Great food, amazing service. Yes, it does take a while to get your food on a busy night but it is so worth the wait. Just relax, enjoy your drink and appetizer, and the food will be there soon.

Fun atmosphere, excellent food tastes and quality. Would go there tonight if I could.
Unfortunately the landmark building/Cheel burned down, can't wait for the Cheel to rebuild! Got a taste for boar!

Really amazing. Stumbled upon this restaurant while in the area for work. Our server Cindy was fantastic. The food did take a little while to come out, but the appetizers were fast and it gave us an opportunity to enjoy the tasteful live music and atmosphere. A welcome introduction to Nepalese food with traditional ingredients and more adventurous ones but all cooked perfectly. The flavors in every dish were out of this world. Very worth a stop in.

I cannot share enough how amazing this place is! I ve been eating and drinking here for years. It s such a fun special place that every time I m in town I eat here With my family! We decided to have our wedding rehearsal dinner here and it was perfect. The owners worked with us to create our own space with GORGEOUS decorations matching you wedding colors. Since during COVId they were very sensitive to spacing. We worked easily with Them to put together a phenomenal menu with cocktails. The dinner went seamlessly. Their staff were extremely
Professional and friendly. No one went thirsty or hungry. They also had great live music for us to enjoy. Some of my fav items there are their old fashioneds, bourbon, momos, duck endive boats and salmon w glass noodles. Consider this place for a yummy lunch or evening out or for your own private party!!!

I make eye contact with the guy that turns out to be my waiter and after 20 minutes are more he finally comes over and seems to be unsure why I am sitting there. I am confused why it took so long and I ask. He says he thought I was waiting for some one. So why not at least make contact and take a drink order? I order and 30 minutes later he delivers the stuff HE recommended and not the item I asked for. He offers to fix it but I am too ticked off to enjoy a small but expensive serving size of any thing. I leave hungry.

I am new to the Mequon- Thiensville area found this location on social media. I must say Great food Nepalese cuisine. Very flavorful and savory dishes that will not disappoint your palette. Wednesday and Saturday evenings are filled with talented musicians and singers. A definite hidden Gem in Thiensville. Strongly recommend it.

We go here because they have high quality gluten free options, even the friday fish fry is gluten free. The food is excellent, service is perfect, and the bartenders really know how to make drinks. Service is excellent, very professional. One more thing, you cant go wrong no matter what you order; it is all unique food, done perfectly, very tasty. I always go there when I visit wisconsin. I live in LA, if this restaurant was in LA, it would be packed every day.

Came to The Cheel on the 29th for dinner. Excellent outdoor setup for dining with a great band playing in the background.

We had 4 in our party, all dishes were well presented and telling by everyones silence food was delicious. Combo of a chicken sandwich, ribs, smoked chicken thighs, and the wild boar special. I personally had the wild boar that was on special that night. Cool presentation, all the sides were excellent, especially the sauces! Only disappointment was the boar itself. The boar was definitely plated early as it was cool and somewhat dry when i got it, the bread/tortilla it was served with was also rather soggy from sitting. For $35 the deliciousness/value/wow factor was a little lacking on that one item, especially for a weekend night special.

End of the day, definitely will be back. The menu is very intriguing and I look forward to trying more.

It's so refreshing to have authentic, unique well made cuisine. Smaller portions than boyfriend would prefer but plenty of left overs for me to share with him. Location has a cozy atmosphere.

I've been here multiple times and have always loved it. The food is extremely delicious. I have gotten a different dish each time I go and have yet to dislike something. This past time we had the wild boar jerky appetizer and it was drool worthy. Honestly, the cheel is probably one of my favorite restaurants I have ever been to and, considering I have been to many a restaurant even around the globe, that is saying something.

Oh my.........what a wonderful experience! My wife and i chose this place for two reasons. 1......it was our 30 year anniversary and I wanted to go somewhere unique. After speaking with the woman while making our reservation, she indicated that the food was made from family recipes and they were from the Himalayas. 2.........Never had Himalayan food. Whereas the service was a little slow the expierence was very memorable for my wife and I. A must go to. (Thank you for the small gift you gave my wife! BONUS!)

Really nice diverse menu, I must have chosen wrong with the $59 truffle filet which was overpowered with truffle and a decent but not amazing steak. Service was OK, atmosphere fine. I know a lot of people like this pace, and it s good, but I m not sure it merits a 5 star...

We waited approximately 15minutes to place our drink order only to have the drinks arrive sporadically for the next 1/2hr. 2 couples that had arrived after our group had received their appetizers before we ever placed our order. The lamb bites were flavorful as well as was the duck and endive. The appetizer flavors were truely unique and we'll thought out. The boar was so dry and over seasoned with cinnamon, nobody at our table of 8 could stand a 2nd bite. The lamb momo's were rare, but the flavor was good. It took over a half an hour to get our checks once we asked for them as our waiter felt that whomever was texting him on his phone was more important, perhaps it was someone from the night before he had met when he was out til bar close the as he had explained to us previously for being the reason he was hung over, the owners only offer to correct the boar was to offer a gift certificate to return again. I won't be back. 3 hrs for lunch is ridiculous, causing several of us to arrive late for afternoon appointments and obligations. The last drink was finally served... along with the bill. Real classy!

