and I always look forward to the scrumptious coffee cake prior to the meal. In a few months, folks will be ice skating on the rink adjacent to Clyde's. That's always nice.
Clyde's has offered reliably good food for years. Comfy indoor tables and booths. Outdoor seating available. Free WiFi.
Drinks and appetizers this evening. Clam chowder and potato bites. Very nice atmosphere.
I've gone to Clydes for years and I have never had bad service here. The wait staff and hosts are always friendly. The food is great but over the years, maybe with all the competition, it's not as great as it used to be. It's still very good and to my liking, so I'll continue to go.
Attended their brunch the other weekend with a party of 15. Unfortunately the server dropped a plate of food on one of our guests. They worked hard to clean the food, but clearly stains remained on his shirt and tie. At no point was an apology made. At no point, did a manager come over to apologize or check in on the situation. And in the end, only an offer was made to pay for the meal. The $15 brunch meal may have been comparable to the dry cleaning bill, but it didn't come close to the price of the ruined tie. And it was extremely rude of Clyde's not to even offer an apology. Avoid, unless you enjoy being treated rudely, while wearing your meal.
The atmosphere is dated and always dimly lit. The staff is nice and upbeat. Food quality has been inconsistent during lunch and dinner. You're usually able to get a table with little or no wait. When full the noise levels are high and unenjoyable.
Pickles were great but the drinks were all watered down. Had a old fashioned that was all melted ice water with a hint of whiskey and a manhattan that was "meh", such a shame.
The salmon a small ribs have a lot of flavor fries are tasty over all very good food salmon is very tasty and whatever that Brown rice I think is what it taste like is very good with the Spanish
Service was bad - food came out wrong - expensive for what we received. One of the first places I went to when I moved to the area, I ll never go back.
My fiance and I went for an early Valentine's dinner, they had done a good job decorating for the holiday a day early. Service was great right off the bat as we were seated by a manager, Dimitri, who let us know about how Clyde's has been doing farm to table for years. Our server was Chris (nice wine presentation!) along with a trainee who worked well together. I had the catfish, my fiance the firebird sandwich which we both enjoyed. We left full and happy, thank you to the Clyde's of Reston team for making our night special!
Great customer service.
The milkshakes are delicious!
The food was delicious and the atmosphere was fantastic. The waiters and waitresses were very nice. I ordered filet mignon and it was the best I've ever tasted. I'm extremely happy that they were able to seat all of us for dinner the night before my son got married. I will never forget that evening. It was so special. Thanks to Clydes.
Clydes is great - a bit pricey and this particular one is located in Reston Town Center, which used to be great....but I digress. If you like Clydes, make the trip to Broadlands, it is a much better atmosphere and restaurant.
Note: This rating pertains to service only.
Otherwise the food was great.
Was at this location yesterday, Sunday, March 10 for brunch.
We had a 12:45 reservation. My friend got there ahead of me. When I was taken to the table, the waitress showed up moments after I sat down to bring my friend her drink that she had ordered prior to my arrival. Waitress dropped off drink and didn't bother to acknowledge me or ask if I wanted anything to drink. After several minutes, I flag her down to ask for an Ice Tea. Almost 15 minutes elapsed and she never brought my tea yet walked past my table to take 2 cups of coffee to the table behind us. I again ask her for my tea. A few minutes later she brings it and doesn't ask if I want a straw so I asked for a straw but she never brought one yet brought straws to a table nearby.
I ordered a brunch item that did not include toast so I asked for a side order of toast. This same waitress drops off a plate of toast (which was only 1 slice and it was $2.75). Again, the waitress scoots off so fast after dropping off the toast so had to flag her down for jelly which took her several minutes to bring. Everything was an effort just to get basic service and courtesy from this waitress. By the time she came around to ask if I wanted a refill of Ice Tea I was already done with my meal.
I've gone to this location since the 90's and have always had a good meal and good service but this waitress had major tude and made me feel I was imposing just to get what I ordered. Very rude waitress.
Again, food was great but the service was lousy yesterday.
