I was here for a private party of 30 and we had an option of steak, salmon, or paella. I have been to events like this where the experience and food was poor (think wedding!)... This was a pleasant surprise! All dishes were wonderful and everybody at the table raved about the quality. The crab chowder was just okay... I'd stick with a salad and a steak. Also check out their signature $125 martini :-) I didn't order it but it was a topic of conversation at our table.

This place is awesome. And none more awesome than Franko who always takes excellent care of us, whether eating and drinking at the bar or sitting down for dinner. P.S. I loveeee that this is a sexy chic spot that people don't know about. And I love the personal experience we always get from Franko and the crew. So please, come enjoy this place, but keep it on the hush. Let it remain our favorite spot that flies under the radar ;)

The crab cake was to die for. There wasn't a lot of breading used for a filler in the crab cake. They use corn, peppers and other things which was different and great. The potatoes that came along side the crab cake were incredibly salty. So that is why I didn't give the restaurant 5 stars. That and the prices.

My wife and another couple made our monthly adventures to a different restaurant and Claudia's was this weeks spot. I ordered drunken ribeye, which was okay while my wife had the teraki steak which was good. Our friends ordered the crab cake which was good but she was expecting it to be larger or two of them while her husband ordered the flounder which was somewhat bland, no real flavor. The service was okay but bartender on 2 different occasions messed up ( drink order and brusslesprouts came with bacon which wevdudntbask for). For dessert I ordered white chocolate cheesecake for all of us to share which was at best a C-. Everyone had one small piece was not satisfied. There was no white chocolate taste and not much cheesecake taste. Not a bad place (did I mention there was no valet parking) but I experienced Claudia's for the 1st and last time, many local restaurants that are better.

Service was so slow and so bad that we actually left and walked down to Joe s. This was after we had to send cocktails back to the bar that were terrible and then the bartender LITERALLY said I ve never heard of a French 75 (one of the most famous cocktails in history). Service was so slow and so poor that we just gave up and walked somewhere else.

Just tried to walk into this place to eat and they turned me away because I had on sneakers. Now I understand if it is made clear there is a dress code before you walk in the door (there wasn't). But according to the manager he couldn't serve me with sneakers because they need black tie "today". As a business owner and a realtor I deal with the customers all the time. There are certain ways you handle things and they did a horrible job. I haven't had there food and because of this interaction probably me nor my freinds never will. Thanks Morton's Steakhouse for serving the guy with sneakers on.

Great ambiance, music, and food. The staff was courteous, attentive, but have us space. My only gripes were how long it took for the server to get our check paid, and the staff seeming unwilling to give us additional carry out boxes. We celebrated a birthday and wanted to take home the desert. However about the pace, in his defense, we were a large group that was asking him to take payments on different cards. Otherwise I'd say this place is great for an intimate night or a large gathering!

Nice atmosphere, great drink options! Food was ok I asked for my salmon cooked longer ( I don t like slimy seafood) I was told I could not get it cooked longer it s cooked to temperature. I attended a private dinner party! At the end of the night there were a few issues with the check; however it was handled. The server immediately turned sour, disconnected and nonchalant! I understand things happen, however the situation was fixed but her attitude did not.

Claudia's is a nice, new addition to the DC restaurant scene, just a year old. The portions were a good size, but the price did rack up fairly quickly, lol. Staff was fantastic and we enjoyed the complementary plantain crisps and amuse-bouche of the chef's soup selection was nice way to set expectations.

Pros: side dishes were large and plentiful for sharing, we got the honey-fried Brussel sprouts (good, but not fabulous) and French fries (seasoned and done the way I like); the rack of lamb was a set of two thick portions (6 ribs) and was well prepared (I was happy that med-rare was pretty rare); the drunken steak was alright, but my friend ordered it med-well, so it was too done for me; the petite filet mignon was nice, but I've tasted better; booth was nice and comfortably fix 5 adults and made it easy to face each other and share plates. Cons: there is live flamenco music and dancers, which was entertaining, but MUCH too LOUD for conversation with a group.

Over all, I would say it may be pricy, but fine for a date night where you can sit close to the person you want to talk with or just not talk at all. LoL I probably won't go back for dinner, but I would stop in for their happy hour at the bar and try that - looked like it was most of their Small Plates priced ~$3 cheaper and tempting cocktails in the $5 to $7 range.

Claudia's steakhouse has a cool happy hour with a variety of food choice although limited in beer choices. Make sure you are ready for the kick that come with the wings. The drunken ribeye is one of their signature dishes and it didn't disappoint. This steakhouse is true to its specialty in that all the steaks at the table were greatly enjoyed. However, the Lamb has room for improvement. I am looking forward to going back with a group of friends for a special event on a Saturday night to enjoy dinner, music and dancing.
Review update: I went back for a special event in the private room and it was amazing. Food was delicious and the party all night was night was fun with great drinks.

Not one of our better dinners out. Slow service and VERY LOUD. Drunken ribeye at Sweetwater Tavern much better.

Did I mention that it was slow? 15 minutes to get silverware. Needs a bigger beer selection too. Wait staff being friendly is how they got 2 stars. If they could hear us I might have been more generous. They got our orders wrong because they couldn't hear us.

We enjoyed our 1st anniversary celebration by dining at Claudia's last night. I wanted a delicious steak and my wife wanted a good salmon or lamb dish. We were SO pleased with the service we received from Justin and the food was delicious. From the door, we were greeted pleasantly and accommodated with a swanky booth aat our request. We ordered the steak and lamb, which were both really tender and seasoned perfectly! The honey bacon brussel sprouts.... WOW! The mac and cheese was different than we make at home but so cheesy and yummy. Even the plantains that are served with poblano aioli, which you get while you wait for your food were a perfect and light start. Our drinks were strong and tasty. I had the spicy pineapple margarita which was really inventive and good. We will definitely be returning!
