Fantastic venue, I have never seen a bad show. The cast and crew throw everything they can into each performance and I would highly recommend everyone check out a production.

The productions are performed beautifully by extremely talented individuals. I watched Mama Mia here and I LOVED IT. The show tickets were $100 CAD which was very worth it.
very disappointed my grandma died in the parking lot
The Citadel is a magic downtown stop. The courtyard is wonderful to visit any time of day. Great to take a tropical walk in the winter. Benches everywhere. And they always have cool decorations. (Make sure to try and get to the top of the waterfall, there's a boat on the water up there ;))
There are multiple theatres that are all unique to see shows in. The quality of performances are never disappointing. Even the semi professional shows are some of the best I've seen.
They have a great snack and drink bar before shows. And they use reusable cups that you can keep or return (for a cup refund) to be cleaned and reused.
I highly recommend investing in a visit, show, or meal at the restaurant or coffee shop.
A cultural institution in the heart of downtown Edmonton. I have been attending shows here since childhood. The talent, diversity and quality of performances that the Citadel brings to their stage(s) never ceases to impress. If you haven't taken in a performance lately.....do.
Saw Hadestown November 27. It was fantastic and the venue was beautiful. Big fan of the indoor garden area.
I was really happy that my grandmother was able to sit in a real chair beside our row this year. She finds getting into and out of the theatre row chairs difficult and painful so this time it was a much nicer experience for her.
Love the ambience and the Choi e of shows are quite fun. Year after year we return for a Christmas Carol. Its refreshment selection is good and the prices high, but expected.
I would highly recommend "SWEAT" A Highly charged Live Theatre, Drama/Comedy depicting the harshness of Modern Day Realities. Thank You Cast & Crew for a Stellar Performance.
The live performances here are amazing. Every performance I have been to over the years has been enchanting and entertaining. The actors have a way of drawing you into their world. I have also spent a lot of time enjoying the indoor quiet areas among the beautiful tropical plants that they have.
Alice Through the Looking Glass was fantastic! My husband and I took our 2 little nieces to see it and don't know who enjoyed it more, them or us? If you're thinking of going, don't hesitate! It's a wonderful and unusual show. Totally absorbing.
Very good production quality, enjoyed my time there
The Citadel Theatre was magical looking with all the beautiful Christmas lights. A Christmas Carol was fabulous! We definately left feeling the Christmas spirit!
Bit old inside the actual theatre itself, but the updgrades to the surrounding amenities are nice!
Always a beautiful venue. The atrium is always very calming and soothing.
Great theatres. Good talent for the shows. Beautiful atrium and restuarant too.
Love, love this place and the shows they offer. Staff are professional and super friendly.
What a beautiful venue! It's such an interesting structure. Also, the performance was great.
We had the privilege to see A Christmas Carol and we were blown away with the performance! We'll definitely be back!
Beautiful facility, love the tropical gardens! Great theatre for improv!
Have been to a number of shows here and they are always enjoyable. Seats are great and comfy, view is great andnthe shows are top notch. One of my favourite venues in the city.
High calibre performances, inclusive, accessible and respectful venue. Appreciate efforts to ensure that everyone has access to performing arts with pay what you can performances.
Loved the Christmas Carol...the atmosphere and "the night out"
Great place for a night out. Multiple theaters for live entertainment. Great location downtown close to many great restaurants.
The Rice Theater at the Citadel is a wonderful intimate gem in Edmonton. The shows here vary each season. It's set up like a cafe with candle lit tables, great atmosphere. If you've never been check out the lineup and see a show.
I saw the Christmas Carol last night, the show was GREAT. We bought back row seats (as we bought ticket's last minute), and it warned of a "mild obstruction". The back row seats are on the same level as the seat in front of it, so this "mild obstruction" was not mild at all.. we could not see ANY of the stage. Thank goodness there were some empty seats (still in the back row), but there was 1 empty seat in front of it so we could see some of the stage. One lady that was sitting in this "back row" was sitting on the top of the chair's backing just so that she could see the show. The people beside us left because they couldn't see any of the show. Citadel Theatre, WHY ARE YOU SELLING THESE SEATS TO PEOPLE? I did not spend $95.00 to look at the back of someone's head. Please stop selling these "back row" seats to people warning of a "mild obstruction".. anyone in this row cannot see any of the show, and are probably going to be very disappointed.
Love the citadel:) so many theatres and interesting nooks and crannies:) beautiful greenery too!
Very upset to see they don t support free speech in Canada. Will no long attend events here.
Had a great time with my highschool students. For most of these kids this was their first and last experience at a live play. Children of God did NOT disappoint
Enjoyed the performance. Could easily see and hear everything.
I broke the law, but they didn't kick me out. Honor
It was an amazing night. Love going to the Citadel.
I was here for Imorovaganza, and it was fabulous! The show I went to was improvised Dungeons and Dragons, and though I've never been part of any Dungeons & Dragons, it was hilarious and fun! I strongly recommend that if you have a chance to check out improvaganza while it's in town, do it!
Although there is tons of construction outside, it was easy to get to. The inside is difficult to maneuver around with a cane.
First time in this building. Went to see "Children of God" amazing place. Staff. Seats. Atrium. All out wellness a showcase of downtown to go when you can. Very cool
I have mixed feeling about this seasons plays. Next seasons looks better.
Always enjoy this time of year we get to see some great performances and great performers at this long serving venue for entertainment.
Great production of Mama Mia. We had a great time. The facility itself was clean and open. The staff was very friendly, and upbeat.
Doesn't believe in free speech... Peterson should of been allowed to speak. You disgust me.
As You Like It was an amazing play. The staff were helpful and pleasant. The theatre seats were comfortable. All together a wonderful experience!
Refusing to refer to someone as Ze or Zir, so called "gender neutral pronouns" doesn't make someone a bigot. It's common sense. I used to love coming here, but will no longer be supporting a business that doesn't value free speech. This would have been a smash hit for this venue but it appears they would rather capitulate to a vocal minority of activists on twitter than support our rights to freedom of speech. Dr Peterson can hardly be considered controversial, assuming you actually listen to his reasoning. Truly a disgusting display by this place!
I really appreciate the shows and actors they do a great job.
Great place to go to enjoy a nice evening of live entertainment.
Beautiful place, beautiful shows. Always a fun time.
Fantastic building containing Edmonton s premier performing arts theatres. The complex has 5 theatres for live performances also includes a coffee shop and a restaurant. The building also has a large open indoor garden area. It is a great place to visit even if your not going to a performance. That being said the performances being presented are world class with well known actors. The building is clean and well lit.
Great place, makes one feel like they are important
Very nice place. Superbly decorated. It's like an oasis in downtown. Like going for a walk there everyday.
The best venue for theatre in Edmonton! I love that they are starting to produce more thoughtful and meaningful shows, as well as big Broadway musicals. The staff are all the best, I've never had a bad time with the box office. All the theatre spaces are very comfortable and help put on great pieces of art. I'll never stop coming here!
Been to the citadel a number of times. However, they have a history of cancelling local Albertans' events if they don't like something a participant has said or done in the past.
Excellent venue for shows big and small situated in core downtown area with plenty of parking options around.
Have gone to A Christmas Carol two years in a row. The acting is always top notch and the set design and effects are immersive and fantastically thought out.
