My husband loves Central Maine Pulmonary and Sleep! The staff is very friendly and his provider, Jerri Stone, is down to earth. She takes the time to listen to his concerns and answers any questions he has. David would recommend anyone with sleep issues to give their office a call.

I was brought to this facility by ambulance,1 1/2 away from home, I spent 8 days there, with 3 surgeries in 4 days,, My gallbladder was finally removed, after 2 drs. lied to me, my pancreatic was inflammed ,, in the 8 days I did not recieve my daily medications that I am on, when questioned, the nurses and dr.s walked out ignoring everything,, I did call my health provider was called by me to try to get me out of there and gall bladder surgery some where else, wow the dr didn't like that, and low and be hold surgery, My dr, is checking and all my records are being sent to him, I am going to outbudsman to check on my status,, The nurses were good, but sad they see what is happening, and a paycheck is better then speaking up for themselves or the patient,, If you want to wait and die go here,, the dr's are liars and we the patient is the cash cow

God bless the people at cmmc. The heart n vascular department is a smooth operating machine there ! They have save my life on 2 occasions. First with stent then 5 years later with tripple bypass surgery ! However my after care us somewhat sketchy .I completed cardiac rehab in rumford and they have an impressive program there and there staff is unbelievable!!! I finished that program in very good condition for the 2nd time ! I only have one complaint and it's not serious. I haven't been back for any kind of stress test and I believe I should have and I'm no Dr and have no claims to know more than them . I believe it's all the type of insurance I have . Sad to say but in my belief we get somewhat different care because of that. And 2nd my metoprolol prescription seems to need authorization to be refilled . And of course it runs out on weekend and I'm without it again ! My Pryor cardiologist had it so it didn't run out and the pharmacy called me every time it was do to pic up .I never had to worry about missing doses ! I had this Same issue 3 months ago and never noticed on the script it had the same must be authorized on it again . So this time I'm going to see if the Dr can remedy this for me .It's not like this us a narcotic. It's life saving drug for blood pressure should be available for all heart patients at any time !!! Just like nitroglycerin. If u lose it should be able to walk into pharmacy and get refill just by your history which they have at there finger tips right on computer. These are not drugs people are abusing !!! Just saying. And again I have no animosity towards the hospital in any way they are awesome...the medication thing needs tweeking....

My sister recently spent several days at CMMC. As a special needs individual she needs different types of attention than most patients. I commend the nurses on M1 for the care and attention they gave her before and after her surgery. The doctors were also very communicative which I deeply appreciated.

Got a call today October 19th at 3:19 PM to let me know my surgery time for October 20th was scheduled for 5:30AM (great , get in early and out early) then another call at 3:51 saying surgery needs to be canceled because pre authorization was needed. My initial appointment was September 16th. I would think that was plenty of time to get approval. Was told they didn t know pre authorization was needed. Really? Isn t it someone s job to know? You find out 12 hours before surgery????
Hope things go better for the surgery

Came to visit my grandma in the ER around 9pm on 12/9/19 and nobody responded to the call bell until at least 10 minutes. My grandma was complaining of pain and the tech who's name started with a K was very rude and told us pain wasnt an emergency and wouldn't let us speak to anybody. Thank god a nurse checked on us later and gave my grandma some medications but it was a whole hour after we asked for help. Not the best encounter. We were there a while.

Extremely poor care for someone who arrived in an ambulance while suffering from a heart attack. Making me wait a week for surgery while I'm having one heart attack after another. If I could leave I would but I'm being held here against my will. Now will come the auto.automated response blah blah blah Another high point is everyone on the night shift Is high on marijuana and the whole floor I'm on wreaks of pot smoke. That's pretty special let alone professional what a friggin joke

My sister was a patient in the ICU who unfortunately passed. Bethany was so amazing. She was so kind, actually wiped away tears but remained very professional. Explained everything while being very sweet and compassionate. She is a true asset to your hospital. A true nurse shows compassion and empathy while performing her job. Bethany is the kind of nurse I wish all those I love to have there for them

The absolute worst hospital I have ever spent time in. I have been in and out of here unable to breathe for 4 months. I have been impatient twice and no no more about what is going on then my first visit. I will go straight to southern Maine in a week when Central Maine Medical center band aid fix has worn off.

