This is my favourite cinema, it costs slightly more but you can have a drink whilst you watch a film and the bar is great to.

Food used to be quite good but is now outstanding. Now serving Korean and Greek food amongst others so id definitely recommend coming here as the menu has changed drastically.

The screens aren't the biggest but it's all round great cinema experience. Can't fault it.

One star organisation only because you can t give none. The marketing manager needs sacking because of his comments. I d urge people to boycott until they show the world they don t employ ignorant fools.

I love city screen, possibly the best riverside cafe in the city with a great view. The food is reasonable priced, as are the drinks, and it is a fantastic place to kick back and enjoy an afternoon.

This is a fine cinema, great films, food and staff.

One of the best Cinemas I've visited worldwide, it's got beautiful art on the wall, it's got great booze available on tap, the staff are super friendly and we'll educated on film, it's fantastic

Terrible service. Went to see blade runner 2049 with friends and they wouldn't let me in because I didn't look 15 even when my mum brought me my passport from Selby they didn't let me watch the film. And I had recently been to see kingsman the golden circle at the city screen. I also found the staff to be unhelpful, rude and ignorant.

Still one of my favourite cinemas in York. Good venue.

Convenient if you're caught short and need a wee. The waterside cafe has good views, is always busy, friendly and rather welcoming with a selection of drinks and cakes to choose from. The cinema is cosy, comfortable, child friendly and good alternative to travelling out to Vue.

Always clean and great customer service. Can be expensive but you can get a membership card which knocks money off food drinks and movies.

Good old building ...nice bar downstairs but gets very busy on the days of baby and toddler cinema...

Best cinema I've been to for enjoying a good new movie. Don't accept a soulless multiplex. Love this place.

Met a mate here for coffee. A good venue with a nice atmosphere and fab coffee.

I enjoyed the film despite missing so much of the dialogue. I am very disappointed that subtitles shows are so infrequent. I would come more often to the cinema if this service was made more available. Thanks

Fabulous cinema, great sound and visual quality. The seats are FABULOUS!!!

Great cinema. Super handy location, great screen quality and size. The only downside is that it's a little on the expensive side and there is only 3 screenn. Also not all new releases get shown here.

City Screen is always a great place to meet and to see films. Earlier review was an error. I have been going since it opened and love the kind of films it puts on including the Saturday morning specific genre films. Fabulous place

Love the 'Yorkshire Blackout' ale from here with great views of the river on the outdoor seating area and reasonably priced.

Good selection of mainstream and indie movies, unlike most theatres. Prices are good for those with a membership card, very friendly staff.

Great venue, good atmosphere, certainly the place to watch a movie, or eat and drink overlooking the River ouse.

A nice cinema. Good seating with a clear view of the screen wherever you choose to sit. Situated in the centre of York, it is convenient for public transport. In house Bistro is also very good but gets incredibly busy.

We live going here. It may not have lots of screens but we love the snacks and live streamings they show. Best cinema in York!

Set in nice surroundings and spacious. There's a restaurant/cafe bar to eat before/ after a movie. The only downside was the lack of leg space and I'm quite short otherwise it's a nice place

High quality cinema with an excellent cafe/bar area overlooking the river. With only 3 screens the film selection is limited but seating is very comfortably despite slightly limited leg room.
