Andre recommended I purchase the Autobarn package which covered a lot of items under warranty, I pushed back on that for a bit but ended up going with it. And I am glad I did. 3 weeks later, I hit a metal bolt in the freeway and destroyed a wheel and tire but thanks to Andre it is covered!

Great great great place to go in for a car buying experience. Went in to the dealership with an idea on the car and price, but had some questions. As soon as we went in, we were happily received by the super friendly Ricardo Layas in the showroom area. He was very informative and technical in regards to the automobiles and the services provided through Volkswagen. He was never pushy or quick to blow us off. In fact, he was very helpful and informative in regards to the engineering, safety, financing, and pricing expectations. We test drove, our now new 2016 Passat, and as we went on the road, he made sure that the driving experience was completely satisfying to make an accurate decision on the commitment for the car to be purchased. Once having a complete satisfaction on the car, it was time for crunching the numbers. We sat and he completely satisfied the great internet offers brought on our phone. Finally also super happy with the help of Kissy Freeman, the Finance Manager, who provided with the best offer possible. As stressful and deceiving a car buying experience can be, this is so far an amazing and pleasant one. Very Very happy with the sales and finance staff.

I m amending my original review as my experience with the CERTIFIED Golf I purchased in October has been horrendous. I m not changing my review of my salesman as he was a pleasure to deal with. See my notes below on that. However, the certified 2015 Golf with 22k on it gave me a whole mess of problems for the first month including a bad thermostat that has been replaced twice since I took ownership. Also, normal stuff supposedly inspected through VW s certified inspection clearly were not as small detail stuff also needed to be replaced (iPod hookup, 12v power supply among a few others). Back to the thermostat, the car didn t produce heat in the cabin after I took delivery so I visited service only for them to tell me that the heat worked. This occurred not once, but twice. Finally, service realized the thermostat was bad and replaced it. I thought/hoped the troubles were over as I d spent way too much time within a two weeks time at a dealership I purchased a CERTIFIED car from. Well...my troubles weren t over as I realized two days later I was leaking coolant. What happened next? I needed to get it towed to the dealership so they could replace the thermostat again! All of this is manageable as I understand cars are machines and sometimes things don t work as you d like them to. However, the dealership has acted like I m a pain in their ass. I was offered two oil change service packages as consolation for the headaches associated with the car. I ve been waiting to receive the coupons for over a month now. I ve been told they ve been dropped in the mail, but they never arrive. And...when I inquire about the missing coupons I m told to just keep waiting. Does it really take USPS over a month to deliver an envelope within the same neighborhood? As of Dec 13 I m still trying to resolve this issue. I purchased the car on Oct 21. Oh...I almost forgot to mention I purchased a service package with the car and was told when I signed the paperwork that it included the 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70k services. I paid a pretty penny for this too as I was charged $1,250. Keep in mind the only major service that occurs on this car is at 70k. Therefore, I was paying $1,250 for oil changes and air filters through 60k. If I didn t take a closer look at the paperwork once I got home I would ve paid $1,250 for only the 60 and 70k service! The dealership did mostly honor what they originally said in that the $1,250 I paid will cover the 40-70k service. However, in addition to all the other stuff I ve dealt with and how long it s taken to resolve, I felt it was important to mention. I also purchased the tire/wheel and cosmetic coverage so I spent over $20k on a car with a KBB value of $16k...not a $5k used car with six figure mileage on it. I ll update this review again once I receive the coupons I m owed and then again when the dealership actually follows through on the promised service. To be continued...

This was my original review from late October: Matt Boczarski was fantastic to work with. It took me a week after seeing the car in person to pull the trigger and Matt worked with me the whole time. He even prepared paperwork prior to my arrival to take delivery, which made the typical car purchase at a dealer feel like I was at CarMax. If all new car dealers operated this way the process would never feel unsettling. Go visit Matt and you won t be disappointed.

I've never had a more terrible experience. Took my Tiguan here because it was part of the lawsuit for timing belt jumping too early. What Volkswagen offered to pay still left my portion way more than the car is worth so I didn't go through with repairs. I had the car towed back to me and received it worse condition than I sent it to them! They did not put the gear shift back together, so the car is not able to stay in park. We have to have 2x4s behind the tires so it doesn't roll away. They also rolled the windows down when they did diagnostics and couldn't be bothered to roll them back up. Again, car doesn't start so they have to stay down. It's a good thing we have a garage, because what if I had to park it on the street? With the rain and snow? There were many other small things that came back in bad condition. When we called them to have someone put our car back the way we sent it to them, they said they wouldn't be doing that and pretty much gave us an "it is what it is" answer... when they weren't dodging our calls. I'm in the process of finding a lawyer to deal with this.