The only good thing we have to say about this restaurant is the decor. It has a mix of aviation and nautical themes which is appealing. When we first walked into the restaurant, the hostess asked us to wait a couple minutes while they found a table for the both of us. Wait. What!? Everywhere I looked there were free tables, although I could see that some weren't cleaned up yet. When we asked for a booth, that seemed to confuse them even more. But they found one really quickly. I don't understand the source of their confusion, but we were finally seated. The waitress confused one of our drink orders. The food (a kale salad and burger) were mediocre at best, but had been served quickly. Bottom line, if this is how they handle business on an early Sunday afternoon, I dread the thought of coming here any other day. We'll never come here again.
Nice place with lots of good options. It's also one of the few restaurants in Reston Town Center that stays open late. If visiting on a weekend during dinner hours, better have a reservation if you don't want to wait, like forever. If you didn't plan to attend and notice a wait when you walk up, trust me, open the "Open Table" app on your phone and grab the soonest reservation. There may be a slight wait, but you'll fare better than a walk-in.
The appetizers where not very good but the milkshakes are amazing!
Horrible experience. Food was good. And pretty flexible with reservations. However, our waiter completely ruined the experience for us. Very rude. Never I initially introduced himself. Checked on us maybe twice. Had to constantly ask for more water and didn t even bring bread to us. Had to ask for bread just overall rude and standoffish. To top it off he dropped a plate on me and didn t apologize. We like Clyde s but we will not return to this location because of the horrible experience with the waiter.
Very good American fare. Your meatloaf was excellent. We also experience the salmon platter. That was served medium, tender and Flaky. one of our party had a veggie burger and the other had a real burger and they were both great.
The food is amazing. Good prices. Service is excellent. The roasted chicken is to die for. Well-made manhattans.
Great food eat in or take out. Wonderful service lots of atmosphere my favorite place in Reston for a nice meal.
Wanted to surprise my wife with a lobster dinner for two from Clyde's of Reston and have it delivered on our anniversary. Completed the order 5 days prior to our anniversary. On the day of our anniversary, 3 hours before the scheduled delivery, my order was cancelled because they ran out! I had to scramble to find a replacement. I complained to Clyde's Reston a week ago but no response. I'll be looking for another restaurant to celebrate family events. So very disappointing!
Poor service and unattentive staff. The food was tasteless. I dont think I will be going back anytime soon
Good atmosphere, good dishes, the attention of the spectacular bartenders!
Location and service is great. However, the food can be hit or miss, and prices definitely leave a bit to be desired. Wings were very dry and generic.
We're done with Clyde's.
My family has enjoyed brunches outdoors at Clyde's in Reston for several years, but no more. What used to be good food and good service is now neither.
Today, for example. Waited far too long to order, far too long for food. One order of a burger with pepper jack, no tomato, came out with swiss and tomato. Ordered it medium, served well done. An order for a plain waffle came out with bacon and maple butter all over it.
The slow service and mixed up orders happen pretty much every time. Even the kids asked to not come back.
Always a chill place to hang out. Been there a bunch of times. Always great service
Brass, dark wood, estate fireplaces....and fantastic food - a great melding of comfort food and sophisticated cuisine. The themed dining areas (aeroplanes, sailing, and equestrian) are great!
Good selection of food and drinks.
Pretty lit during the evening happy hour .
Clyde's restaurant is worth visiting. The staff is professional, courteous, and helpful. The outside dining area is well shaded, comfortable, and allows views of ongoing activity of the general area. Each appetizer and meal were prepared to perfection with seasonings that awakened your taste buds with each bite. Thank you for an exquisite dining experience.
I have been coming to the bar at Clydes of Reston with friends for 6 years and we will not be returning! That new female manager is awful and rude to the employees but most importantly the guests. As a corporation that is so well- known and loved as Clydes I would expect that they choose more wisely about whom they chose to help run their business.
Good service, very friendly, although they forgot to serve my salad with the other appetizers. Wide whiskey selection. Amazing burgers, both regular and the beyond burger with pesto were really good. And to top it off the brownie sundae...super warm and melty with plenty of fudge...just the way it should be.
Used to be way better. Overpriced. Fat laden poor quality meat. Service was slow. Will not go back again.
Cool atmosphere, great location. Needs an update. The staff is awesome.
Constantly busy but the service is attentive and patient with large groups. Food is pretty good overall. If you're unsure what to order, I recommend the shrimp scampi.
An excellent place to eat in the heart of the Reston Town Center. The food here is always good.
