We really appreciated the seeing this show even though it was dark in content.
The deal with the meal beforehand was a real treat and delicious.

Just saw Matilda with my grandson and my daughter. We all loved it. Mr and Mrs Wormwood were very good. Matilda was wonderful.
I've always had fantastic experiences at the Citadel. The only hitch that happened was that today, they forgot to unlock the bathrooms for the school groups coming in. However, this was fixed by a quick trip to the box office and a quick message over the radio, so they definitely still get full marks from me! Visitors always have a fantastic time!
I'm always impressed by the quality of the productions. We were excited go see this version of a Christmas Carol one last time. It was great!
As You Like It was absolutely brilliant! The Beatles theme worked perfectly, and the cast couldn't have been better suited to their roles- the talent on stage was awe-inspiring; everyone there was a phenomenal multitalented artist, acting multiple roles, playing a variety of instruments, dancing and singing- I think Shakespeare would've loved this, I know I did.
As with the attached Canada Place building, the building, lobby and foyer make for an excellent atmosphere with the running water and flora.
Great venue to take a break from the hustle and bustle of downtown Edmonton!
Neat place to see a show or take in the surroundings
Cancelled my favourite speaker for no good reason. I was excited to see him.
Proud to be in the theatre capital of Canada! Never seen a bad production here and the staff, in every field, have been lovely. If you love theatre you can't do better!
I love this place. The plants are very nice. I would come here for lunch if you work or live in downtown Edmonton.
Very comfortable and lots of great shows. I wish the maps had you are here designations. We found it difficult to locate a bathroom
It was a real good experience. I Enjoyed my time there
Almost everyone has a good seat. The Citadel productions are always well done.
Not too proud to have a once great institution in my city turn political, led by an activist as their new director.
This theatre should value freedom of speech, and rethink their decision to block authors and lecturers who talk about uncomfortable topics that the management doesn't agree with personally. Especially when they receive Public funds.
I will rethink attending when they accept a wider range of venues.
The Citadel is a great place to see a show. I've never been disappointed, it's a great venue and super family friendly.
Went and saw Christmas Carol. The show was magnificent. The environment is magical.
My family have been season ticket holders for 18 years and we have truly enjoyed the quality and diversity of the productions the Citadel brings to Edmonton.
Peaceful place to chill, great shows, and lovely indoor garden
It's a shame that the Citadel Theatre cancelled Jordan Peterson's lecture. I suppose that the leadership of the Citadel doesn't realize that art is supposed to be about truth and courage.
Pretty decor and always a wide choice of fantastic performances to choose from!
Great place to even just explore! Kids and I had fun! Thank you! Very clean and well maintained.
Very nice venue, doesn't look like there is a bad seat in the house.
Great theater, with cheap parking underground, amazing atmosphere and the performance we attended was awesome as well. Multiple different theaters are housed within, each a little different depending on the show. Definitely would recommend any show here.
Theater with different genres of plays in the heart of the art district in downtown. There is always something new and the classics put on in this venue. There are also spces that can be rented for events as well as a nice "green space" for pictures and relaxing. The restaurant inside is also a good option for pre performance drinks and dinner.
Tremendous acting, singing, as wellas sets and costumes.
Lovely venue, the indoors gardens are beautiful and worth a walk through, a nice oasis in the winter
hot..Went was hot.Went to see Tempest. Did not enjoy.
Such a great building with its gorgeous garden. Definitely go check out Rapidfire theatre and Slight of Mind(if its still playing)
This is a wonderful theater that has many interesting shows to watch.
Awesome facility, great entertainment & well maintained
Great atmosphere!... With awesome and enthusiastic staff creating a lifetime experience. I always have an amazing time, and I highly recommend anyone looking for a night out with entertainment to check out the upcoming performances. Performances range all over from seasonal shows such as The Nutcracker to improv and comedian shows.
I was going to be in Edmonton for my favourite speaker. Citadel cancelled the talk without a reason.
Well organized but during the break, you have to wait in a long line for snacks
Always a great time. Love the improv shows at the citadel. Always new concepts at consistently high quality! There is a pedway connection to Churchill LRT station if you're tired of looking /paying for parking.
Went to a TEDx conference. Lovely place, always clean, the staff was friendly.
I've been to a lot of plays over the years, the standards are always through the roof.
This is a horrible space that mistreats it s guests and performers. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Seen Mama Mia with my family great show cast was amazing and the theatre is stunning .
I have been a season ticket holder here for a few years! The shows are always top notch, the service at the front desk is always helpful and the venue is right downtown. Check out Normands Bistro before the show!
