Wonderful dining experience for our party of 3 on Christmas Eve. Staff was professional and friendly, food was excellent, ambience was upscale, adult and welcoming. Even the music was amazing. We had a great time and will be back next time we are in Phoenix.

Top-notch dinner experience! Everything was 4star: atmosphere- it was a little noisy for my old ears, but they were very busy, of course it's going to be noisy; service- our 5 star young man knew his product, worked as fast as he could, didn't get one thing mixed up; food and drink- crab cakes were beyond delicious, everyone loved their salads, everyone raved about their entrees. My Amaro meatloaf was fantastic! I'm a salt lover, I could have had it a bit more salty, but I get why restaurants don't add salt. I would have liked a gluten free, chocolate free dessert choice.

What can I say it was an amazing experience! Gary, our server made us feel like we were the only guests in a full restaurant on a busy Saturday night. We're from Seattle and have high expectations for seafood and the Scallops over corn grits which he highly recommend and it didn't disappoint.

We went here for our anniversary and, holy cow, this was awesome! We made a reservation, and I'm glad we did. We arrived a bit early, but our table was ready. They even put a "Happy anniversary" card on the table, which I thought was sweet.

The service was quick, friendly and our server seem very knowledgeable. I took her recommendation and tried something knew.

I had the duck breast, which was the tastiest thing I've ever eaten, and my husband had the fillet mignon, which was also delicious.

The cocktails were also very good. The world's end is my new favorite drink.

We will definitely be back here for happy hour, and again for dinner some day.

Experienced the restaurant week tasting menu for $30 -- the original chopped salad was amazing and worth the hype, pan seared scallops were delicious served on top of a creamed corn. Overall, the atmosphere is trendy, relaxed, and food was excellent. Looking fwd to coming back next time we are back in Scottsdale.

What a great find! Loved the ambience - warm and intimate but family friendly. Staff were super attentive and welcoming. Our waiter went above and beyond, noticing our son loved to color and out of nowhere brought some more stuff to keep him entertained. The food was incredible. Menu was a bit limited, but the value and quality were superb. Fresh and unique takes and pub fair.

Had a very nice meal and overall experience at Citizen Public House. Dark-ish inside, with a great bar in the center of the room. It was quite busy when we were there with everything from couples to families, to large groups. Food was delicious, and our server was very good. Will definitely go back.

I love this place. We go often. I wish they would change their menu once in a while or have seasonal specials... but really cute place, great service, good cocktails. Chop salad is the best :)

Decided on this place after looking at dozens of fancy restaurants all week for a planned fancy dinner date night out with someone special, choosing this place made me feel immensely proud of my choice because it was JUST WHAT I WAS HOPING FOR

I had a pretty good burger and beer here. I thought it was a bit pricey but the atmosphere was nice. It was pretty busy but they still got us or food in a pretty quick manner. I'd go back again.

The best chopped salad. I mean it has its own facebook page. Idk if its the texture, the dressing, or the quality and freshness of the salad ingredients, but it's the best. Just thinking about it makes me want it. If i were to revisit Scottsdale, Arizona this may be the first spot i go to or the only spot i go to. Not only for their salad but also for their scallops with grits and pork belly pastrami. Citizen Public House delivers with ambiance, service, and obviously delicious food. Looking around at what the other tables ordered and from what our server had said each dish they offer is a customer favorite (and each table either had exactly what we had on our table or other dishes we thought of getting) and I believe him. Each dish we had was rich with flavor, seasoned perfectly, and just melds perfectly at each bite.

5 star experience with 4 star prices! Scallops were amazing and the pork belly app was dinner sized. Make sure you go with an empty stomach, they give you more than a fair share for fine dining. Highly recommended

One of our favorite spots in Old Town. We got just before 6pm on a Saturday evening and got to take advantage of happy hour (a pleasant surprise) - we opted for the fondue and it hit the spot. It came with tasted bread, pears and slices of sausage as the cheese delivery options. Would absolutely come back!

Everyone was greatly impress. Ryan was an awesome server with great recommendations. We shared the chopped salad and the table had short ribs (2), meatloaf and scallops. The bread pudding was great although the chocolate / peanut butter cake fell just a little flat. We will return.

I've been to Citizen Public House a few times and ...

