Came to Scottsdale on a quick getaway with my bae and Citizens has the most stars and best reviews.

Once here, we realized that we should have probably looked at the menu earlier because there weren't a ton of vegetarian options- but we made do.
Their chopped salad was delicious but came with smoked salmon. Their cauliflower dish was also good but it was the only veg entree. :/
My hubs liked his pork belly option but I'm reviewing so, I still give -1 since I didn't have a lot to chose from.

Service was great and atmosphere was fancy. Still a good choice and would go back- but I would probably prepare myself or eat ahead of time.

Tasty food! They had lovely entrays like popcorn mixed in bacon and Velveeta cheese infused in a burger.

Very vibrant atmosphere (a bit loud). You will need a reservation. Definitely get the chopped salad.

I was pleasantly surprised! My wife and I sat at the bar and had two of thier dishes. The gorganzola infused mac and cheese and the smart chicken... BOTH very good. .The Atmosphere was nice the service was a little slow and aloof from the bartenders and the drink menu was WAY over priced. The bartenders need to tuck in thier shirts they look unkept and unprofessional. The food will make you try it AGAIN

Great choice for a birthday celebration! Great cocktails! Brandon is very good at his job, a superb mixologist! Highly recommend the meatloaf, the pork belly, chopped salad. Citi-zen is officially my favorite drink! Persian is very hydrating as it has fresh cucumbers in it.
We will certainly be back to try the pink paloma, the fondue, and of course the legendary salad again!

Gr8 food and service. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We will definitely be back.

Have been a huge fan since my first visit when I had the duck entree, but now also a fan of the scallops and also oddly the meatloaf which is delicious. Also the Citizen chop salad is a staple and must have. Always a great experience with no complaints

Nice place to go have great dinner. Service is friendly, and food is even better. Price is a bit on the higher end, but definitely worth going.

It's like they serve half glasses of wine for full price. Nice atmosphere but I'm not fond of the "value" at this place at all.

Always the very best. Went for happy hour. The cheese fondue is the best! My Citizen cocktail was just as good as I remembered. Wonderful service. I love this place!

Not sure why there is so much hype for this place. Our server was good, and so where the appetizers. The entrees though were bland and overall disappointing. Worth going for a drink and light fare but I wouldn't go back for a full dinner. Their Cobb salad is the must get item on the menu.

The food was really good. We did share their chopped salad and it was delicious. My husband had the lamb and said it was fantastic. The cocktails were so so. I ordered the manhattan and it was honestly not that great. Someone needs to learn how to make these with more bourbon and less cheap vermouth. I couldn't even tell there was bourbon in there to be honest with you. It was so loud we had to all yell at each other and did not enjoy our evening that much. I like to go out with friends so I can have nice conversation with good food. It is not possible at this place. You feel li,e they want you to get out so they can fill your table up again. There is no sound dampening and the music is far too loud. I know I sound like an old lady, I am not, but i do not understand why trendy restaurants think this is a great way to have dinner. Just stare at each other, eat your food, pay top dollar for mediocre cocktails, pay a fair amount of money and leave. It was too bad, we probably won't go back. There are other places with equally good food and better cocktails that will give you a nicer experience.

Excellent service and food. Been here twice and 5 star reviee for both times. The meatloaf is amazing and so is the fondue and omg on the chocolate creme thingy for dessert. Will be back again soon

This is one of the best restaurants in Old Town Scottsdale. Drinks are excellent and the food is incredible. I loved the fondue and the scallops!

Amazing dishes! Apps were 15-20, Mains 25-35. Such a fun experience, I was blown away by the creativity of the menu. Had the Bratta, Beet salad, hummus, and a raw fish app. All fabulous.

This restaurant is out of this world! Ye olde salutation and the underground cocktails are the best I ve ever tried. The original chopped salad and tacos are very delicious and the service and the waiter helped us to pick the food and drinks we liked.
No wonder Citizen is one of the places in the Pheonix!

Rack of lamb was insane! The game hen was delicious but not enough to eat.

This food was delicious. The staff made the experience that much better. I would recommend the meatloaf. It was out of this world.

Best food I've had in Arizona period. If you don't visit this restaurant on your trip, or weekly if you live in the area, you are missing out

Great food. Cannot go wrong with surf or turf here. I had the scallops -they were delicious. We celebrated a birthday here, and the food and service were on point. Drinks are crazy good too! I definitely recommend this place for special occasions, and just for out-of-towners to try at least once when in Scottsdale.

Great food and 5 star service. Was there for restaurant week. The service is on par to the finest upscale restaurants.

Our food was amazing kudos to the chefs but our service was unfortunate. Our waitress was so sweet but we only saw her three times. They busted tables so fast you felt like you couldn t even relax. But again, the food was so good.

The grilled octopus in spicy watermelon gazpacho with fried capers and noble bread was such a great twist of flavors (second picture). I loved the textures and the bit of sweet creaminess of the ling cod with
bok choy and pickled papaya (first picture). Overall, CPH is a great restaurant with quality service, as well as one of my favorites!

Like so many pricey restaurants these days, nothing really inventive or special here, but good well prepared food in a room that's a little loud. Good people watching.