Always have something cool going on there, usually hit up the improv show. Clean.
We went for the first time to see rapid fire improv, it was spectacular! So creative and fun! I laughed/cried!
Very nice atmosphere, nicely decorated. People are very friendly, comfy seats, however due to construction in the area it can be challenging to get to parking. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.
A season ticket subscriber for many years. Love the shows, seats. Underground parking is under $5 for Sunday shows. Evening shows on weekdays, park for $10 and just walk to nearby eateries for dinners before the shows.
Met up with family and friends at the restaurant before the show. Food was good, served hot and staff was attentive. The show was wonderful. Theatre was comfortable. Getting from the underground parking to the theater was a different story. Poor signage for someone that doesn't go there often. The pedway sign on the floor covered in grit so I didn't find it. Was looking on the wall.
For a theatre that is partially government funded denying a public citizen a forum was a mistake. I would like to know which valued members of their community they felt they needed to protect with their decision. I have to give them 1 star as their actions do not line up with my mandate, values or vision statement of open an open dialogue about important and contentious topics.
Always love supporting the arts and the citadel provides such a unique place view it. I've been to see their plays and improv night and both were so much fun! Can't wait to go again.
We went to see Matilda with a group of junior high students and it was very well organized and the play/ musical was well done!
It is a lovely theatre full of great people, and extrordinairy entertainment, whether you are watching a musical or watching a Rapid Fire Theatre show
Great place to catch a good stage performance and building is one of my favorites in edmonton
Cancelled my favourite speaker (Jordan B Peterson) for no good reason speaking about personal responsibility on his book tour (12 Rules for Life). Citadel's executive director should step down so they can fulfill their Vision Statement. Tax dollars for free speech not ideology.
Rapid fire theatre. Friday and Saturday nights. Great entertainment. Great value. Support local theatre.
Shocter theater is beautiful and currently home to As you like it and Beatles twist on a Shakespearean comedy. So fun!
The experience depends on whether the show you see matches your taste. I didn't enjoy the new Christmas Carol because I don't like musicals, but I will still give the theatre 4 stars because the cast, crew, and front-of-house staff are first rate.
Really nice theater. Cramped at times but that's part if the charm
Nice sound. Lots of seating. Heated parking under the Citadel and Library.
Citadel management decided to deny a speaking engagement because of partisanship.
The Citadel is a lovely venue at which I've enjoyed many theatre performances. It's a publicly funded venue and it's a real shame that our politics have stooped so low that we would deny a speaker for having unpopular views.
You would deny the man a venue to speak? On what grounds? Is it because his views differ from yours? I'm an Alberta taxpayer and I really appreciate Jordan Peterson's well thought-out views. What gives the Citadel board the right to unilateraly deny his appearance? Was it even the board or just one reactionary beurocrat?
I've listened to several of Peterson's speeches and he is eccentric and passionate but extremely well spoken. He never seems hateful against any group even when hateful people attack him. He certainly doesn't condone any hate or violence or crime. He preaches tolerance and listening to others. Why would you deny him a venue to speak?
I went to watch 2 plays and one was a musical play "Six" and the other "Fight Night". No lies, they were both incredible and mind-blowing. I enjoyed it from start till end. The prices were not too much for a show that great. Also students get discount on the first week that the play starts, if one has student ID. The first week is crazy and a bit more pricey but other times you get discount. You just have to check out with the reception. "Six" was such an amazing play that got everyone cheering and excited. 10/10 for all
Amazing shows, friendly staff. Keep an eye on this place, there is something amazing that is brewing in the building.
Saw the musical, "Crazy For You"...a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon when it's snowing outside. A great venue, as others have stated, there isn't a bad seat in the house to enjoy the show.
Went to watch the Christmas Carrol with my family. Was quite good. Worth going to it at least once
Any venue that doesn't allow a wide variety of events and speakers because of controversial views and receives public funding should not stand as a institution.
By far one of the best live theaters I have seen. The sound effect, the acts and wardrobe is spectacular
Great little theater. Great performance. Great service.
This place is like my theatre home where everyone is invited.
Great entertainment, lively facility, courteous staff. If only parking and downtown streets weren't so ridiculous.
Ring of Fire was an excellent performance. Very talented Musicians. Theater seating is very comfortable. Stage visability is great.
Enjoyed Six performance last night! What a great show, lively , vibrant, & energetic!! What a treat for Edmonton. So glad we went! #SixYEG #EdmontonCitadel
I have had many amazing nights watching rapid fire theatre
