Finally, a German brewery! The beers were awesome! They make in-house soda made with sugar cane, delicious! And the food was fantastic! The restaurant was clean and modern. A GR must visit!

This brewery is very good. I was most pleased with the incredibly fair prices for the quality of food. That alone puts it above many other independent breweries I've been to. My friends enjoyed their beers and I enjoyed their handmade coconut-pineapple soda.

For food, their pulled pork sandwich was tasty and I was glad they left a bottle of the sauce to further saturate it with. Their flannel fries have a nice BBQ dusting and equate to wedges.

Our hostess and waitress were both attentive and patient, which was appreciated with the wide selection of beer. In addition, the waitress was helpful with ideas on beer flavor and offered tasting if we needed it Overall, I really enjoyed the Cedar Springs Brewing Company and will definitely return.

Unique and awesome brewery! They serve great beer, house Sangria, cider and cocktails. The food is both traditional and authentic German.... Yummy stuff. They are known for their chicken dinner and Brussels sprouts...agreed! The staff is friendly and efficient. Only downside for me is I find it hard to make a low-fat choice. It might be there, I'll keep trying!

Phenomenal beer and German fare. This place does the nod to German beers very well and they are doing the local area a favor for trying. The food my family and I enjoyed was excellent with one exception; The fried chicken served to my daughter would not pass muster with the Colonial (they brag about their chicken on menu). Stick with the German food which is excellent.

And try the Brussels sprouts! They taste like what you get when you combine a persistent chef with risk-taking owners and they all emerge with smug looks on their faces.

A brewery worth a drive north from Grand Rapids.

I liked the atmosphere. The beer was good... But $2 per SAMPLE from a new brewery is stupid and presumptuous. Further, the meat that was on the sloppy fries tasted fresh out of a PUBLIC grade school cafeteria. The fries looked like they were amazing, but had a cardboard flavor. I will go again, but not for the food, and salzborg marzen only. Nothing else sampled was worth the price.

Service is awful. Restaurant was crowded for Sunday evening around 6:30. Ordered pretzel bites for an appetizer and just received them after asking. Took the kitchen one hour to prepare. Unbelievable! Wonder what year our sandwiches will be served. Also Hostess knows nothing about the restaurant after asking her a few questions!

Sat in the beer garden and enjoyed some amazing beer and food( pilsner and weisbier, recommend both). I had the blackened salmon wrap and enjoyed every bite. Great burgers and German food available as well. A must go to destination for the cedar springs area.

Get a Sloppy Shawn, if you like sloppy joes. Nice beers and good German food (yes, German food can be good!). Wonderful when the weather allows outside seating or rolling up the garage doors to open the hall!

Service was not bad food was not bad but the time it took to get the food was a bit much we sat for 1 hour before we got our food and it was not even that busy and they did not come over to check on our drinks they were empty most of our time there

Dave and team have done a fantastic job! The staff is very attentive each time I go in, the food is phenomenal and the beer is great too! LOVE the open face pulled-pork dinner and the flannel fries with the cedar sauce are top notch!

Schnitzel was incredible. It s like a pounded down pork chop that is gone too soon. Enjoy every tiny morsel while I could and drooled at everyone else s until they all ate every bite. I need more. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

CD Brewery had lacked the same quality I have received in the past. The last two times the chicken has been dry and the sprouts have been over cooked and flavorless. To top it off I have not been able to get the sauces. The server told me I could get one sauce, not the entire set. The beer is still as good as ever, but the kitchen has been on a slide.

Noted some of the prior posts and trusted what I had read. Sorry, the service, food and surroundings is much better than noted by others. And, that one gal named Sara, noted by another past patron, is sincerely, #1. Anyone who can not enjoy this establishment, well, maybe, they need to look in the mirror.

Remember the old Snitzelbank (sic)restaurant downtown GR ? It was the only place that offered good German / Bavarian food. Finally a brewery that has amazing food and great beer. This place is awesome and great waitstaff and very friendly. If you have to wait it's worth it. Jagersnitzel was awesome. Thank you. I've lived in San Francisco and Portland, OR. CS brewery is right on. Five stars.

Good local beer, good menu, German beer hall ambience. Nice outdoor patio with live music when we were there. Food was a little dry and overcooked. Not my grandma's German potato salad either!

