I have always had a great experience shopping at Checkers. Their produce section is the freshest and best variety in town. They also have incredible deals. Their staff is friendly, courteous and extremely helpful. Wes, in particular, knows my preferences and always directs me to the best produce and deals and has even given me samples of products to try. What great customer service!! I have had nothing but positive things to s ay about this place. (Plus, they play great music....which makes me want to sing and dance in the aisles!!!)

One of the largest and cheapest grocery stores around. They basically have everything you need and many things are always on sale. Oh, and it's open 24 hours.

Great variety of food for humans of which I am one. They have a good selection of human food from varying traditions. They do not make the checker beings pack your plastic sacks which is great because I can fill my plastic sack however I wish giving the freedom of choice.

I don't have many complaints. Their seasonal plants are nice. I love their Irish Soda bread. If they stop selling it, this stars on this review will probably go down. Excellent tortilla selection.

It's a locally owned discount grocery store. Good selection, reasonably organized. Even a decent organic and natural foods section. Love the bakery - used to make awesomely decorated cupcakes.

The people are great.

Very friendly. I couldn't find something and the employee i asked for assistance from admitted to being new and took me to another employee and asked for me where item was and took me straight to it. Then i was about $2.50. Short and the checker held my things while i ran to get more money but not before another employee offered to pay the difference for me. All this and they honor price match. Just an all around pleasant shopping experience.

Good price and quality meat. They used to seem to try to change their inventory to match their market base but recently they have ignored my requests, so I'm not as impressed as I once was.

Good prices and staff, but this store has so much local stuff that they are missing a lot of other items.

Got once in the while a good sale, but otherwise prices are higher on soda and frozen entry then hyvee or dillons.

Best produce department this side of a European open market. Great organic and vegetarian selections, friendly, very professional staff, good prices, and they have Chobani passion fruit yoghurt! (Prolly shoulda kept that to myself, as I usually buy their entire stock unless they're out, so shhhhh!) :)

Often have some good sales. We generally visit there from Topeka at least twice a month.

Great deals especially if you sign up for the card and use the digital coupons.

Not very busy. Appreciate they have someone wiping down carts as they are brought in.

Great place to shop for vegetables and fruits. It s organize and you can find anything you are looking for easily. Staffs are friendly.

Always a good experience. Good prices on food. Get some fried fish from Champs located in the back! Always have slabs of ribs too, one of my faves!

My experience was great. I found everything I needed the stock guys I made sure that I found the right items and the cashier was awesome and I thank you for wonderful experience

This was the first time I'd been in the checkers since I live more towards Kansas City. I find the store to be very pleasing but then I enjoy the warehouse style stores. If I lived in Lawrence I would definitely be shopping at checkers most of the time. The prices were definitely less expensive than some of their competition. I found the selection to be vast and had a lot of things the other stores do not have.

Checkers has the best prices and meat in the area. Occasionally selection suffers but overall my go to for grocerist

They have a variety of every thing.and the atmosphere is lovely I got steaks, chicken.and other things.and when I needed help I got service with a smile.

We were at Checkers tonight and had a cart-full of groceries. The lines were long and seemed to be moving slowly when we approached but we happened to get in a line with apparently the fastest checkout cashier in the midwest. His line was three times the length of the other two lanes but he was moving five times as fast. We were through the line in a matter of minutes. I wish I had caught the cashiers name, but was so impressed I forgot to look in the moment

Best produce section in town. Lots of ethnic choices. Dr. Pepper with real sugar!
Edit: Pepsi supplier issues have nixed the throwback DP, but this is still an amazing grocery store. Locally owned and operated since 1987.

Efficient, has just the things I need without fanciness!

Checkers often has good prices on select items. Their meat department is quite good and has really good specials. The Tuesday/ Thursday banana special is great. You do have to be careful and compare prices because some things cost more than at other stores. Also, this is a no frills store, so don't expect lots of choices.

Best grocery value in town. Great produce and regional ingredients.
