Love there International selection and great prices on produce

Checkers is my favorite place to shop. Fresh, local produce, great prices, and friendly staff are some of the reasons I come here first

Known for Thursday 'banana day' with 19 cents a pound bananas! Checkers has great prices on fresh produce and some of the best meat in town. They actually butcher themselves, so you can find amazing deals on super fresh high quality meat. They also carry some local grassfeed beef and pride themselves in local foods. They also have the best selection of international imported food. If you are looking for shelf foods and household goods you will probably find better selection and price elsewhere. But, if you mostly shop the outer aisles you will love this place.

FYI, the parking lot can seem shady late at night if you are a single lady. I recommend shopping earlier if you can. I have never had an incident, but felt uncomfortable and concerned for my safety more than once when visiting at 11pm or so.

Checkers is a no frills discount grocery store, I'm always amazed at how little I spend there, and still eat really good.

This is a place for you if you are looking for discounts on produce. For a discount store, very well maintained environment if you know what I mean..... only drawback is that this is not a place for people that desire organic products. I will still give this store a 5 star for having g alot of discounted prices and a good prepared food section with very friendly staff.

Fresh local organic produce at low prices, and so much choice! Checker's is basically the holy grail of grocery stores.

The prices of Walmart without the ethical dilemma of shopping at Walmart. It's the only place I go to for groceries!

Checkers in Lawrence is locally owned and has the best produce and meat department of any of the big grocery stores in town

best quality and deals on beef and pork the chicken is so so (usually frozen) by far the best produce in town they do a great job in finding locally grown vegetables

The best 24-hour grocery selection in town. My only problem with this place is how easy it is to just get completely lost and spend $300 on one massive cart of groceries.

The grocery store has a wide selection of food that I really like. They do not offer a lot of organic food or ethnic food which I find a little disappointing especially in the area that it's in, a college town. All in all it's a nice size grocery store with a lot of variety, the prices are reasonable and for a growing family it's definitely a plus.

They have good meat and veggies and good prices that fits your budget.

We especially love the produce and meat at Checkers. Produce is fresh and much of it is local when possible. The meat department is by far the best in town!

Always great quality, friendly folks, love the digital coupons and during this bizarre time there putting safety 1st.

I think my favorite thing about this place is, if they don't have what you're looking for, you can speak with a manager and they'll order it to keep your business

Grabbed a dozen Krispy Kreme donuts and 4 Rockstar energy drinks. In and out real quick.

This food is better than Wal-Mart. Many varieties. Of course, it is limited to food.

Cheaper on some things but horrible service. They expect you to bag your own groceries at the checkout.

I'm a huge fan of this store. Nice newer bulk food dispensers, great and diverse produce at some of the best prices. More selection than the Dillon's around, Great deals on food and seasonal items. They have a lot of very very cheap non grocery items albeit they are lower quality but will serve you well if on a lower budget. Butcher/meats section is huge! No real deli however. Lots of unique ethnic food items hard to find elsewhere. This 5 star is admittedly my own personal bias but anyone looking for normal groceries should give it a 4 at least.

The prices are even cheaper than Walmart. Veggies and other fresh foods are usually fully stacked up and their quality is quite good. They also have a variety of Asian stuffs, mostly Korean and Japanese. The exterior and interior of the building seems pretty old and many things needs to be repaired. Except that, I like this store so much!

Has many good deals every week, but store is messy and often has staple items more expensive than other places

Reminds me of a small Food 4 Less in SPFD, MO. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have any full chicken wings, I love the wingettes.

I shop regularly at Checkers in Lawrence, Ks. They have great deals everyday!! The produce is always fresh, the meat is always exceptional, and I always leave the store feeling like I definitely got a lot if groceries for the money spent.

I really love it there if you are a person that loves fruits and vegetables this is the place to get them, the fruits and vegetables are always fresh and clean

Hard to find help but when you do, they are helpful. Great variety and well-priced produce. Still has real meat dept with actual butchers. Great prices on all.

This store has a great selection of fresh produce. They have some of the best Gala apples and I've found pretty remarkable specials here on blueberries, raspberries and more. The prices and selection are great!

I love checkers! I always get my meet there. The other day we carpool there so the other day I was waiting for the girls and the sign said they had blackberries for a dollar something. And when I went in there at the end of the day to get some Tilex without bleach which they quit carrying. I was looking for the blackberries and it said 299. I told the guy I thought this was supposed to be a dollar something and he made good on a dollar something. Even though they had already changed the sign since the morning. I just been going there for a really really really long time always getting great deals. Free milk used to. Now I get some money off Sometimes using my card. I like that a lot

Ive seen behind the scenes. I know why they price things so low. Wouldnt give them a penny i found on the ground. Former customer and employee.
