Amazing restaurant. The service is great and the food is even better. Have been there a few times now and can say that they consistently serve delicous food.
Right on the waterfront, geared towards tourists. Good and friendly service. Excellent food. We had fresh oysters, king clips, salmon trout and sushi. Reasonable price level. Recommended.
I went to the restaurant a few years ago and had an amazing time with amazing food.. however last night I sat at sevruga with a red face infront of my foreign guests because of the terrible evening we had. We were a table of 9 and everything from the service to the food was very dissapointing... the food was bland and served one plate at a time... the waitress was unattentive and had little to no fine dining training.... their sushi which is their "best seller" was horrific.
I would not recommend Sevruga ever again as it is over priced for quality you get and not worth the embarresment to take your guests their at all... Sorry guys... i expected more... look at your service standards and change the menu ..your chefs need some re training...
Wonderful food - seafood is extremely fresh and well prepared. The portions are generous as well. Can highly recommend the mussels, they were fantastic. Service is good even though they are running a skeleton staff due to Covid - they still managed to make the experience great.
Chilled vibe with a great view of the marina...sushi and cocktails is the best i tasted thus far... half price on both til 7 all week...
Suvrega is a classy restaurant in a superb setting. The staff would do credit to a modelling agency, yet they're warm and welcoming. The service, on the evening we were there, was very good, our waiter being most attentive, personable and frankly suave. The dishes ranged from good (duck pate, creme brulee) to outstanding (beef fillet, venison, chocolate mousse/marquise). The only slight disappointment was the white chocolate martini -as a concept, it fails to convince: too bland. A great evening out, most definitely repeatable
Lovely place awesome personell and good food. eat here quite frequent and enjoy the reasonable prices and very fresh food.
Apparently new owners since September 2018, definitely deserve more than 4,2 average now. Prices are almost European but the service and quality is still way above the price tag.
Kingklip cooking on top, beautiful view by the sea, just sublime dill sauce, attentive service and cloth tablecloth, cozy place: the best fish restaurant in Cape Town!
Gotta admit I expected more from this place. The restaurant wasn't busy and they seated us in a weird location where the hostesses and patrons kept bumping into us to get by. The sushi was good though (crispy tuna roll especially), the prawns were huge and tasty, the duck pate was rich and flavorful, but the grilled calamari as well as the beef filet was lacking in flavor. The location is great with a patio looking out to the waterfront.
It tries to be something better than it actually is, but it was alright.
The waiter was really unfriendly at first, maybe he thought we weren't good enough for this restaurant, and did mistakes constantly.
The food looks better than it is, sadly.
The catch of the day was dry, the medium rare tune was completely overdone and had to go back. To be fair though, they were pretty understanding and made a second tuna right away, which was good.
Absolutely love coming here! They recently renovated and it looks stunning!
Very nice and relaxed. Great food! Loved the steak, had a unique taste. Whilst eating I tried to figure out what it was, probably the special ingredient! The calamari starter was also nice. Nice and energetic staff! It's a definite yes again! Your food tastes delicious!
overrated sushi, personally I think there is too much rice/starch in their sushi. Outside sitting was very hot with no air conditioning, perhaps better during the day when blinds are open. Floors are quite slippery for us ladies in our stilettos.
Awesome place go. Food was lovely and the service was excellent. Would definitely recommend this place 100 times over and over again.
Decor and food is superb... location is very central
Quite a nice place just off the waterfront. We all orders the fish which was well prepared.
Beautiful restaurant. The food is amazing. The service from staff is excellent. The views are beautiful. I can't fault this restaurant. Definitely a place to visit when in Cape Town.
What an amazing evening the food was immaculate, tasty and the evening was such a memorable one.
Great service from our server but be prepared to wait a long time after you place your order for food. The bar churns out cocktails at a reasonably good speed. Classic cocktails are at half price from 12-5pm and the Long Island iced teas are very well made. Would recommend.
The sushi platters were good but you are better off ordering from the classic sushi that is at half price from 12pm-5pm. It adds up to be cheaper than the silver, gold, platinum etc. platters.
