They serve the best signature sushi in SA and it's at 50% discount Monday to Friday from lunchtime to 18h00. Their a-la-cart menu sports superior presentations served by professional well trained friendly staff. Because they are in the V & A, their pricing is aimed at the tourism market.

Loved all the ordered dishes, especially the gentle and delicious kingklip (Cape congrio). The waiter and receptionist are very funny and sociable. They served quite quickly, although there were many visitors. Great wine selection and great port views.

Very disappointing. Poor service and was repremanded by the waitress for not leaving a R200 tip. The starter was very nice but as for the rest I have reservations. It was Christmas day and I believe tipping goes on service.

Fresh Sushi and tasty dim sum

Fresh Sushi and tasty dim sum

Sevruga serves great quality sushi. They also have excellent dim sum, I would recommend the chicken and peanut pot stickers. They have one of the best Pina coladas!

It provides a nice view that looks out onto the Harbour.

If I were to choose my last meal on Earth, it would be here at Sevruga! Located on the V & A waterfront, it serves as an excellent place for lunch/brunch after experiencing a profound tour of Robbin's Island, where Mandela spent most of his prison term. The ambience is beautiful as are the clientele. The cuisine is flown in fresh daily and prepared with the utmost care. Staff members are attentive and well acquainted with the menu. The seafood and crustacean platter had an impressive combination of fish, shrimp, scallops, grilled calamari, oysters, and whole shell crab, each with its own distinctive flavor. Every portion was plentiful, delicious, and full of flavor with the exception of the calamari, which was rubbery in texture and needed to soak longer within a marinade and then lightly grilled. Butternut squash and a fresh garden salad accompanied my meal without competing in regards to flavor. The wine list was impressive and complimentary to my entree.

Prices are on the higher end of the spectrum, however, this is South Africa. There are a select few culinary experiences where one should unabashedly splurge and indulge .Sevruga is one of them!

Parking always seems to be a problem at the Waterfront. We drove around for a while looking for a space. The lights above the parking spaces which are supposed to show you when a space is available wasn't working.
When we arrived at Sevruga, the waiter hurried us along as if to get rid of us asap. There were not enough menu's for the table so we shared about 6 menu's between 13 people.
Our waiter was very impatient, not sure if it's because it's festive season and the restaurant was full. I enjoyed the virgin strawberry daiquiri but the straw wasn't practical. It's made of cardboard so it collapsed because it got wet.
I had a sushi starter which was on a half price special. The cocktails were on special too. I had a calamari main meal. Not very filling for the price but all of the food was delicious. The dessert is very expensive with the mud pie costing ninety something rand.

Upmarket restaurant against the water in V&A waterfront. Nice stylish decor and setting. Quite Pricey but that is expected at a restaurant of this caliber. Mains menu selection is quite limited but food is good, and service decent.

Visited for the first meal of our honeymoon. The food is fantastic. Mainly seafood. Presentation superb, flavours also. Excellent wine selection. We were served by Martin, who was a fantastic waiter. Highly recommended for a special meal whilst in the V&A.

Fantastic restaurant situated in the Waterfront. The food was delicious - I would especially recommend the sushi. They also offered a great variety of specials. The service was good and the staff were friendly. We had a great table that let us enjoy views of the harbour. However, this is quite a pricey restaurant.

Try the sushi special on Sundays, half price sushi / dim sum / cocktails. Service can be slow when they are busy so it's best you order all at once for a more relaxing lunch. The Sushi selection available is wide with most of the common California rolls available and some of their signature ones. The Dim sum was average and nothing special. Cocktails were great and they offer a wide variety.

My Partner and I go to Sevruga once a year to celebrate our anniversary as this is where we had our first date years back.

We always loved the place and got very excited each year to go and have an awesome experience.

This year was no different, dressed up and feeling excited we sat down and expected an amazing night out.

Unfortunately a lot has changed, the staff wasn't as friendly as they always used to be and we felt like they treated us as if we didn't belong there.

The sushi also wasn't as good as it used to be.

Think we might need a new tradition as Sevruga won't be seeing us again!

Food and waiter's service was average.

Food and waiter's service was average.

The guy sorting the booking and manager interaction was excellent.

I left feeling a bit disappointed, mostly because of the food.

A Sushi Experience to be remembered and never forgotten!! With a 50% discounted selection on various items also on cocktails
Throughout the daytime
Dine in the conservatory and watch the boat ferries through the glass folding doors attract the passers by onto their boats
There is also an ala carte menu should you prefer an alternative to Sushi
The restaurant is under new ownership and has just been fully revamped to a very high and elegant garden style interior very fresh and airy feel throughout
There is also a very cool newly fitted out lounge bar open plan to the restaurant
So not to be missed for a leisurely lunch or formal evening dinner a must if you are visiting the waterfront for the very first time as a visitor to CT

It's a very nice and classy restaurant, enjoyed their lamb shank dish. I didnt like the female waitress who wear glasses, she ruined everything by asking us if she can move our plates, meanwhile she was not our waitress and she did not greet us. We had to stop eating so the Madam can collect our plates

Fabulous location. Walking distance to the centre of waterfront and long St. If you prefer not to walk the 15 mins, there is the canal ferry that stops here regularly for R50 for a day ticket. Great staff and service. I had a problem and it was fixed immediately. Yummy breakfast. Thoroughly recommend, great value.

The service is always great. During the week before 18H00 its always half price on the cocktails and sushi. Sushi is always fresh. Has a nice view of the V&A Harbour. Apart from sushi they have a menue that caters to most dietary requirements.

Nice welcoming service when you come in , the virgin mojitos was nice had the spicy mango , which had a nice after kick, prepare to wait for your food ,think we waited nearly a hour or more , apparently the sushi was done first and they waiting for the other meal which is common practice to bring the food to the table at the same time , the calamari was very bland , and the sushi was falling apart rice breaking when trying to use the chopsticks , would recommend this place only for thier virgin mojito and the friendly service, but if u dont want to wait long for over priced food that was very average, stay away

Called up to make a booking and was told the outside area was full so just booked a normal table. Arrived at the restaurant and I noticed a table for 2 outside was available. I asked and was told it was probably booked I waited 20 minutes and kept an eye on the table which was still empty only to watch a random couple come in through the side door, bypass the front of house and sit on this table that was booked . So I waited another 15 minutes to see if the restaurant noticed but to my horror they were served as normal and just carried on. What was the point in me making a pre booking when I could have just rocked up and gone through the outside area door which they just leave open? I mentioned this all to one of the more senior waitress s and she went and told the front of house lady but haven t had a single person come and tell me the situation as I wrote this review. I will not be returning here again which is a shame because I came here two years ago and it was a pleasure.

After we had our Sushi, a waiter by the name of Nkosi came and offered us complimentary desert. When the bill came, it was charged on our bill which was confusing but we paid regardless. When confronted about the issue he acted shocked and confused- insincerely at that with a misogynistic attitude. I was very unimpressed with the way he conducted himself and hope he will be dealt with for misleading us and being extremely rude.

UPDATE: The owner replied promptly to my email and apologized sincerely. I appreciate his courtesy.

I have to say, I enjoyed every single bite of the meal in. I had a 3 course meal, with a Spier Secert Champagne. The prices fit within your budget if you go with the set menu, the 3 course meal @ R229 or a 2 course meal @ R185. Ideal for those who want a romantic night out. Will definitely be back again.
