Casa Rustica Review

Food was pretty good. Bread and salad were definitely the highlight! It has been a while since we ate here due to poor service the first time. This time we had a waitress named Madison who was perfect! She made the experience and now we will be returning.

Good food, but not quite worth the extra 5th star. Great service.

This is the second year in a row that my wife has been unable to get their candy cane martini. I was the designated driver; our friend takes medication and can't drink; and my wife didn't want anything, so we all ordered water to drink. After that it was almost as if we didn't exist. This ranked as some of the worst service we have ever received. Last year was not much better. We will modify our holiday tradition to find a better restaurant next year.

We were looking for a place we had not tried and arrived obviously under dressed during the week. we were asked if we had reservations. no but were seated right away. Our server was flustered from the very beginning. Said they were short staffed. Wine arrived very slowly. Food was ok but overpriced. Bread came cold and not timely. Atmosphere was cozy, lots of wood. Restroom was a one stall right next to hostess desk!
Been there done that. Won't be going back.

We stopped in on a recommendation. They were packed! We are a family of six and they had no room for us but they did not turn us away! Instead they squeezed us into a table for four and we had one of the most wonderful, enjoyable and delectable experiences ever! The food was fantastic and the service was outstanding (you go Gabriel!). The staff went way beyond to make us feel welcomed and ensure we had a terrific experience. We will remember this dinner for years to come and look forward to the next time we are in the mountains skiing so we can stop by and see Gabriel and the full staff at Casa Rustica!

I made a reservation one week prior for my birthday and requested a booth. When I arrived, I was given a table. There is also live music on Thursday nights and the table was practically on top of the musicians. The food and service however was excellent.

Food was outstanding from the salad, to entre to dessert!! Just wish they would have had gluten free pasta for my friend who ordered it. 25 min later they came and told us they were out. Should have had discounted it on check. Thanks for yummy food.

Everyone loved their meals. The veal parm was superb and the 3 layer chocolate cake was fantastic.

A great place to eat Italian. We recently visited and each of our group's entrees were excellent. I highly recommend visiting here to enjoy the food in a relaxed, rustic environment.

You remember school cafeteria spaghetti? That overcooked mush drenched with tomato paste and a substance which may have passed as meat if you were drunk or a dog? Pretty much that. Save your money and get yourself some instant noodles and a jar of prego.

We had a party of 10 and every appetizer, meal and dessert was spot on! So authentic and delicious. You can tell someone really cares about your entire dining experience. Great job Casa Rustica!!!!

Be sure to consider the specials they are always great, and don't be afraid to ask to have it made the way you like, I am on restricted sodium and am always accommodated without a problem.

First time at Cafe Rustica. No wait time with reservation. Entrees were great. Presentation great. Waitress named Rae took great care of us. I'll be back!

Great food and great service. If you want Italian food in Boone, this is the place to go.

Great service, atmosphere and the chicken alfredo was authentic and tasted very good. The portions are large so we shared our entree. Very rustic and romantic with a fire place. Prices are fair. Did take one star off for not so cold beer.

Food was delicious, service was great (even for a large group, though we did make reservations) and atmosphere was perfect for a family dinner.

Four of us had a very pleasant dinner here recently. The salad was excellent--high quality greens and generous servings. The bread was also excellent, with a selection including whole grain. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. I had the eggplant parmigiana and it was very good. The service was friendly and prompt. The decor is very appropriate for Boone.

Finally tried this spot on a recent Boone trip and absolutely loved it. Has a very family feel. Portions are a good size and the prices for the entrees include pasta or salad and a side. Highly recommend the eggplant bake (basically eggplant parm) and the spinach lasagna. Noise level is low but not stuffy quiet, so it s great for casual family gatherings and friend groups where you want to be able to hear each other talk. Plenty of seating and space, but recommend snagging a res on OpenTable a day in advance if you want to go at a busy time.

I arrived rather early on a Tuesday evening so it wasn't too crowded for me. I had the mozzarella sticks for an appetizer and the chicken Marsala for my entree. Both were good, but the Marsala was exceptional. For dessert I chose to go with that evening's special - the almond & amaretto cake. The waitress said it was delicious and "light and moist" which is why I chose it - I didn't want anything heavy. I don't know if it's because I took it back to my hotel and waited an hour or so to eat it or not, but it was anything but light and moist. The icing was also cheap tasting.
My waitress, Kai (sp?) was great - attentive and truly an advocate for the food. I would come back if in the mood for Italian and in Boone again.