DO NOT ORDER THE STARTERS. the asparagus (refer to photo), costs R105 and there s only 3 pathetic sticks of asparagus. Absurd. They also have a Tian Of Prawns on special at R120 - staff described it as 3 prawns in some fancy cooked style. But really?? 3 sticks of asparagus for R105 is ridiculous.
Seared grilled prawns in the main course page, were really yummy.
Great venue. Buzzing atmosphere and delicious food. Friendly service and yummy wine. What more could you want? Recommend the sevruga special sushi plate and the try out the line caught fish of the day.
Rude staff. They argue amongst each other in front of customers. There were tables available but they could not seat 1 person. Seems that the waitresses are unable to cope. Very disappointing. This used to be an amazing restaurant. Sevruga - please sort out your front office and teach them some etiquette!!!
Our meals were beautiful and delicious. See pics. Only negative is the slow service, loud music, and many staff weren't wearing their masks correctly. The front manager was covering her chin instead of her mouth and nose.
They have sushi specials everyday from 12 to 6pm half price dim sum and sushi and cocktails and half price all day on Sunday if I'm mistaken, you won't need to book as there is always space to accommodate.
Good, friendly service and good quality food. Will definitely go back.
Disgustingly expensive for horrendous service (at that price-tag) and mediocre food. I don't shy away from spending money on a good night out. But when I spend money, I expect service to equal the level of what I'm spending. And I actually expect the food to match the price-tag too... Waiters screaming instructions to each other through the restaurant, me having to get up to fill my own glass of wine 3 times, having to call out to waiters (loudly!) to get their attention... Honestly, at the exorbitant prices you charge for drinks and food, I expect at least that your staff will be on point. The food? Bleh... Calamari tastes like nothing. My local Spar's sushi is more inventive... No guys, I realize that you're catering for tourists, but this is rediculous. Won't see me again.
The best mojito I have ever tasted, and great food.
The place is nice, the service is good the food doesn't live up to the price, but the location couldn't be better
Really amazing food! Ask for Martin...he is probably the best waiter I have ever had serving me! The people are friendly and the food amazing!
We received an exceptional fine dining experience with my husband on his birthday. To top it off our service ambassador for our table surprised my husband with a personalised dessert. Great service indeed.
Love their half priced sushi! Portions got a bit smaller when they got new management though... try the prawn surprise :)
With all the "specials" happening right now. This is by far my least favourite.
Value for money however the food tonight was well under seasoned.
Good steak quality however again very under seasoned.
Service was a bit slow taking into consideration that it was not a full house tonight.
Would go back but mainly for the sushi only.
Stunning setting, great ambience and really good food and service
Highly recommend Sevruga on your next visit to the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town
My husband and I passed by one Saturday afternoon and decided to stop there for lunch.Being summertine and hot we were both casually dressed. When we approached one of the staff at the entance about getting a table she promptly took out a menu and showed my husband the prices of the various items, intimating that we couldn't afford it??Since when do you judge clients by their appearance?Nevertheless despite this utter rudeness,we still decided to try out the place. The view was beautiful but the food very average and nothing special.Staff also not too attentive or friendly.Like another reviewer mentioned earlier,we were made to feel out of place. We won't be back.
Very nice setting with covered and enclosed veranda my preference.
Midday special on Sushi/sashimi and Chinese dishes a winner.
Good wines but rather expensive.
Good service.
One of the best restaurants i have visited during my stay. Sushi designed by the chef is wonderful, regional wines are on a high level.
Sushi special is always a winner, beautiful terrace is perfect for some " people watching". Always professional service.
Excellent restuarant, with a wide selection of dishes that cover a range of prices. Beautiful views of the harbour during the day. Staff are friendly, educated, have tasted all the dishes... just a rare find of a restaurant in general.