In my honest opinion might as well ask a clow At the circus to figure out what is going on with you.

The rn named Caleb is very disrespectful towards patients. My friend severely hurt her foot and was being very rude to her. While she's in pain asking him to stop for a moment he refused. And was yanking on her foot, as she's balling and freaking out in pain. Then she asks to speak to the doctor and rudely demands her that she needs to inform him. Overall very disappointed in this visit

When you get a call Friday reminding you of an 8:20AM Monday morning appointment, but when you show up and they tell you that you can't be seen because your appointment was at 8:00AM, NOT GOOD practice. I mean really, I didn't pull the 8:20 appointment out of a hat. It was a lot less chaotic when it was High Street Family. To further elaborate on the CMMC mishaps, I called the breast center to reschedule for today and was told I had already rescheduled for tomorrow, which I wouldn't do because I work on Tuesdays (and I just made the appointment last Friday). I know I have a common name, but I seriously doubt I have the same birthday as other patients.

If I could give them none I would. My 16 yr old son was injured while on vacation. Their arrogance and lack or knowledge almost cost my son his leg. They held him hostage for 9 days refusing to let him be transferred to another hospital providing virtually nothing for pain and infection, instead saying he was being difficult. I was verbally assaulted almost everyday I was there for questioning them. Threatened to have removed by the police for speaking for my minor son. By the time I was able to have him transferred to a Boston Hospital His infection threatened amputation of his leg. To add to their incompetency they also missed a Major concussion and broken arm (keep in mind they had 9 days to find this he had all the classic signs) Because of their lack of care my son spent an additional 31/2 months in the Hospital forced to endure 8 additional surgeries. Then to rehab for a month. All while constantly fighting infection so bad he required a pic line for 9 months. Even after his release for IV meds. And still will require more.
STAY AWAY!!!
You are better with a witch doctor and some bactine it's more than you'll get there.

The lack of communication in this hospital is abso...

The lack of communication in this hospital is absolutely maddening.

I brought my mom to the ED at 1400 on Saturday. She was triaged quickly and put into a treatment room. The nurse (Joe) working at that time checked on her several times, did two blood cultures, actually took care of her. The doctor saw her once, ordered a CT and then I didn t see him again. Joe was replaced by another nurse so he could grab a meal. She told mom to drink one bottle of contrast in thirty minutes and left the room. That s it. Mom did.

2.5 hours later CT was ready for her. By now Joe was back and said she had been supposed to drink 1.5 bottles of contrast, not just one. Too late.

After the scan mom returned to the treatment room and we waited more. At 2120 the doctor came in to tell us what the CT had potentially showed. He stayed a few minutes, then left and said, I ll be right back. He never came back.

Another 2.5 hours later (I m not making this up. I have time stamps on messages) at 2300, there was a flurry of activity during shift change. Three new doctors saw mom and told us she was going to be admitted. Ben became her nurse. Joe asked him to keep an eye on her iV to ensure it wasn t swelling in her hand. Admissions stopped by.

That s the last time we saw ANYONE. I ve been checking the swelling. Mom told me, I have a headache now from not sleeping). At 0115 Sunday morning - tired (I ve been up since 0330 Saturday) and frustrated, I went to the desk to ask for an update. She said she had to talk to mom s nurse but, probably there were no beds in the hospital.

I mentioned that Mom had had nothing to eat or drink since breakfast on Saturday. She brought a ginger ale.

Mom s had a single chucks diaper taped on since about 1700 last night. It s now 0200 and The nurse still HASN T still come in. Still I don t know if she s sleeping in this bed or going upstairs. Either answer would be fine but expecting SOME level of communication after multiple 2.5 hour blocks of seeing NO ONE does not seem unreasonable! Neither of us has been demanding at all. We knew this would be a long day but this is absolutely ridiculous.

This thank you is long overdue for the comfort and kindness that I was shown at Arbor House. The residence was my respite after the side-effects of radiation and chemotherapy. I was given a sunlit room, books, a beautiful library and a well appointed kitchen during my six weeks of treatment for cancer. Without Arbor House, I could not have maintained a positive attitude of hope that was free from depression.

Pauline cares for the house and adds to the sunshine that lights the kitchen. She is positive energy, humor and hope in one package. Her caring on my most difficult days was a bright spark of energy.

