I really enjoyed the food but service is below par, kinda of slow and waitresses are not friendly especially when you ask for something, tend to forget about you quickly, even when business is slow.

This is our favorite local mexican place, casual. Large portions, reasonably priced, just right amount of seasoning. Horchata and fried ice cream are a must try

Best homegrown Mexican food in the state hands down! Never had anything I don't like. The staff is incredible and really makes you feel at home. They are good hard working people. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for good Mexican food.

By far the BEST Mexican restaurant in my area. The shredded beef is to die for .I always have a order of 3 flour enchiladas with shredded beef . I've tasted, through friends, other of their food and it's always really good . Worth a visit for sure.
Amazing food. The service is generally pretty good. The reason for low score on service, is the past couple of times I have been there they gave me my food. no refills our drinks. and we waited for about 20 min after we were done eating to get our check. This is unusual for them, like I said, so if it wasn't for that id give a "very good" on service.

When your own mom makes bomb food, that becomes the baseline of comparison. Never before have I had Flan that came close, yet I kid you not this is the best flan I've ever purchased from a restaurant. The flour tortillas were amazing and unlike the flimsy thin kind everywhere else has. You can tell this food is carefully handmade. Just outstanding. Give it a try.
The most BLAND Mexican food I have EVER had. I was so disappointed. This restaurant was recommended by a friend, I really can not see why. I ordered a cheese enchilada and a chicken enchilada. There was almost no flavor. Understand I do not love spicy food, but I want my food to have flavor. The tomatoes in my salad had more flavor than the enchilada sauce, in fact Campbell's tomato soup has more flavor. I will not be returning.
Good service, food was good too, but I have had better Mexican nontheless I cleaned my plate. I think I ordered wrong, I got the Chicken Burrito with everything inside it... perhaps too complicated and I wanted simple. Kids were happy and so was the wife.

Delicious food, recommend their enchiladas and chili Verde. They have a memorial of an incredible war hero who I hear use to come in all the time before he passed. Love to see how they support their locals and fill everyone's bellies with delicious food.

to add to our experience here our server was around long enough to only give us glasses of water then never to be found again. We also were only 1 of two tables in the whole place. Also very dirty.. Looked like their high chairs and boosters had never been cleaned.
This snug little restaurant is always busy when I visit, and with good reason - the food is excellent and the service is friendly. Mexican food this good is all too rare in Salt Lake City.

Chubby's has been a life time favorite of mine and my family. So why the one star? Well, in the past year they've messed up more of my orders than I've bothered to count. No, I actually mean that. It's probably 7-10 times, is my guess.
Was I ordering some absurdly complicated order? No, I order the same thing literally every time. Two smothered burritos, no cheese. Guess what it has almost every time? Cheese. It's not hard, but it's a simple mistake so I just forgave it over and over.
Tonight, I made my same order again. And guess, what? It was wrong, again. I don't even know why I've bothered for so long. Maybe I'm a dramatic twerp, you think. However, I can't eat cheese, so it does spoil the meal.
The reviews for Chubby's are great, as you can see. But I cannot rightfully recommend it when I've been scorned so many times in a year. Unfortunately, and quite sadly, I'm probably never going back to Chubby's again.
