Not even worth one star. This is the worst Mexican food I have ever had. Whoever gave this place a good review was either paid to do so, or has no idea of what authentic Mexican food tastes like.

Mexican food at this spot - very tasty. food with real quality ingredients. the staff was very welcoming and sociable. they have so many good reviews for a reason.
Warm, inviting, and cozy. Everything is great including the dining area, friendly staff, and amazing food. Finishing your plate (and maybe a second after that) is not a chore here! Highly recommend.
The same good food that they have been making over 15+ years. The services is aways good fast and friendly. If you are in need of a Mexican dish this is where I would recommend you go.
best chilli verde in town
smother a burrito with cheese
you will never frown
Fine location for mexican food. dropped in on tues.
Great American Mexican food. Reasonably priced. Their chilly Verde was missing something.
Waited and had to ask the lady to take are order . and now i know why i dont go there . la lunas in west jordan is better
Chubby's is one of my local favorites. If I'm in the area and feel like Mexican this is one of my 2 go tos.
The chips and salsa is average but everything else that I've tried is great. All of their meats are full of flavor and very tender. Today I went with a smothered shreded beef burrito. It was exellent.
Cubby's its awesome great food always do fresh. As good as grandmas!
This is a place I have been going to since I was a kid they have great food and service that keeps me coming back time after time Ihave not had bad treatment ever I would recommend it to anyone as much as I possibly can this place is awesome and you should give it a try
Great little Mexican restaurant. Really good food, friendly staff and nice atmosphere.
This place is superb and roomy, the meals was delicious and the rates were very fair. fast, efficient service and very amiable staff members. I highly recommend this place.
Great homestyle Mexican food for cheap, good portions too.
Everytime we go there the service is great and the food is amazing!!! It's become a weekly adventure for us!!
Nothing was really bad, but it wasn't amazing either. It was simply OK. Meals are in the $7-$12 range, service was good, restaurant was clean. I just don't know if I would make it a point to go back.
Small place. Not for large groups. Food is good. Priced well.
Always great food. Been coming here for most of my life and still love it.
Love the food, my favorite Navajo taco.
The only thing that does not have large tables We are a big family Pero .. But everything else good!
One of my favorite locations for quality mexican food. The service here is great. It has a nice feel to it. Food and atmosphere reminds me of Kansas City.
Ordered the smothered burritos with the shredded beef and the wife had the chimichanga and it was one of the best Mexican restaurants i've been to in years and it was very clean and the waitress was very nice we will definitely be going back there soon
My bf loves this place. It's pretty good just not my fave.
Wonderful time for the two of us on a evening out during the holiday season. Great Mexican food. Service was always friendly and welcoming. Thanks again for the wonderful time a refreshing food. I had a enchilada with chicken plate highly recommended.
Great food at a reasonable price. Very friendly staff and did I mention, great food.
One of my top spots for delicious Mexican food. I'll return with my friends. The place has an awesome atmosphere.
Absolutely love this place. I've been coming here for many years. Never had a bad experience
I love it here. The food is always great and the staff even remembered my favorite order and I hadn't even been there for a month.
Get the #5 combo...best tamale in your life. Good service.
Not Mexican food. Bland, filling, but unsatisfying.
My favorite Mexican restaurant in Salt Lake.
The location used to be a place called La Sierra, which I remember from being a kid. I was very sad when La Sierra left, but Chubby's fills the hole nicely. Friendly staff, good food (especially the orange rice, muy excellente) and never a long wait.
I've been going here regularly since I was 12, and it is still just as good as it was then.
I had always heard about Chubby's, but hadn't yet gone. It was a warm & inviting atmosphere & we had a lovely lunch there! Can't wait to go again!
Chili verde & Dos Equis. What's not to like? Inexpensive neighborhood Mexican grub. A much better deal than some other better known spots.
Got the chicken enchiladas. Awesome choice! Love the salsa and chips too!
Great atmosphere. Love Chubby Changas and homemade tacos, they are the best. Prices are the best ever.
Its decent Mexican food. I always get the smothered burrito combo. I ended up buying 2 fried ice creams and those were pretty good.
Tacos, Tostadas, Horchatas are mind blowingly good. Meals with Chile Verde are also a solid choice.
My fav place for mexican food. Had a sister come into town and asked me to take her here again. Prices are appropriate. I can see why they have a lot of great reviews.
Love the enchilada sauce but beef in tacos, etc is hamburger.
The food is delicious, the service is great, the atmosphere is amazing. I would definitely recommend Chubbies to anyone who wants a good, authentic Mexican meal. Location is sub-par, but this is definitely a hole-in-the-wall you don't want to miss!
Great food and the to go order was available very close to the promised time.
Chubbys is a great Mexican restaurant. Delicious food. Fast and proper service.
The food is consistently good, prepared the same every time.
I love the rice and beans. There's so many options it's hard to decide on just one.
Such good food. Worth the drive from anywhere in the valley to get food
Waitress was the most un friendly , and seemed bugged when asked for anything. Food wasn't even that great. Won't go back again and wouldn't recommend.
Something about my taco tasted off. Ended up terribly sick. I've been there a bunch before and it's been great. Just a bad visit I guess.
Chubby's is very popular among my co-workers, but I don't know why.
Cons: Packed at lunch time (I had to sit at a half-bench squished against the door), indifferent service, bland, cold food (the cheese on and in everything wasn't melted)
Pros: Cheap
I've been going to Chubbies for over 20 years and it just keeps getting better with age. The waitresses are second to none too. I love this place!
Our favorite Mexican restaurant in Utah (and we live in St George).
Great food. Huge portions but very reasonably priced. Took some time getting it to the table but it was all hot and made fresh. Really great enchiladas.
Never any complaints about Chubby's. Service is always great and food always delicious.
I love Chubby's. The food is really good, the guacamole is wonderful, and the flan is to die for. I usually get chili rellenos, and I love the fresh vegetables they add as a garnish.
Great little out of the way Mexican restuarant, good food at very reasonable cost and wonderful service, been going there for twenty years
The service here is great, the food is decent, and I love the atmosphere. The decor is nice and, you feel like you are at home [In Mexico that is ;) ] I would definitely recommend this place!
Decent Mexican food, get there early if you're going for lunch.
A neighborhood favorite! Limited seating but good food.
Good home cooked Mexican food. Will not go away hungry.
Consistently good basic inexpensive Mexican food. For me after dozens of visits the food has always been hot and well prepared. Lucy, Lisa, and the rest of the staff are wonderful!
Best authentic Mexican in Rose Park. I want a Chubby Changa today!
Love the smother burrito rice and beans....really good place to eat
Standard Utah smothered burrito BS with Salsa out of a plastic bottle, and stale chips off of a Sysco truck. Is this really what people think Mexican Cuisine is?? I'm reading the other reviews of this place and I'm wondering if these other people are eating at the same place I am. I guess if you melt some yellow cheese over some tomato sauce and wrap it in a tortilla that serves as Mexican food in Salt Lake. I don't know what this is, but I've been to Mexico enough to know that this is anything but authentic.
They were really busy, but still had plenty of time to be personal, and friendly. Even the busboy who was cleaning the tables was on top of things and had a smile. Thank you for the great service.
