Checkers is always a great place to shop for groceries in Lawrence. this time though I noticed there's a lot of Thai tiles especially by the bread there's not much place to move around I had my friend with me and my cart and I a friend has a guide dog and it was kind of hard to get around in there.

Very nice. I went almost all the grocery store in town for corn husk no one had them. I went to Checkers, they had corn husk. I was so relieved, because I was getting ticked off. They have good section on Hispanic food. In which was very nice to know so I don't have to drive to Topeka. I never been here be for, but now I know if I need some dry chillies Checkers has it. The associates were very friendly.

Have a various of vegetables and fruits. Good international food selection. Connected to local farmers and families. Good price and good food. They also have a lot of international food. Asian style snacks and frozen food.

Google rating doesn't make much sense for Checkers. The quality of their produce and the price of their food is great. The best I have seen so far in Lawrence. However, its not a pretty store (hence the low appeal score).
Always like shopping here on occasion. Has some good products that other stores do not carry. Prices vary from great to just okay. Store is always clean and well stocked.

Great locally owned grocery store, Checker's has a wonderful produce selecrion and a friendly staff. "All the best stuff is cheaper at Checker's" is actually a pretty accurate jingle for the store, as many items really cost substantially less than at other grocers.

Love love love Checkers! Huge selection of every type of grocery or household need. They have produce items you won't find anywhere else at Super prices. The department runs the depth of the store, cooler bins on either side packed with produce displays in-between also. Immense selection including organic. They offer wonderful locally made tofu & tempah. Not crazy about their deli meats, their only shortcoming for picky me. The bakery is great, the only place I've ever seen whole wheat Italian loaves. All of the workers are so friendly & helpful. Besides the immense selection and low prices here, one of my favorite things is that the owner, Jim, is such an amazing friend to the community. His generous spirit is legend. I live 2 hours away and always visit Checkers on my way homeward.
I love their meat and produce department for dairy I go to Aldi's the combination of both gives you the best deals and quality in town

I like Checkers because they sell fresh food at good prices and its at a convenient location for me.
The ises are maze like. Not a fan of the flow of the store. Everytime I'm there I get a slow cashier, can hardly count. Al else is good.

Prices are exceeding Walfart, which sorta sucks, but I refuse to purchase at walblart. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Top it off with everything I purchase, aside from seafood and fresh figs.

All of the lettuce I bought here starting turning brown the next day. I also bought tomatoes that turned squishy the next day.
It is kind of low-key, more a warehouse than a fancy store but the selection is great and the prices are usually pretty hard to beat.