The starters were great-imported olives and crab cakes. It was social hour when we attended for dinner with our four year old, so the half priced drinks were nice. The maitre d was good too bringing our daughter some crayons so she could draw on the paper tablecloth. It fell short for us when the entrees came out. The scallops - my order - were too fishy for me so I switched with my husband. He said they were good. I took his short ribs but actually could not enjoy them. They were dry even with the sauce and super sweet overall as a dish. It is possible Or even likely it was a reheat from yesterday because it didn't taste fresh or good. While it's not possible to please all guests it would have been nice if our server cared to do anything about it. After having he dish for one minute and trying it I made it clear I didn't like it. IlHe didn't seem to care and asked me to sit with It, pour the sauce. I didn't eat it. My husband ate most of it and I gave some to my daughter. I didn't want to try another main as I was concerned I wouldn't like it and end up paying for another dish. To top it off it was my birthday and I came away hungry. Do not recommend. Would not return.

Great atmosphere and friendly staff. They were accommodating to my dates dietary needs. Spare ribs were cooked perfectly. Fall apart and have great flavor! Will be coming back to try the rest of the menu.

The food is pricey but THIS IS fine dining which is to be expected but, one definitely gets what he/she pays for.

The beer and wine selections are fantastic and the food is amazing. My rare burger was cooked to perfection and tasted immaculate.

We also had the catfish appetizer and it was amazing. Completely ridden with flavour.

Have eaten at alinea. Have eaten at french laundry. And can honestly say this place is a winner. Everything is good...scallops...deconstructed pastrami...yum!!! Cocktails were great...try the import!!! (Cocktail)

Wonderful meal tonight! I had the chopped salad and the filet. Incredible! The food was wonderful and service by Paul was out of this world. Andrew, the owner, stopped by to introduce himself and ensure the meal was going well. I tried two of the signature cocktails and they were amazing too. I highly recommend!

Food was great even met our chef. This is the kind of service more places should strive for.

I travel to Phoenix four or five times a year, and, while I am still searching for more, this is the only restaurant in the area that I have been to multiple times and will go to again. It's nearly perfect. The menu is interesting and creative, and the food exceeds expectations of the menu. The bar is especially good. Their own cocktails, especially the barrel-aged ones are worth the trip alone. The bar is also knowledgeable in the classics. The wait staff is great and really balances knowledge and attentiveness without being overbearing. As a slight critique I would like to see more table etiquette training, but there are not big misses here. This is also a great place for business dinners though it can be a little loud.

So happy we ate here with so many great restaurants listed in Scottsdale to choose from. Our server, Bradley was casual, but so professional. The atmosphere was fun and loved dining in the patio area. The cocktails were great and the food even better! Had the meatloaf and pork belly pastrami. We will be back.

Very cool restaurant with a great vibe. We had a wonderful waiter, very attentive and friendly. The food was not great. I really expected a lot more. Nothing was hot and lukewarm is being generous. Had the scallops with corn grits. The scallops were very tasty. The corn grits tasted like creamed corn and were way to rich. Not to mention there were barely any on the plate. The short ribs at least one was good. The other was dry and thrashed potatoes were cold. Won't go back for another try.

The food was exceptional & the wait staff very polite & attentive. It was nice to see all waitstaff wearing masks & guests were seated with social distancing. We highly recommend the Cobb salad that was shared between 4 adults before our tasty entrees of sea scallops, a hamburger & short ribs. We'll be back~

We have vacationed in Scottsdale many times and we used to frequent a restaurant called Cowboy Ciao specifically for the Stetson Salad. So we were saddened to learn that the restaurant had closed. But sad no more - because this most amazing salad is being served at the Citizen Public House. The atmosphere of this place is great - although it is a little on the noisy side. Our waiter Josh was great. The drinks were delicious. Unfortunately we didn t have room for dessert because the chocolate cake sounded sumptuous. This will be a must visit in our next trip.

The food and service here is amazing. Great atmosphere although it was a bit too upscale for the type place we were looking for. We came here on a spur of the moment when the other restaurant was too busy not. It is still a great place and the food was 5/5. I would definitely come here again but maybe not the place you're looking for on a night out with friends. Seems more of a anniversary date night or something for a special occasion with family.

Drinks were decent, especially on happy hour. There are a few places closer by that I may choose to go to first, but it is always a good fall back location when i'm in the area.

The salad, crab cakes, and scallops are phenomenal. The staff is very friendly and attentive.

Good weekend dinner crowd as always. I really enjoyed the cocktails and the portions are ENORMOUS so share if possible. The catfish po' boy was a little greasy but not bad and the fries are very good. You can't go wrong with the burger here. We usually sit at the bar and typically get very good service and enough elbow room that it's comfortable. A good spot to kickoff your evening out in Old Town.

Amazing dinner. Excellent atmosphere. Definitely include as a go to dinner.

Came here with my girlfriend because she was craving their house salad and scallops. The atmosphere was very upscale casual and we enjoyed sitting out on the patio.

Service was excellent and we were amazed by how quickly our food and drinks were prepared. All of our food was delicious and well-prepared. We ll definitely be back.

Had the opportunity to visit for the first time and found this to be a remarkable restaurant. From the host & Hostess to our waiter and runner, to the managers who checked on us to see that we were enjoying our meal. Food is "Top Notch", Service is "Superior" and ambience is quaint and relaxed, even with a bar in the middle of the room. Will be returning "Very Soon"!!!