I also wish to thank Nicki who made arrangements for me to reside at Arbor House during my six weeks of weekday treatment. She contributes so much to this incredible program.

My gratitude goes out to each person who supports Arbor House. Lewiston and Auburn are not rich cities, but the generous and giving people of the area are some of the most altruistic individuals that I have ever met. They gave me a place to ease my pain and asked me for little in return. I was comforted by their outpouring of love and support which sustains me even now three month after my departure.

I have visited many hospitals in my past, professional career as a nurse-specialist. CMHC is by far one of the best for compassionate care, expertise, and an ample dose of love. Thank you all for creating such a glorious atmosphere of healing.

They can't even bother to make a phone call to tal...

They can't even bother to make a phone call to talk to us about billing. They were always having issues with taking our payments - computers not working etc...They even tried to make me pay a bill I had already paid and had a receipt for! Make sure you get your receipt cause they don't know what they're doing. No courtesy for hard working people doing the best they can to keep track of so many medical apptointments and bills.

We thought everything was paid off and then it turns out it isn't because they only applied payment to a few "encounter numbers" and not others
because we set up a payment plan with them. Ridiculous!!! Not too long ago we were told we were all paid off. Then I get a call from collections because apparently we were not paid off on "ALL" our "encounters." They explained rather rudely that they don't "combine encounters" when I called. With the inaccurate billing of paid appointments and confusion with what insurance paid - I am supposed to just know that I have some random bill that wasn't paid with all of the others when your office told me I was paid up! I should have just known that this time you were actually sending out a different bill not associated with our other bill that needed separate specific payment - and that even though we were sending you money - you wouldn't apply it to this bill because this encounter number was the one magical encounter that was separate from everything else. That's like going to the grocery store and being stopped by security for shoplifting carrots because you should have known that you had to make carrot payments since your carrots were not combined into your grocery bill - and you should have known that.

Apparently they can call to remind you of your appointment and tell you the wrong time - but they can't be bothered to call you back about messed up billing, or to help you sort out something. They have their priorities a little messed up!!

Every time my wife, father, and mother have gone t...

Every time my wife, father, and mother have gone there they have always been horrible. From nurses that can't even put an IV in correctly, to Dr's arguing with them about their condition. In one instance my wife had an xray and catscan done and they told her "your kidney are fine" two weeks later her doctor tells her "Well when you were at the hospital they found crystals on your kidney and you have this certain kidney disease...."

My father has a recurring extremely painful abdominal condition that Dr's have yet to figure out because they refuse to check him for anything else other than what they assumed it was the first time, and they were wrong. He went in last time with severe dehydration, and they even told him his kidneys were dry because he was so dehydrated, but they only gave him ONE IV bag and despite mentioning it to servers RN's that his bag had been dry for an hour and he was still dehydrated, they never gave him a second one and sent him home like that. It took him two days to get his hydration levels back to normal because he couldn't keep anything down and they knew that.

My mother is currently there because she just got two teeth pulled and the dentist that did it pretty much butchered her mouth in the process and she's having excessive bleeding and swelling, well above normal. She went to the ER last night because she was in excruciating pain, and they said it's not normal and ran a blood test and that was it. Shes back there today and she had to fight with them just to have one blood test done and they are trying to tell her it's her "allergies" that is causing it. Complete bs.

A few years ago I fell 25ft off a cliff and after an xray and mri they told me that my head was fine and I had no concussion. The next two weeks I was sick every time I got in a car and dizzy all the time, I went to my regulars Dr and he told me I had a SEVERE concussion and that my jaw was dislocated.

Over all. If you need urgent care, go anywhere else but here.

Wow, the convenience of a house call cannot be beat. Especially when the doc is very friendly, takes time to explain things, answers questions about a different health issue than the one I originally called for, and had one of the meds on hand. He was at my place in 2 hours, which is much faster than my regular doc could get me in. Time is money, so while this service isn't technically cheap, it is a great value when you factor in travel, waiting room time, etc. Highly recommend.

I have been to this Hospital more times then I can count on 10 fingers and toes. If you have to take a trip to the ER this is not a bad place, they are quite fast during check in at the ER, my visits could not have been better. There is a whole lot more to this Hospital then I can explain. They have some of the best Staff in the state, they have some of the best Dr's in the world. This Hospital is very professional. Come on in. Break a Leg.