My fiance and I appreciated his knowledge, attitude, and overall help as he was very personable and easy to talk to. He definitely made us feel welcome and good about purchasing a new vehicle. I recently purchased a certified used VW at Autobarn City VW. John Gordon made this process easy and did his absolute best to get me a fair price for my new car and my trade-in. The Autobarn team genuinely cared about my experience and gave top-notch service at every step of the process. John was honest, direct, and extremely helpful - I did not feel pressured at any point in the process. Overall, great service and a trustworthy team.

I dealt with John, Mark and Dan and they were all a pleasure to work with. They were all friendly, not pushy, went over my new car and everything, John my sales person kept checking back with me while I was waiting to see the finance manager which was so nice. I was impressed with how well they treated me.

We purchased our car towards the end of May from the Autobarn City Volkswagon. Slavi Kukov, our sales associate, was very personable, knowledgeable, and relaxed. He was not pushy. Autobarn did not have the exact trim level of the car we wanted, so they offered us a better deal on a car they had on the lot. My husband and I really wanted the sunroof and navigation options, and the dealership was able to get us the exact model, trim level, and color of car we wanted within 2 days. The finance guy (I forget his name) was also very friendly, informative, and quick. They gave us a great deal for our trade-in as well. Overall we were very happy with our experience at the Autobarn and with our sales associate. The best part is that we LOVE our new car, a 2012 red Golf TDI. It is comfortable, drives like a dream, and is getting wonderful gas (diesel) mileage on my very long commute! We would definitely recommend them if you are looking for a volkswagon!

Dec 1-14 purchased used MB. Missing paper manuals, one key, front license plate mount & drivers floor mat. Given 4 used worthless tires which no buyers on Craig's list or E-bay. Sent a pdf man.Told by rep they would provide manuals, plate mount and help with key. After numerous calls and E-mails(most not returned) call from rep, mid-dec, reminded I had signed all papers and there was no legal requirement for them to do anything. I agreed and told him I thought they were honest & had a moral responsibility. He said they would order manual and screw lic on front bumper if I would bring auto back; I told him that was not acceptable on a $47,000 auto. Followed up with many calls and E-mails thru Jan 17. Feb 2 rcvd owners man, no lic plate mount or help with key no mention of missing floor mat. BUYER BEWARE !!!!!!!! MY RATING IS MINUS 0

I recently purchased a Tiguan SEL Autobarn City VW. I came in knowing exactly what I wanted and I was not disappointed in the service or in the delivery of my expectations. Mike Colgan was very helpful and assisted me through the process as well as gave me the comfort level I needed to go ahead with the purchase. In all, the team was very attentive and efficient.

Two thumbs up for JP Scala who helped me long distance arrange a purchase for my daughter. I am on the west coast and helped my daughter do extensive research for her first car purchase, setting up test drives at several dealers for several makes of cars. She finally settled on the VW Golf and was set to purchase at another dealer, but walked away when they wouldn't stand by their written quote. I located the exact model and trim package through JP. He not only beat the other dealer's quote, but set aside the car for my daughter to test drive, even though it was 6 days until she could arrange time off from work. He clearly communicated the cost, even sending a photo of the quote, explained the details of financing that the other dealer wasn't willing to disclose (did not end up financing car), and kept in touch with me as the test drive day arrived. When my daughter arrived, he knew she was really tired from her work schedule and worked efficiently and compassionately to get her out the door as soon as he could. He recommended turning in her rental car at a place close to his dealership, which saved her a bunch of time and money. His cup of coffee and kind words were much appreciated. There was no pressure from anyone to add on a lot of other items to the sale, they were offered, but there was no push back on the no thanks. Having walked away from a sour deal a week earlier, my daughter's experience purchasing from JP was "as easy as it could have been." JP made the whole experience pleasant and bucked the image of nonprofessional, nontransparent dealers we had previously encountered. Thanks JP!

Although the dealership did not have the exact model I wanted, Michael Colgan, the sales person went to St. Louis to get the exact car I wanted - GOLF TDI Tech package, 4-door w/manual trans. I certainly was impressed and felt valued as a customer. I highly recommend this place!