I've been to Citizen Public House a few times and overall, am happy with the food and service. The monkfish and the shorts ribs, for instance, are quite good. However, the most recent visit was rather disappointing from both a service and expectation perspective.

My friend and I had specifically chosen CPH for a menu item we're both big fans of. I'd look at the online menu to confirm it was there. However, upon dining, we found out they'd changed their menus (and not recently, either). When we asked the waiter why they'd advertise one thing online, yet not live up to that advertisement, he said they changed menus so often there was no way they'd ever be able to update the website and, basically, blew us off as if our frustration was ridiculous. He told us the menus online are just examples of what they could serve and should be treated as examples only.

For a restaurant of this stature they should have no issues updating the menus on their website to be current. People look at menus when they decide where to go- that's the basic rule of dining. It's completely unfair to the diner, and somewhat deceitful, to misrepresent what you're offering. And if you're going to put a "sample" menu out on the website, you should clearly call that out, which they do not.

My advice to folks looking to dine here: don't trust the online menus to be valid.

Our drinks were fantastic. Our service was really good but there was nothing special about the food. The fondue was cold, short ribs were ok and the burger was good. I'm glad we tried it but I won't need to go back.

Fantastic experience! Our server (Sean) was well versed on all the menu items which really helped since it was our first time dining at the Citizen Public House. I can't find a single thing to complain about. We had a great start with the fun innovative cocktails & wine. The cocktails were followed by lovely appetizers & entrees. Then, a strong finish with dessert. Kudos to the mixologists, savoury chefs & of course pastry chef ! Cheers! Can't wait to come back soon.

Excellent food and service. The short ribs and scallops are the two best items on their menu. We brought another couple here and they loved those dishes as well since they shared both. We will definitely come here again and again.

I just ate here for the first time with a business client. We were both blown away by the food and the service. We ordered the chopped salad and it was over the top. We you see it it looks so simple but it is not. I could have eaten two of them. In fact I recommended other business clients to go and all of them told me they were blown away. The dinners were fantastic and they have a very good selection of bourbon.

So, the cocktails are great (especially during happy hour) food is okay. If you seat at the bar it s hard to catch bartenders attention, so our service was kinda slow, which is surprising for $$$ restaurant, but after all it was good place to catchup with friends.

The drinks here and the happy hour are top notch but the food I had left a lot to be desired. I ordered the Peppercrusted filet and it was terrible especially factoring in the price. It was cooked just right but it was literally COVERED in what seemed like peppercorns. The proper was so thick it was getting stuck in my teeth and just overpowered the taste of the steak. I heard from friend that the short ribs are delicious, I'll probably give that a go if I ever make it back there.

I went here last Saturday with a couple of friends of mine and let me tell you the food here is amazing. The scallops are perfectly prepared and the chopped salad is out of this world. Also the bartender pours heavy drinks and the staff is beautiful here.

I have to say I'm extremely disappointed in the recent menu change. About half of the items have been removed and I don't know if I ever will return again. Some of my favorite classic dishes that were removed were the noble bread plate, filet mignon, roasted duck, and my favorite cocktail Instant Gratification. The menu used to be perfect and those items were what I looked forward to the most. Just a warning for anyone returning!

What a fun low down place amidst the chic atmosphere of Scottsdale. My family went in prior to a visit to an "upscale" martini bar and no one wanted to leave. The beer is cold the clientele is real, the music rocks l and what more can I say. A Scottsdale icon!

Scottsdale is full of fine restaurants; we re doing our best to try them all, and so far our best dinner has been here, simply for the quality of the food. In the lively 5th Avenue shopping district, Looks unassuming enough on the outside, and is comfortable but unremarkable inside, but the staff is cordial and the food is first-rate. Menu is American comfort food, but the place doesn t need glitz or the exotic to be memorable. It seemed unlikely when the waiter said their chopped salad was renowned, but that was no overstatement. The atmosphere isn t remarkable, but the food definitely is!

The food was really good. It was a good speed for them to make it. It gets loud when there s a lot of people but when it s late, it s pretty quiet. If you have a kid, they don t have a menu for them, they do give them paper and crayons for them to draw with so they won t get board. I would call it more of a adult restraunt. If the kids like seafood, I would recommend the fried catfish for them without all the extra stuff on it. If you want more of a kid friendly restraunt, you might not want to come here. The fried catfish was really good.