This restaurant is a great example of original fusion dishes/cooking. Nepalese+American combination was made to perfection. The spices, flavours, colors of the food are beautiful. Presentation of food is also very well done. I can't forget the Dal Bhat dish from my head even after 3 years since I tried it. Definitely worth the extra drive to little North Milwaukee if you really want to try something new.

I had never had Nepalese food until I tried The Cheel, and it was fantastic. Great atmosphere and bar, and the food quality was excellent. I had the bandel roganjosh, it was tender and flavorful. The aachar (dipping sauces) are made at the restaurant and very tasty.

The whole environment is great; owner and staffs are super friendly, food is absurdly delicious, place is clean and lively. I had heard a lot about this restaurant and had a really high expectations. But the food and the homey service surpassed my expectations by far.
Thank you Cheel. May you soar to greater heights!

First Fish Fry I have had in 15 years! I am a celiac, and they have a gluten free fish fry. I was in heaven. The food is of the highest quality. It was the most expensive menu I have seen. But you get what pay for. I will save my money up and eat there 2x a year, and at home the rest the time!

Finally a real restaurant in Ozaukee County. Don't get me wrong there are others that have real good food. However there is no other anywhere close to this type of food.

We tried 4 things on our first visit and all were something I could not cook myself and were bursting with flavors.

The people are very friendly and a great vibe. So happy this is close to me and I don't have to drive to Milwaukee to get food of this quality.

My husband and I went there for dinner on a busy Friday night. Though we got a table in about 10 minutes, the waiting area was pretty cramped and the waitresses were cramped for space and struggling to get the food out. Even we were uncomfortable standing next to the door and very close to another table. I wish they had a small waiting area..
Now to the positives. The food was amazing!! Very good vegetarian options.. We had baked veggie momos, besan gyaw, cheeli, and rajma burger+aalo fries. We loved the food! It was our first time trying Nepalese cuisine. It was very interesting to see how similiar, yet different it was to Indian food.
A must try place and definitely worth the drive. I would love to visit The Cheel again.

The atmosphere was great. I wish we had gone earlier in the year. They have a great outdoor space. The food was fantastic. They have small items you can share with the table or even share a full dish. Plenty to eat in a serving. The bar also had great offerings.
We highly recommend cheel.

Amazing experience, I have Celiac disease and egg/dairy allergies and they were able to accommodate me with ease which is always such a relief. Food is so flavorful and well worth the wait on a weekend!

What can I say about "The Cheel"...The best place in Mequon when you combine food, service and energy. The food is unique, and always fresh. The drinks are spot on, and the beers rotate, so you never seem to get bored with the drink menu.

The knowledge behind the food and beverage can't be matched in the Ozaukee County area. The only negative I see is they aren't open Saturday afternoons, nor Sunday all day. I would like to see them open on those days as it would be good for everyone involved and selfishly, we as customers would benefit with more days to get in there and try something different. One last thing, the owner's are amazing people!

Work took us here after an event. Thanks MEC! The appetizers were fantastic and the lamb truly fell off the bone as advertised by the waitress. The filet was wonderful even if I only had a taste. A bit pricey, but would happily go back. One nit-pick, the "sweet and sour sauce" was not what I hopes for, but the creamy, hot sauce (whatever that was called) was amazing.

The food isn t typical nepali as it promised. 5 piece of tiny mo mo was $13. The thali ( rice dal chicken and veg) was expensive at $29. One of the server, old lady will push you to buy more than what you want. If you really want to eat Nepalese food go to Chicago. I won t be visiting this place again.

One of the BEST Hot wings I have had so far. Visited there couple of times and I loved their food. It was a time when I was away from home and craving for spice rich meal, Thali was the go to dish for me then. it was a nostalgic taste coming true.

Have been going here for 3 years & can't say anything negative about this place. They have adapted & overcome during a pandemic, all the while the food & service has stayed top notch. Much respect & admiration for the owners & staff at The Cheel!

This place is fabulous! Some of the most creative and tasty dishes you'll find in the Midwest. The mix of Nepalese and Himalayan cuisine is truly a unique treat, all inspired by Nepal native Chef Barkha, who is an inspired entrepreneur. You have to try it!

It is rare to find what could be considered a perfect meal. In the first visit to The Cheel we found perfection. This is the first review I've done where I wish I could rate higher than the 5 stars. The spices in every dish and sauce were perfect. Evan provided us with great menu knowledge and service. I cannot wait to come back and go through other items on the extensive and unique menu. This is a place that would be worth making it a destation. I'll let the photos finish this review instead of a thousand words of praise.

Amazing use of complex flavors. I had the lamb Momo (dumplings), deep fried chicken pea fingers (a lot like mozz sticks) with a beautiful creamy center. Could've eaten the dipping sauces by themselves. The cheesecake with saffron & orange infusion is in the top ten best desserts I've EVER had. The server was extremely knowledgeable, which I appreciated a lot.

First visit 5 years ago- second visit last week. This place still lives up to the culinarily diverse experience we had when it first opened. We went for lunch, there was no wait, the chef/owner was on site and available to share her stories and answer all of our questions. We had 2 apps (the goat Momo and the duck Samoas) - delicious! We had the sandwich and soup combos which was the perfect amount of food. They feature live music throughout the week. Fun date night adventure/ or if you're looking for something different to eat. 10/10.

The Cheel mixes a great selection of craft beers with amazing food. The dishes hold a perfect balance of spices- each one used only to compliment the food around it, not mask/overpower it. My favorite dish so far are the camel burger sliders that are served on Wednesday along with live music.
