Linda is a true Gem and I ll come back just for her and the service she provided. Very tentative and on top of all questions. I had the chicken tacos and pina colada in the pineapple. So bomb! But also bring your own bottle. I will be back!

Have been meaning to try this place forever and finally got a chance to order take-out on a Friday night. The menu was diverse and we ordered the nachos, the Oaxaca Torta (loved!) and the carbonera. Everything was very tasty and reasonably priced. The portions were quite large and easily worth what we paid. While it was only a pick up, the staff was prompt and courteous upon arrival. I would like to visit here once restaurants are allowed to open again, and since it is BYOB the cost of the meal stays relatively inexpensive. I recommend you give this place a try, especially if you are in the area!

SO IMPRESSED. My boyfriend and I came on a Monday night for dinner, never been before but judging by the awesome reviews we were excited. Our server was amazing, kind and knowledgeable. The food was AMAZING. AND PRICES TOO! Same vibe as The Franklin on Franklin Ave but better! Portions were large and everything was so fresh. We will be back for sure. We got: Pirogies, truffle fries, linguine with clam sauce and the chicken parm. *chefs kiss*

French Dip was very good, plenty of beef, gravy a bit thick for a dip. Tried wings first without sauce, needed seasoning& was dry, really needed the sauce for any flavor. Would try again & try something different next time.

Another recommendation for Central Bistro at 403 Central Ave, 07307
Went here for Valentine's Day yesterday evening (my first time here) and everything was just right. Warm and cozy inside (still awed by the transformation from the previous food place there), the severs were kind and helpful with explaining the menu since they were using a special menu, all the food was loaded with flavor , the entrees were a very decent portion we didn't leave hungry (a 12oz. filet mignon is impressive at least to me) , plus was the dessert was a sweet treat for everything. Will be back, close to home

Love the food - absolutely delicious. Service could definitely improve, I often find the place will be empty and I have to get the waiter's attention. But I love the food so much I'm still giving 5 stars.

Great additional cafe to Central. The atmosphere is very hip with yoga house music, clean table spacing, and a dark decor. Very classy. Plus with the large window you can see all the knuckleheads walking past instead of coming into this cafe.

I ordered the avocado "toast" (really English muffins) and this is the best I've seen around. Poached eggs were a little over cooked but not enough to make me not like them. I like mine on the oozing side though. They also put pickled onions which really adds some good flavor. Home fries are good size pieces and nice and crunchy. The bacon is good too.

They don't have a big variety of coffees. The menu is full and I'm planning on coming back to try more things.

I've been here a handful of times and really love this place. It's BYOB and the food is fantastic. I hope they're doing well through everything, because they need to stick around. I order the chicken parm almost every time I go.

Not quite 5 stars but the food was exceptional.
I ordered mussels...good size portion, little too much butter and the fresh garlic was slightly burnt but it was still pretty good.
The ambiance is favourable to couples or mid size group and newly renovated in December.
This is a family restaurant serving up great food with friendly people.

Food was really good!! I had brunch. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly and of course was delicious. My girlfriend had breakfast burrito, the rice and beans were so full of flavor. Will definitely come back.

Have eaten here numerous times and have done take out. They now take credit and debit cards so cash only is not an issue. Their mussels are delicious, perfect size, portion and clean. Had the red sauce which was perfect as well. Being a pescatarian, I greatly enjoyed the grain bowl with shrimp. Absolutely delicious. Fried calamari was crispy and cooked perfectly. Our guests who are chicken wing lovers loved the ones we ordered here. The service is great too! This is our new go to place on Central Avenue! It s a byo and they have all the mixes needed for your cocktail. Definitely worth a try.

I visit this lovely place from time to time! This is my favorite restaurant to have a bite. I visit this spot at least once a month. The cooking is of high quality, the crew is polite and the payment is decent. I enjoy going in this place to have a rich supper.

Just had a very nice Friday night dinner here. Prices were extremely reasonable, service was excellent, the place was spotless and food was very tasty. We shared the fried shrimp in hot sauce app, which was like a shrimp "parm" without the cheese, and the tomato sauce really did have a nice kick. It also came with a piping hot loaf of fresh crispy bread. I had the burrata salad as my dinner and my hubby had the French dip sandwich, ordered and served medium rare. Espresso at the end was so so but all around no complaints and will definitely be back again!

Absolutely love this restaurant. To be honest, and can't quite pinpoint what, there was something about the outside that stopped us checking this place out for a long time. Maybe the neon signs. Not quite sure but I'm ashamed to have ignored it for so long based on that. Hopefully we've made up for my ignorance as this restaurant is fantastic and we eat here at least once a week (we walk all the way up from Journal Square to The Heights). The prices are incredible considering the quality and presentation of the food. The filet mignon, lamb burger and the buratta salad being my personal favorite dishes. The staff are awesome.

Central Bistro has some delicious bites, quick service and is moderately priced ($15-25 per person). This Bistro is located on the corner of Thorne Street and Central Avenue, a bit obscure in the dark colors of its facade and for some reason we have never stop by. As soon as you enter, the magic of its name begins. Smells and looks very clean/tidy. They have a brunch/lunch menu, dinner menu and kids menu. Prices are moderate but they are very flexible in providing you with any changes due to allergy. Friendly staff and fast service. My mother ordered the Eggs Benedict and I ordered a Western Omelette (made my way) and its the first time I ever had a juicy omelette. IT WAS DELICIOUS. Well worth the price. Thank you for having us and for making my Sunrise Island Tea (Black Tea steeped for 3 minutes placed into ice and topped off with orange juice). Hope to see more seats and tables and to see you prosper in the Jersey City Heights~.

New restaurant and brunch spot in the heights. Downtown JC looks great now but love the heights for a low-key "no fuss"/no crowds kind of evening. I'm a picky native "New Yorker" born and raised Italian principessa so my opinion holds weight in this department : ) No one makes the classics like mia nonna, BUT Central Bistro definitely puts l'amore into the food and gives generous portions for apps and entrees. Waiting staff was super friendly. We had the Chicken Parm & Chicken Marsala (pictured). Oh did I mention it's BYOB and there's a late night liquor store across the street? Buon Appetit! Hit this place up : )
