Lovely and captivating place. Perfectly fits the definition of SIMPLICITY IS BEAUTY. The place is neat and in order. The people are also well mannered.

Just in front of the Provincial Capitol, you can see a lot of Pawnshops (Palawan Pawnshop, Gemmary Pawnshop and Jewellery, RD Pawnshop, etc). You can also find a lot of restaurant where you can eat.

It is a landmark of Cebu Province and is indeed a replica of the "White House". As you visit parts of Capitol, you'd be surprised that theatrical events and musicals could actually be held in some of its halls!

Cebu Island itself is long and narrow, stretching 196 kilometres (122 mi) from north to south and 32 kilometres (20 mi) across at its widest point. It has narrow coastlines, limestone plateaus and coastal plains. It also has rolling hills and rugged mountain ranges traversing the northern and southern lengths of the island.

Cebu's highest mountains are over 1,000 metres (3,300 ft) high. Flat tracts of land can be found in the city of Bogo and in the towns of San Remigio, Medellin and Daanbantayan at the northern region of the province.

The island's area is 4,468 square kilometres (1,725 sq mi),[16] making it the 9th largest island in the Philippines. It supports over 3.5 million people, of which 2.3 million live in Metro Cebu.

Beaches, coral atolls, islands and rich fishing grounds surround Cebu.

This is a Public Place and Govt Area.. dapat walang parking fee.. pati ba naman yan.. pagkakakitaan niyo?

The Cebu Provincial Capitol is the seat of the provincial government of Cebu in the Philippines. Located at the north end of Osmena Boulevard in Cebu City, it was designed by Juan M. Arellano, a Filipino architect best known for the Manila Metropolitan Theatre (1935), the Legislative Building (1926; now the National Museum of the Philippines), and the Manila Central Post Office (1926).The Cebu Provincial Capitol Building is the seat of government of the province of Cebu. The Capitol houses the offices of the governor, the legislative hall of the provincial board and other provincial and national government offices. It is located in Osmena Boulevard at the corner of Escario Street. At the back of the Capitol is the Marcelo B. Fernan Hall of Justice Building, which houses the courthouses and offices of the metropolitan trial courts and regional trial courts, and other government offices attached to the national government s Department of Justice.
Construction began in 1937 during the administration of Governor Sotero Cabahug, who was its principal champion. It was financed through a bond approved by Pres. Manuel Quezon and through public subscription. The building was finally completed in 1938 during the term of Governor Buenaventura Rodriguez, the inauguration ceremony taking place during June 14, 1938, led by President Manuel L. Quezon, with Cebu Archbishop Gabriel Reyes blessing the new building, and the wife of Governor Rodriguez breaking the champagne bottle at the main balcony. The Capitol was badly damaged in World War II but eventually rehabilitated through the Tydings War Damage Act of 1946.
The Cebu Provincial Capitol is dramatically positioned at the end of a grand perspective of a new avenue (Osmena Boulevard) as conceived by William E. Parsons in his 1912 plan of Cebu, in the lines of the City Beautiful Movement. The building follows a H-shaped plan, one side opening to the terminus of Osmena Boulevard. The main block or corps de logis, three stories high, is flanked by two secondary wings, symmetrically advancing to embrace a rectangular, elevated cour d'honneur that serves as an entrance podium. The elevation of the corps de logis is of typical neoclassical formula: a rusticated ground floor, containing minor rooms and offices, the piano nobile above, with the most important spaces, and finally the attic story. A heavy cornice and parapet caps the facade, with allegorical statues standing by its corners. The most distinctive part of the facade is the central concave pavilion, which creates the semi-circular main balcony and pulls together the entire mass, finally crowned by an austere dome upon an octagonal drum. The piano nobile is reached by two staircases from the ground floor foyer. The first space, the art deco rotunda below the cupola, opens to the south the main balcony that faces Osmena Boulevard, and to its north the ballroom (social hall). Two-stories high with full-length windows, the ballroom, also in art deco style, is reminiscent of a fairytale setting. Two enormous chandeliers fashioned in crystal and local capiz shells (placuna placenta) light the grand space. The building's architectural style is neoclassical in spirit, but in its severe simplification foreshadows the changing architectural language of Arellano towards the art deco style.

The Cebu Provincial Capitol is the center of government of the province of Cebu. The present structure was designed by Architect Juan M. Arellano, who also designed a plethora of iconic structures (which include the Manila Central Post Office, Negros Occcidental Capitol, Old Legislative Building, Manila Metropolitan Theater, BPI Cebu Main Branch, among others). The building has a neecolassical design with a splash of art deco. It was inaugurated by President Manuel Luis Quezon on 14 June 1936. It was rehabilitated after being damaged during World War II.

The inscription on its facade reads, "The authority of the government emanates from the people. Erected A.D. MCMXXXVII."

It is easily accessible by public transportation. There are plenty of food establishments near the capitol. Aside from picture-taking, (and unless you have government transactions to process) there is nothing else to do here.