Laura Torres was patient, knowledgeable, efficient, not pushy, and made our car buying experience exciting and joyous. (I say that because we have been shopping for a while and most of the other dealerships we visited to test drive and check out cars we had seen on line were incredibly aggressive or just treated us like we didn t matter once we explained we were still shopping and not necessarily ready to commit. Their loss! Plus, who can say spending or financing a huge chunk of change is joyous? Me, in my new whip, blasting heat with the sunroof open in a very cold Chicago November! That s who!)
I would recommend Laura specifically but the whole dealership was great. I was also impressed that there were no traditional offices lined up way in the back or off to the side like most dealerships. The sales people s desks were arranged in the same open space you first walked into. We had enough room for privacy but didn t feel pressured/cornered in a little office.
My husband and I have been car shopping for a while and knew what we wanted. We had been to at least 6 dealerships last week and had mostly received the usual salesmen BS. We wanted a used but almost new VW Golf and preferably the Wolfsburg edition. We mostly went to dealerships who already listed fair prices. I did my homework and knew what the car should cost and what I was willing to spend. I don t mind haggling at all and previously haggling down the price has served me very well. But with all the online car dealerships and Carfax and all the available resources, haggling just seems unnecessary.
The car was we bought was exactly as advertised, no surprises. And it was the exact car we wanted(color, features, price, etc) which isn t always easy when you are you looking for an almost new USED car. Although the price was already fair and within the good Bluebook value, I appreciated the creative effort to help us make this car the best value for the best car with the best features and warranties. Between that and Laura being one of the only car salesmen I ve ever been happy to buy from, that is why we chose to purchase our car here.
** Save yourself the nightmare and the deceptive traps and see what this place has to offer. I can guarantee Laura will make it a refreshing experience!

Most of the time, I find going to dealerships akin to that of a dental visit. Sometimes slightly more painful. But my opinion changed after working with Joe Cox and everyone @ Autobarn City. Beyond friendliness (which we encountered all over the dealership). Joe listened. He educated. He was patient. And ultimately went above and beyond finding the right vehicle and locating one for us. He even picked it up. And he got us a price we were pretty pleased with. Couldn't be more happy about our new Atlas and the people I got it from. Highly recommend Joe and the dealership.

Overall, very easy to work with. Great sales rep experience with Dominique. I bought a car from out of state, and they accommodated my schedule in terms of paperwork processing and pick-up. Not giving 5 stars due to less than ideal experience in dealing with a dealer add-on of window VIN etching. In the end, I would do business with them again. Love my new car.

I'm hate that I wasn't as happy or satisfied with my service as the people that gave the good reviews. Having service at the Autobarn has been a unsatisfying experience, having one thing done has caused other problems.We have done business with Volvo sense 1987 this is so sad to know the quality of service has lowered to leaving parts loose.

I just had such a great experience here. My husband and I recently moved to Indiana, and didn't want to drive in to Chicago to get the car we wanted unless we knew that we could get it for a good price. The dealer worked with us on the price over the phone. I've had others refuse to do this in the past.

Once we were there, Allen was the best. He was the most genuinely friendly, competent, and helpful car salesman I've ever worked with. I didn't feel like I was being "sold to." He worked with us on the price of my husband's trade in, knew everything we asked about the car we were considering buying, and was generally just so nice.

Sarge in finance was helpful also. The interest rate he got us was sufficiently low. I appreciate these folks so much. I plan to return soon to trade in my own car.

Unbelievable experience with the team here. My sales representative, Alex, was unbelievable. Not only did he do everything in his power to get me the car I wanted he did so without pushing anything at all on me that I did not want. He presented options, had great follow up and continues to do so since I purchased the CC VR6 4motion from them last Friday.

I went to Autobarn for a two year service for my GTI. Everything was great. I love the new waiting room. And I liked that Bobby Koziol, who took care of the service, knew the moment I parked the car that I was going for the two year service without explaining anything.
Excellent service and although I had to wait, the new waiting room is so nice that it was not a problem. I had my laptop and since WiFI was really fast I did a lot of work during that time in a nice, clean table.

I was dreading buying a car after my Audi was stolen, but I couldn t be any happier with my experience with Miki Kadric and Autobarn City VW. Miki and his manager Chris bent over backwards to make me happy, and did it with no pressure at all.
I came in to the dealership a bit overwhelmed from other dealers, and Micky put me at ease, walking me through some options and dealing with my uncertainties. I put him through the ringer, but he stuck with me, and took the time and effort to obtain the only version of my car available in the TriState area - a 2013 Black 6-speed manual CC.

I love the car, I love the deal we made, and Miki and Autobarn City VW have made a customer for life. In fact, I just went back this weekend and purchased a used auto for my girlfriend. It s so nice finding a place you can trust, with people who seem genuinely eager to make you happy.