Unfortunately I found the service at Sevruga incredibly poor. Whilst the waiters are really nice, the food took close to an hour and our drinks took roughly 30 minutes to arrive, too. When we arrived, we had to wait for our reservation to be prepared despite the restaurant phoning 2 hours beforehand to confirm the booking. We had asked for an outside table and reserved it as such and we were seated inside right at the back of the restaurant near the bathroom. The food and beverages are also really overpriced, and the quality is really no better than any other lower budget restaurant in the area so it doesn't necessarily feel worth the inflated price. Overall a disappointing experience, I don't think I will come back here.
It's a quite a nice place, the food is ok, it's overpriced for SA
Food was delightful and our waiter was awesome. Knew the menu inside out and laughed and joked with us the whole evening, lightening the mood. I will be back.
Always impressive sushi, dim sum and cocktails, with a comprehensive menu for those who aren't sushi lovers.
Had a great time here. Sophisticated decor which is backed by the service, cocktails and food.
Awesome 1/2 price special during the day. Sushi and cocktails are great.
I enjoyee theire view by waterfront. It is really a great place to visit. Their well lit restaurant captures the moment. With your family member or your significant other. I really enjoyed the vibe here. Close to superb shopping stores and just by the sea, you can smell the breeze from the sea.I enjoyed my time here
Totally the Touri restaurant. If you really want to eat something typical "South African", please don't go here. No local eats here. Staff was very inattentive and we had to draw attention to ourselves several times. Although it was very empty.
Food was okay nothing special and the dessert was a disaster. The wine was very bad.
We ate very rich! Some gnocchi with very rich pesto and some calamari very well prepared but accompanying rice with herbs that did not stick with the squid. For dessert a chocolate fondant. All delicious. Very nice restaurant! Very good attention.
Great sushi but like all V&A restaurants, very expensive
Sevrugu is an absolutely amazing resturant. I have been multiple times and have received nothing but the best service and the highest quality food everytime.
I especially recommend their specialty sushi and their beetroot desert.
They also have a large variety of specials which helps make Sevrugu more affordable than many of their competitors.
I strongly recommend a visit.
I thoroughly enoyed my signature platter which I shared with a friend. It is well worth having a sushi lunch and cocktail at half price. Including a tip our bill came to R300 for two of us. Great value for money. Definitely planning to return soon.
A fantastic restaurant, welcoming staff, great service, and food to match. One of my favourite restaurants and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special dining experience.
It's always an enjoyable experience for us at Sevruga. Once again, complimentary glasses of bubbles courtesy of tge Sevruga manager to say thanks for our customer loyalty, amazing waitress Asanda who always takes good care of us, and fantastic food and wine. Thanks again Sevruga!
Service is up to par. You honestly get your money's worth if not more. Perfect place for any occasion, mood and company.
One of the best situated restaurants at the Waterfront
Great atmosphere and high quality food (especially fresh fish)
Well this restaurant deserves 6 stars ,I mean wow ,the food is amazing ,we have visited that restaurant more times than any other restaurant in Cape Town ,and its located near the aquarium ,if you are sitter outside you can see the seals in the Indian ocean ,its an amazing view ,the sits are very well allocated and they are of high quality ,you must be sitting good to eat good:),....and the customer care is stunning ,I took a lot of pictures and I'm glad to share this experience ,if you are going to this restaurant ,look forward to be amazed:)
Absolutely love this place... Such a nice place to grab lunch in the summer.
Asked for lobster but we got laugoustine was very dry and shame let alone poorly made way too high price paid you will be fooled as a tourist not recommended
Fantastic! Always great food, and the best service you'll find in Cape Town. Even more awesome now they have specials every day too. Not sure why you'd go anywhere else for sushi or dim sum!
Amazing service from everyone and everyone is so friendly
The most amazing romantic meal ever. Food is amazing
Great setting with sunset on harbour. Helpful staff at desk with welcome drink .Friendly waiter Prince. Dimsum was great. Had the Thai prawn curry and my wife had Tempura Tuna Shushi
Fantastic view, great ambience, upmarket restaurant with good food. A good collection of quality whiskeys and the service is exceptional. A special thanks to the restaurant manager, Marlon Aspeling who visited our table throughout our evening and made recommendations.
