I'm thankful for the blessing by this company despite the pandemic. We are still continue working. May God the glory always protect us from that virus. God is good. This will not be forever. He will heal our land soon. We just keep on praying. Say the Holy rosary everyday.

How can anyone give this sweatshop a positive review?! Ask the people who work there. They work extremely long hours in miserable and unsafe conditions. 72 hours a week is common, and they do it for the equivalent of about US$225 per month. They work on their feet for 12 hour shifts because Mitsumi is too cheap to buy them chairs. The only people allowed to sit down are pregnant woman. This place exploits the poor people of Cebu who have no other place to work, and the Filipino politicians must have sold out to Mitsumi or they would never allow their citizens to be treated this way. Shame on Mitsumi, and shame on the politicians lining their pockets with Korean money.

I am amazed at some of the negative comments leveled at Mitsumi and the Danao city government in these reviews. Mitsumi must be the best established and largest employer in Danao, and is responsible for many of the improvements in the quality of life for nearby residents over the past 25 years.

No employer is exempt from criticism, of course, and thee is always room for improvement, but to suggest that Mitsumi exploits its workers or that the city government is somehow complicit in exploitation is unwarranted - employees are free to leave for any other job they wish, at any time. Oh, there are few jobs available in the area? They are also free to move to another area where there is a larger choice of employers. Neither the company nor the city government is forcing them to go to work there. As for the rate of pay, if Mitsumi wanted to pay every workday the amount most workers make in a month here, they would build a factory in California - but then no one could afford to buy their products and they would go out of business. Or, they could relocate to China and the workers in the Danao area could find something else to do - maybe fishing or basket weaving - some high paying business like that.

Some people are never satisfied.

The fact is, if one were to compile a list of cities or towns in the Visiyas which would be thrilled to have such a solid employer located in their area, the list would be long.
