An area institution that may have passed its prime. While you can't beat the location and the atmosphere remains upscale-cosy, this restaurant seems to be resting on its laurels and has begun taking short cuts. Small details like the quality of ingredients can significantly impact the entire meal. When canned vegetables are snuck into an omelette, or watery dressing is tossed into a salad, the overall effect is one of an icon who is aging with less than perfect grace.

My husband and friends had no reservation but we were seated immediately by friendly staff on a busy evening. I ate a gorgeous mussel appetizer. That was followed by a seafood course which was to die for. The manager, Fraser Hay, stopped by to assist the busy staff and was terrific. The best manager in any restaurant that we've frequented, hands down. So friendly and made my husband, and friends feel very special. Fraser Hay and the staff brought out dessert and lit a candle for my birthday and sang Happy Birthday to me. I loved that too. I've visited Clydes on many occasions and the staff are very knowledgeable and quick to help. The food is always changing for the seasons. The food is top notch! Thank you again. We will all be back.

Very good restaurant. Kitchen in the upper US segment. Cozy divided into small niches, so that there is a lot of privacy. Service has unfortunately in the course of the evening, with increasing number of guests diminished. Dessert with strawberries is high in calories but also really sweet

The food here is great. I got the center cut pork chop and it was cooked prefect. It came with a bearnaise sauce that was remarkable and had a side of truffle mac and cheese. If you want a decadent meal, please go here. The service was ok, they were mostly attentive, but could have been better. There is a wide variety of beer to choose from, which is always welcomed. Overall, come here for some great food.

Long wait for brunch to be delivered. Coffee cake was delivered with lunch instead of before. Coffee ordered when lunch arrived took almost 25 minutes to be brought to the table. Manager said they were short handed. How does a restaurant this big end up short handed? Someone needs to plan better.

I was expecting more for the price. Burger was over cooked. Kids Mac and cheese wasn't cheesy. And the pulled pork wasn't pulled, a taco shouldn't have two large chunks of meat in it. It should be pulled apart.

My mother's favorite restaurant, if she could eat here everyday she would. The steak fritz and onion soup are always a hit. Charming and upscale and personable staff. We always do brunch monthly . Two thumps up for them.

Only down side is that parking is hard to find and a hassle to arrive on time for reservations.

We had the lobster shepherd pie and the frutti di mare. THe frutti de mare was good but the lobster shepherd pie was normal; won't recommend the lobster shepherd pie. But the frutti di mare was really good and highly recommendable.

They forgot to bring out our condiments for our food, asked the waitress but never brought them until I asked for the check and food cold and halfway finished. Disappointed due to the fact it was almost empty and still couldn't get proper attentiveness from the server. Food was underwhelming

Always a trusted choice. Recently, however, I was woefully disappointed by what should have been an excellent burger. I asked for medium rare, but it was a step beyond well-done. In addition, the bacon was waaay overcooked.

We specifically made a reservation for outside. They refused to seat us outside with the outside hostess and indoor hostess basically playing ping pong with us. Proceeded to sit down to a meal inside with the worst service. Management needs to hire more servers, chefs, busboys, etc. Food took almost 1.5 hours to get to us, wrong drinks, wrong food, waitress didn t check in at all. They basically lost money since we couldn t order any extra drinks or dessert for our party. Not coming back for a very long time. They need a lot of work.

Went here for Father's Day. Service terrible. Food terrible. The waitress got my drink order wrong, the breakfast sausage order wrong, the cream didn't come out with the French toast, no refill on drinks, the service was so slow. It was so slow that another waitress came over to clear our plates, get boxes for us and ask for the check. If you're going to charge $6 for sausage at least get it right. To the waitress, worry less about your appearance and more about doing your job! I have to also add we ordered Dominos for dinner and had it delivered. The pizza arrived hotter than the food did to the table. Can you say room temperature?

The food was average at best, did not like the atmosphere at all. It took the server three tries to get one of the orders right. Also, as a vegetarian, I would expect the veggie burger to be just that - however, they have anchovie mayonnaise on the burger. Service was extremely slow. I would not recommend this restaurant. There is an Italian restaurant across from it (Paolo's) that has a much better quality of food and service.

The Owner(s) really need to evaluate this resturant. I moved to the area in April of 2014 and have been to Clyde's several times and probably for the last time. The bar service is terrible and its strange since the managers seem very knowledgable in regards to the industry. In addition it seems the trash that frequents Clyde's in the RTC drives customers to other places to eat. I've had so many better experiences in Reston. The quality of the food is good but the service needs to be addressed.

Oh no not this place again. I thought I would give another try. I ate at this place yesterday. I had a hamburger, Wife had chicken sandwich, kid had mac and cheese. All got sick on the way home. And the time before was: Thanksgiving day 2015 and that was the worst I had ever had. Never again. Avoid this place food has never been any good. This place needs to hire good chiefs, the ones they have now do not know how to cook nor do they know how to pick a good meat. Please don't forget your stomach pump...

We like Clyde's. Comfortabke upscale relaxed atmosphere. Hamburgers are around $12, cooked to order and delicious. Great fries, but other sides available. I had the trout with lemon sauce. It was well fried - crispy, but not hard. Would have preferred not butterflied. The side vegetables, roasted potatoes and whole green beans, were perfect. Crispy pieces of potato with soft centers; beans were crisp tender. Not raw, not mushy. No dessert this time. Too full. We need to eat there more often

I took my mother to Clyde's for her birthday brunch. We arrived and were seated along with other groups. The host provided us with water and left. We waited more than 30 minutes for a waiter to come to our table. We even asked another waiter if he could assist in attending our table. He apologized and said he would get someone. We waited another 10 minutes and left. On our way out we shared our discontentment with the hostess who was completely apathetic. I don't want to say it was an issue of our race but the people who were seated with us were served they were (Caucasian) and we were not. I do hope the restaurant will do some sensibility training moving forward. I know I will not be returning to Clyde's again. It is obvious they don't want my business anyway.

You will never go wrong whether it's a quick lunch hour salad and soup, or a dinner date at Clyde's of Reston. Every Clyde's I've been to in the DC area has great professional staff who are very familiar with their food menu and cocktails. The atmosphere at the Reston location is special during winter months b/c of their fireplaces and views to the outdoor ice skating arena. I really like their roasted half chicken and vegetable sides. A classic favorite at Clyde's is their rustic chili. It is so good with warm bread and butter. Bon Appetit!

Just enjoyed a very good dinner with my daughter and son in law. The service was excellent. My daughter appreciated the gluten free choices. The food was good. My son in law said the bourbon butter pecan adult milkshake was very good. The atmosphere of the restaurant was relaxing.

Excellent food and comfortable yet elegant ambiance. They are able to accommodate large parties and you can enjoy a great dinner at a relaxed pace since no one rushes you. Steaks, chops, and seafood were all very good.