These guys don't know the difference between their A$$ and their elbow!! Would not recommend to anyone. If you do go in to look at a car, confirm it's there before you go.

This dealer will add $299 for "Theft Shield" and other hundreds money extra add-on up charge fees, those not mentioned on the website. And the unfriendly manager will "negotiate" with you, give you much stress and compel you. Bad experience! The certified car needs certified fee to get CPO service. Need insurance? $200+ down payment for Talro insurance agency and give you "Founders Insurance". But the Sales Consultant is good.

I was a loyal customer for several years and bought 2 cars from here. And I'll never go back again because of how terrible their service department has treated me. They're very quick to dismiss any issues you bring up with your car. I dropped my car off 4 times for a loud noise coming from the rear axel and the SERVICE MANAGER told me that the loud noise that sounds like a dinosaur crying is NORMAL on a 2016 car that is 5 months old. STAY AWAY

I can only Speak about the service dept here, since moving to Chicago from NYC I have been searching for a honest reliable place to get my VW serviced. I have been to a few other shops out here and always wind up back at Autobarn City. Conrad Swiatkowski made me feel like I was at a friends shop, explained everything that needed to be done and treated my car like it was his. Looks like I have found my goto shop for all my VW needs !!!!

Just completed my purchase with Enrique and I could not have had a better experience. He was honest, informative and knowledgeable in helping make my final choice. Dan the manager was also instrumental in my purchase and financing. I did not feel that I was pushed or hounded like some other car dealers. This was a very good experience for me, and I have purchased many cars thru the years.

I flew in from Detroit to buy a used truck from JP, I spoke to him on the phone and continued to ask questions via text and he always answered me quickly. He was very easy to work with and straightforward, he even had the service dept put the truck on a lift for inspection. Kissy made the financing easy and explained everything through the process. This was by far the most comfortable and easiest vehicle purchase experience I have had.

This is a car dealer. Bought car here 2016. Service is decent. Did have manager service car one time because of strike. Got another car in December and had much better experience. Jp was who I dealt with and he was great. Had problem with heater blower after a few months. They took it in immediately and fixed the problem. They also hooked me up with some weather tech floor mats. That was greatly appreciated. If the heater didn't go out at all were talking 5 stars.

Brought in my 2013 Tiguan for service due to a power steering pump failure. Car had just under 23k miles and in immaculate condition. Received it back with scratches on the steering wheel and a big gouge on the glove box lid. Took a week for them to get back to me after I called, emailed, and sent pictures of the damage. Brought it back in and they claim the damage was done by the towing company. I explained that the flatbed driver used the tow hook while I sat inside and steered the car onto the truck. I then followed the truck to the dealership, and then sat inside the car again while it was unloaded. The flatbed driver was never in the car! Getting nowhere with the service manager, I contacted corporate VW customer service. They try for over a week to help resolve this issue. The Autobarn Ciy VW concedes nothing and VW customer service calls me bewildered that they can't help. By the way... the service department at the Autobarn City VW, never filled out an inspection report before servicing my car, and admitted as such to VW customer service! That is standard procedure!
Avoid this place at all costs, this is not only my first VW, this is also my last.

My parents bought me a VW Passat from here it was a great experience. For starters, the customer service was amazing, they were able to set up an appointment to see the car I wanted and leave the dealership with it. It was hassle free for reasonable pricing and a car in perfect shape. In addition, Alex Paszkowski, the person helping my parents out was very kind, honorable, and just overall respectful to my parents which made it a pleasant experience to come to an agreement that everyone was satisfied with. I would recommend coming here and working with Alex! Would certainly come back to purchase a vehicle here in the future.

I had done all of my research online, so there wasn't a lot I needed from the dealer. Eddie was still really great to walk me through the various features of the vehicle and provide me with financing options. I never felt pressured into financing it through VW, which was great!

I recently had to bring in my car for some service work on 5/8, Rick Ferraro was my service advisor. They identified the issue with my car quickly and were hoping to have it done the same day however the replacement part they received was defective so they couldn't finish the repair. Rick informed me that they'd get me a loaner car for the weekend from the Enterprise Rent a Car that is located right next to them. I had no issue getting the rental car from Enterprise and they finished the repairs on my car on 5/11. Definitely another good, hassle-free experience with Autobarn City VW. Everyone that I've dealt with at the dealership has been very pleasant and friendly, from the service advisors to the porters. Thanks again for the continued good service!