My mother had one of the best ED doctors I have ever met at this hospital. Dr. Hadel listened to my concerns, answered all of my questions and he even ran a test at my request to rule something out. He is the most compassionate ED Dr. I have ever seen at this hospital. my mother also had surgery the same evening that she was brought in and her surgeon was Dr. Johnson; again, very compassionate, listened to my concerns, didn't disregard my fears and followed through with his promise to call me himself when she was out of surgery. I am very pleased with the care that my mom got and these Doctors were fantastic. Thanks to their thorough investigation into my mother's health issue, and their kindness, (which is rare these days) she is now on the road to recovery.

My minor son was injured while on vacation. The arrogance at Central Maine Medical Center and Dr. Michael Reagan is unequalled. The lack of knowledge and ability to listen almost cost my son his leg. They held my son hostage for 9 days refusing to let him be transferred to another hospital. They provided virtually nothing for pain and infection, instead saying he was being difficult. We were verbally assaulted almost every day, my son for not going along with the plan and myself for questioning them and insisting they move him to a Boston Hospital. I was threatened to be arrested and removed by the police for speaking for my minor son. For going above their head and calling other hospitals and my insurance company. By the time I was able to have him transferred to a Boston Hospital His infection threatened amputation of his leg. To add to their incompetency they also missed a Major concussion and broken arm (keep in mind they had 9 days to find this he had all the classic signs) Because of their lack of care my son spent an additional 2 1/2 months bouncing between Mass General and Spaulding rehab. He was forced to endure 8 horrific additional surgeries (approx. 2 per week) which required reopening the leg and using a wound vac to attempt to remove the infection and debris left by CMMC. All while constantly fighting a major infection, an infection so bad he required a pic line with IV antibiotics for 9 months. (Even after his release he needed IV meds). Even now years after his release he is not all clear, he still will require more surgeries.

My grandmother was recently in the hospital for a fall that fractured a couple of ribs. The nurses and doctors were awful to her except for a couple. She has dementia and they would make her wait 22 mins to go to the bathroom, making her want to get up on her own. She fell again this morning due to lack of care and no family member was contacted to let them know. They would take there sweet time doing anything. Would highly recommend not using this hospital because they are terrible

politics make the healthcare below par. the CEO was let go from Colorado before taking this position and the administration bleeds good leaders. high mid-management and staff turnover. Bad culture and employees are expendable. they spend millions of your healthcare dollars on travelers and turnover.

My husband was treated at our area ER hospital for pain in his lower back. They found his BP kept dropping, so they Sent him to Central Maine Medical for treatment an hour away. The staff there found he had sepsis. Also found a mass from his bladder to the bone. They were right on top of everything in Pulmonary ICU . I believe he is alive today because of this staff. I especially want to mention the charge nurse Brook who was always there to answer our questions. I think this hospital is top notch in my book

I haven't had my visit yet because my reminder call told me to be here at 2:30 and when I had made the appointment they told me 3:00. I called to confirm and was transferred 3 times and the last person in Central scheduling said she could not get through to that office to confirm if they wanted me here at 2:30 or 3......I asked to hold as I had just been transferred 3 times and I also needed to get back to work. I waited for a few minutes and the girl came back on and confirmed that I should arrive for 2:30 for prep. I have now arrived at 2:15 and told my visit is at 3:30 and I should have arrived for prep at 3. I would recommend you get rid of central scheduling and have each office have their own smaller call center. It is more personal and efficient. I always wait about 20 minutes for somone to answer only to be told someone will have to call me back. If I choose the call back option, I don't get a call back. I have not had a good experience since central scheduling. One good outcome of this experiencewould be that they should get a good reading on my stress test! NOT HAPPY!

Billing on the other hand was a 1 star!!! The initial payment was made that day, waited MONTHS for a bill (even called to pay it after we did not get a bill after 1- 2 months)....and then they had the nerve to send it to collection! Not impressed...

Have had to deal with a heart attack, several MIs, a case of gout, and have always had excellent attention from the front end staff, the triage nurses, and the doctors. Whenever I have had to be admitted, and they know me well enough to know I really don't like to hear those words, I have had the ultimate in care. Between Mercy hospital in Portland and CMMC, I am still alive and kicking.
