We had to stay here under government quarantine for 2 weeks. The staff were professional, abided by the COVID-19 guidelines and were super friendly and kind. That goes for the Territory Families and the security guards outside our room too. The Territory Families organised a movement therapist to help us move our joints after being stuck in a room for 23.5hours of the day. Very thoughtful. The food was delicious with tons of vegan options. It made our quarantine very palatable. My only criticism is the Wifi that kept dropping out and I had to buy quite a lot of mobile data to enable us to continue work. Thank you to all the staff who made the 2 weeks relaxing rather than stressful

Overall a good experience a little tired in places but a credit card authorization was taken out and not explained to me upon arrival so I had to waste my time/expense chasing up this matter to find out the reason. All quite unnecessary and the reversal can take 7-10 days. This spoilt the stay

Decided to opt for the 2 course meal deal for dinner, which was $50 for garlic bread, one main and one desert, as well as a glass of white or red wine. The food itself was good, but the service was beyond sluggish. While our waiter was quite kind, this review may have been closer to 5 stars if it didn't take 1 hour for him to bring my wine over - which he brought red when I ordered white. He was very kind about it and brought me a glass of white immediately. Both our meals came out shortly thereafter, at which point we hadn't yet recieved the garlic bread. I raised the issue with the waiter and he immediately brought the garlic bread out (with an extra piece as an apology). The garlic bread was delicious, but only because it was absolutely drenched in butter (not complaining). We left feeling overly underwhelmed and dissapointed with the experience.

I returned the following morning for the $25 breakfast buffet, which was actually quite nice. Some good options with an omelette bar, various sausages, fruit, pancakes, bacon, pastries, toast, cereal, etc. I would recommend the breakfast buffet over the dinner. I went back for 5 plates (perhaps to compensate for my experience the precious day). Regardless, it was good enough to go back for secondary servings.

Overall this restaurant is a 2/5 for dinner table service, 4/5 for dinner quality/value, and a 5/5 for breakfast quality/value.

Quiet, relaxing resort in Alice Springs. Close to the town centre area where all the shops and restaurants are located. Restaurant on the resort was very good. I enjoyed eating there. All in all it was a nice 2 day getaway at the Mercure.

A good hotel to be in but the pool area under construction meant we didn't have that facility and little space to enjoy the outdoor area. There's room for improvement with management in the dining area.

Good friendly service

Good friendly service
Lovely Spacious suites
Quiet, peaceful premises
Watch out for the territorial bird swooping & attacking everyone that walks by lol

Hotels like this are honey
It's a 10-15 minute walk to Woolworth Coles.
The air-conditioning is comfortable, the room is clean, and all other facilities are neat
Most of all, it seems that the soundproofing facilities are the best among the hotels I have stayed. Even on the first floor of the view, you can see the courtyard from the room.

Stayed last night and all seemed great until I discovered that the water was not hot enough and I had a slightly luke warm shower this morning certainly could not have had a bath. It was check out time so we informed Arun who offered no apologies but explained that if we had reported it earlier it may have been able to be fixed somewhat suggesting it was our fault. It is very cold at the moment suggest you stay somewhere with hot water.

Poor experience.

Poor experience.
Nice pool area and bar.

Airconditioning in room was faulty and was subsequently downgraded to a room with a "more reliable airconditioning" unable to receive a refund on room price differences at the time of change as the reception staff could not contact the manager, subsequently lost bath and balcony access as the air-conditioning affects all Delux rooms.

Room service was not cooked as advertised and the in restaurant menu was a bit lacking as it is a "seafood restaurant"

Unfortunately would not recommend and will not be staying the planned extra nights.

A local, I occasionally visit the Barra on Todd Restaurant at Chifleys as I did last night. The ambience is always pleasant and the pork chop with mango I ate was cooked to perfection, very tasty and good value for money. There were eight of us at our table and all said they had enjoyed their meal. A bonus for seniors/pensioners is that Chifleys provides a generous discount which is greatly appreciated.

If you visit Alice Springs, I highly recommend Barra on Todd.

Stayed one night - new year's eve. Staff were friendly and the pool was very nice. Didn't try the restaurant. The room was nice, although the air conditioning could have been more effective.

No hot water for 24 hours.

No hot water for 24 hours.
No solution offered by hotel except to shower in a room yet to be cleaned after other guests have checked out.
Washing machines out of order, forced to use staff laundry , then our washing was locked in and couldn t be retrieved!!
Very poor to have these basic things go wrong

I was staying at the youth hostel next door for one night but got locked out of the building at 8pm. Chifley hotel was a life saver. They had a room available for me to stay in, were really accomodating at the last minute, and even lent me a phone charger. I'm so grateful! Thank you to everyone at Chifley Hotel, I will definitely be coming back here (not just for the breakfast and comfortable rooms, but also for the welcoming atmosphere!)

Brutal resort! The best of the whole desert (between Ayers Rocks and Alice Springs).
Brutal wifi, large rooms and comfortable beds.
Expensive but very correct restaurant (delicious fish and meat).
Very good breakfast for $ 20 buffet.
Small but good pool. Yay!

Definitely a great place close to town. Include the buffet breakfastfrom 6 till 10 and it works in well with all the tours to the Mc Donnell ranges that leave at u and or 8am .
Very courteous sociable staff and rooms were excellent.

Affordable place with sufficient amenities for the region. A short walk to the town's center in Alice Springs makes this a great option for people interested in taking in the sites. Not much to do in the area otherwise, but this place is not to blame for that!

Good value for just over AUD 100 per night. There was a chauffeur picking up the resort guests from the Ghan train station even though the hotel is just 20 minutes walk away. Front counter staff were friendly and efficient. The room is really spacious with floor-to-ceiling window and all the facilities you'd expect to find in a decent hotel. There wasn't a bathtub in mine, but I was happy with the shower. Haven't tried the food at Barra on Todd but it seemed lovely to dine by the pool area. Guests are also given a voucher to get discounted breakfast from the restaurant, which I think should have been included with the room fee. I also like the location, separate from the town centre by a short bridge (expect no water in the river though). Will definitely consider staying there when I visit Alice again.

Whom did i like? The waitress at the concergie - she was friendly. I like my King size room too - spacious. However the main meal, at $36, was small. In Melbourne that would be a big meal + dessert. Lol

I celebrated my birthday with family and friends at the Barra on Todd restaurant at the Mercure. The food was absolutely delicious. The wait for the food was ridiculous but all was forgiven with the first mouthful.

Location and pool are great. Rooms are clean and cool. However staff are quite unhelpful (consistently) over the course of my stay. I was constantly sent from reception to the restaurant to reception several times in a contstant vortex of staff not wanting to keep and handballing me off. Staff are very lazy here, and not interested in any form of customer service. Even getting coins for the laundry was a lesson in patience for us! Maybe hire some people with at least some customer service skills.