I'll start nice and say the beer is pretty good. I tried 3 different brews and was happy with all of them. The rest of the evening was just annoying...we had a group of 20, called a week early and made a reservation for 22. When we got there we had 1 picnic table with a reserved sign on it, while the connecting table still had people sat at it. They left, so we took that over, but still only had room to seat 14-16 comfortably. Luckily the next table over opened up eventually and we all finally sat down 30-40 minutes after our reservation. Most people seemed happy with the food, however I ordered the Jagershpitzel (sp) and was not happy. A dried out pork chop with a half can of cream of mushroom on top. Could do better at home. Told the guy in the red suit (guessing manager) that it wasn't great and he said that yea the pork gets dried out sometimes...yikes. Maybe I'm picky, maybe we shouldn't have asked for that large of a reservation, but I expected more. If I'm going to bring a party to spend $500+ in a night I hope it's better than what I got

This brewery is alright. We drove here to have dinner and a beer outside of town and it did fulfill that request. The building is pretty standard - not too big, they utilize the space well, and they did have a big back patio. The beer here is mostly all German, and I didn't expect that. I thought that would have all styles, so I had a hard time finding a beer I really liked. The food was decent. They have sandwiches and salads, soups and dinners - a pretty standard basic menu. I had the pulled pork sandwich and the wedges. I gotta say, the seasoned fries were actually to die for. I'm not usually one to go crazy for fries and I rarely eat even half of them, but I ate almost all of these. My other half got the brisket sandwich and fries. Both of our sandwiches were just okay - pretty dry. Needless to say, we probably won't make it back out there.

Brewing supply store looks like they have a great supply, but everything was out of stock. Tried to get a simple grain bill and all that I needed was empty and they did not have inventory to refill. Had to substitute 2/3 malts. Went into hop cooler and they did not have any of the common hops I needed (citra, mosaic, galaxy...). Also had to substitute for hops I didn't plan on. Went to yeast cooler, had an even worse supply. Again had to substitute. Don't know why I spent time on the recipe. Won't be back, figure it out.

Had dinner with my parents, wife, and kids. Everyone loved it. We had the giant pretzel appetizer and it was amazing. My parents had the fried chicken and they said it was some of the best they've had. I had a vegetarian German dish and I'd definitely get it again. My wife enjoyed her pulled pork sandwich and the kids liked their food too. I sampled four beers and wasn't charged for any of them. My wife and I liked the beers we chose. My dad had wine and my mom had sangria. The kids had soda made in house: pomegranate lemonade flavor and coconut pineapple flavor with others to choose from as well. It is worth the drive.

Food was delicious!! Many choices of German beer. It's the first time my 9 year old finished his plate at a restaurant and asked for more. Many options to choose from on the menu. Service was lacking a bit. Everyone was nice it just seemed a little unorganized. Definitely a must try Brewery.

By far, one of the most authentic German restaurants/breweries in West Michigan. All the beers are phenomenal and the food is amazing. Service is always on top of it and friendly. Every detail throughout the entire building points back to its Bavarian roots - from the decor, the antiques lining the shelves, even the acoustic panels on the ceiling and walls are wrapped with flags. This is hands down one of our favorite places & well worth the trip!

Live music during brunch was also a nice touch!

Really great German-American food, with a few Southern style specials (ribs, fried chicken, etc). HUGE portions! The sweet/fried Brussels sprouts are novel and amazingly good. We're not beer drinkers, but I hear good things about their micro-brews and homemade sodas. My only complaint is it is a VERY NOISY restaurant. Cement floor, high metal ceiling, and glass garage doors do not absorb sound, they bounce it around. If you're looking for a place for conversation at a normal level, this is not the place. Go for the food!

So I read all reviews before entering any place . not sure about the negative reviews but I have to give all 5 stars. Sunday afternoon and service was excellent, food was outstanding! ( jaegerschnitsel) was on point, and the brews were all very tasty! To anyone with a bad experience I suggest a second chance

Excellent brewery - German beer hall. Great food - a lot of variety and German choices. Great service - stop by and say hi to Josh at the bar. He will take great care of you. Worth the short drive from GR.
