We came to this place for dinner. my friend recommended this place. Well, it was a winning. The staff members welcomed us with a smile and we had a fantastic feeling. The food was just great. We had a great time and we shall definitely come back again. we highly recommend this place.

The service was great, but slow. The TWO chicken strips I ordered took at LEAST 20 mins, and the chicken wasn't even very good. The only two good things here (that I experienced at least,) were the nice and patient waiters, and the fries. . Don't not come here because of what I said, the burgers looked pretty good, but don't order the kids chicken strips. 2 stars.

Delicious food, sprawling back patio/yard, complete bar. I've gone for drinks, dinner and their epic Sunday brunch. It's got the Irish pub feel down pat until you got the bathroom which feels like it's from a spaceship. Also the police theme is problematic, maybe they'll switch it up someday?

This is the classic epitome of Irish pub. From the wood bar to the music to the old guy playing a fiddle or pipes in the back room. Plenty of beers on tap and a good selection of whiskey. They also have brunch and food, which is a plus if you're in the neighborhood. Haven't had a bad experience here yet. A couple of co-workers and I make a ritual of getting burgers at Kuma's a few blocks away and then close out the night with some black and tans or two fingers of scotch. We just look at each other and raise an eyebrow and say "Chief?" and the night rolls on.

My favorite Irish Pub in Chicago. The patio is huge! Guinness taste like a Guinness should taste, the food is really good too. I particularly like the lamb burger and the lentils salad.

I recommended this place to my daughter and grandchildren because I remembered from when I lived in Chicago that it not only had good food and drink but also a wonderful large outdoor space where kids could run around while the adults sat and ate at the tables. That seems to have changed. The manager, or someone apparently in charge, chastized my 10-year-old granddaughter loudly and rudely for running around and suggested if she wanted to play she should go to the park across the street. She is s very shy child and not at all troublesome, but she was very embarrassed and my daughter said she just stood there while her face turned red. The manager made no attempt to approach her mother either, just the very surprised 10-year-old. We live in Spain, where almost all restaurants are family friendly, especially in the outdoor seating areas. In their month long trip across America, this was their only bad experience. So...if you want to eat out with your kids, don't go to Chief O'Neill's..

I've only been here for brunch, but I love it. Everyone I take enjoys the buffet. Kids definitely love fixing their own plates. The also offer bottomless bloody Mary's and mimosas for the adults. This is my go to for Sunday brunch...a real old school brunch.

I was kinda disappointed. The food was dry, even more so than you would expect when something has been under/over heat lamps for a while. And over $3 for a coffee????? You're already charging a decent amount for brunch, you'd think coffee would just be part of that. But my biggest qualm was I felt like they were rushing us to leave from the moment we got there. I mean you pay for food or service (or in good restaurants, both) and here I felt that both were lacking.

My first visit was in winter and was ok. It s a really cool bar. My husband loved it. Imagine my surprise when I googled best patios with kids -Chief O Neills was on the list. Walk to the back of the bar past a private room onto a beautiful grass lined patio. Beautiful flowers, string lighting, candles - and really great food! It was a perfect evening. I must also mention our delightful server. Drink orders were quick. They thoughtfully brought our two 5 yr olds food out first. And the adults food quickly followed. We were one of two large groups of 6-8. There were other tables of families and couples. We arrived early just before the dinner rush. When we left, every table was filled. What a delight!

We had a beautiful socially distant wedding at Chief O'Neill's! Everyone raved about the food and the service. Their backyard patio was the setting of my dreams. Thanks for making this a COVID wedding success!

Excellent! Great variety of very good food. Dining alfresco on a beautiful summer day with a Bloody Mary, a mimosa and a generous pour of a crisp white wine....life is good! French toast, fish/chips, fried shrimp, bread pudding, the corn beef (of course) and ham station along with the strawberries dipped in the white chocolate fountain were the highlights. The waitstaff, which included Irish summer 'interns' were so friendly, as was hostess/ manager who came by the table twice to check on us and chat. All outstanding.

The pub you've been practicing for. This place is great down to every detail. The wood work was brought in from Ireland, classic irish decor, live music, huge beer garden, plenty of seating, good beer, great whiskey, great food.

My friend just moved in the area and was raving about CO. So we went in on a Friday night. Was pretty empty for a Friday which was pleasant but also not. I guess I like it more when people are in the restaurant. We sat at a booth and our waitress was super nice. She came took our drink order and food order.

The food was good, nothing over the top but nothing I would complain about. Price wise was OK. Typical middle priced restaurant. I recommend this place but I also recommend what I got. Really filled me up!

Chief's holds a special place in my heart as my local watering hole for the past four years or so. The staff is so nice and seem to really enjoy working here. The food is always great (except for a short spell when it wasn't, but they've remedied that) and they have a fully stocked bar with specials all the time. Plus, the massive beer garden is hands-down one of the best in the city (Country? World?). Dog- and kid-friendly, live music and other events, AND a stellar weekend brunch that will put you right into a cozy food coma.

Nice.

The food was great but my order (fish and chips) took a long time to come. Everyone else was served before me. We were a large group and getting our drinks took a long time too. On the plus side the waiters moved the tables around for us and also raised the heat when I said it was chilly. They offer private rooms if you're having an event. Street parking is good.

I decided to try this place after work one evening, and enjoyed it enough to go back a second time a few days later. The lamb stew is off the charts. I also enjoyed the corned beef and cabbage but the lamb stew is the nuts. They have live music often, possibly even every day. I was a little concerned the first time I visited when I was told there would be live music. Usually that means something a little loud for my taste. This, however, was very pleasant. When I paid my tab I was shocked to see 10-12 people in a circle not 25 feet from where I was sitting, playing violas (I think). I figured with that many people playing all other sound would have been drowned out but it was perfect. They seem to have a decent whiskey selection although I didn't order any so I can't comment on that yet. This place is close to work and home so I'll definitely be back.