It was an unfortunate experience with the owner. Very unprofessional and very questionable. The rest of the staff was great and attentive but the owner was very boorish and rude. His presence made the entire dinner party uncomfortable and upset during parts of the night. Questioning ever coming back.

Very nice atmosphere. Little pricey, but good food.

The Cajun cream sauce and Vodka sauce were both good. The meat sauce was different and no one in my party would eat it.
The Coconut cake was the best I have ever had.

Fettuccine Alfredo bland very little cheese no flavor

Make sure to make a reservation to eat here, it is very busy, but they have a great staff, and you always get good food. A very upscale restraint in Boone and pricey but worth the money.

A Classic Italien to me. Great food, wine, atmosphere and Boone location. Opens at 5:00 pm. Reservations suggested. Enjoy!

Always wonderful food. I ordered chicken picata and it is always excellent. It is one of our favorite places to eat in the area.

Food is good but after I paid call me back and said I had to pay for two extra that we didn't have not cool

We entered the restaurant at 7:02 pm for our 7 o'clock reservation. My family and I were seated quickly and we had our orders placed by 7:10 for wine, salads, and entrees. The wine didn't come until 7:45 and our bread by 7:50. After our entrees and starter salads had not come by 8:10, we complained to the General Manager about our situation. We told her that other tables who had arrived after us had already been served and not even our starter salads had come yet. She simply said "we're short-staffed." After complaining to the General Manager, we walked out of the restaurant with no food and exasperated by 8:15.

Great food. Great prices. Great service. If you're in Boone, make this a destination

I have never had pasta soooo good..... Love love loved everything

My girlfriend and I stopped here awhile back on a Saturday night. The service, appetizers, and wine were excellent, and the main entree was terrible. Neither of us ate more than three bites. Maybe we just ordered the wrong thing?

We have been coming every year for the last 5 years and this year we were not happy at all. Service was good but food was not as we expected. The marinara sauce is just a can of tomatoes blended with a strong flavor of nothing like homemade. Disappointed at the lasagna and the meat sauce. Not worth the money, sorry to loose this place that was really good years before.

The evening special of the mushroom and cheese soup was absolutely amazing. Very savory, the seafood bellagio was very favorable. The Alfredo sauce wasnt my husband's favorite, but the fried appetizer combo was definitely worth the price of an appetizer. All portion sizes were fantastic.

Love this place! They sat us immediately on a Saturday night, the food was flawless and the service was outstanding. Thank you for making my birthday so special!!! We will be back!!

We ate at Casa Rustica this evening for the first time. It rated up there with the best Italian food we have ever had! Fabulous!

food was good but the chicken piccatta had way way to much lemon

We were quite pleasantly surprised. The B&B where we are staying recommended Casa Rustica for Italian food. It was a very good experience. The lasagne was very good. Angel hair pasta with meat sauce delicious. Assorted breads yummy. Would definitely try it if you are in the area.

Very good authentic Italian food, we have eaten there several times over the years while in town. Good service and reasonable prices with a nice family atmosphere.

This restaurant is absolutely delightful! If you're hankering for local Italian food, this is the place to be. A friend and I went last night, and our server (Jack) was marvelous. Our food was brought out quickly and was delicious. Casa Rustica is admittedly a bit pricey, but the quality of food can't be beat. I'd highly recommend this to folks visiting Boone! It's easily one of the best eateries that this town has to offer.

Kelly took very good care of my wife and I. She had the spinach lasagna which she said was amazing and I had the duck and to be honest I've had duck many times but this was the best I'd ever had. I will definitely be coming back and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a small place to eat with great food and cozy atmosphere!

Joe was our server and it was some of the best service we've ever received. He was funny, knowledgeable of the menu and simultaneously very professional. Although it was very busy, my chicken cordon bleu came out perfect and I loved the atmosphere. 10/10 will be coming back!!

The service was good, very friendly staff and servers. The fettuccine alfredo was par at best, and the chicken that came in it was not good at all, no flavor or seasoning. Probably won't go back, if I do I'm definitely getting something other then the fettuccine chicken alfredo.

This cozy, family-oriented Italian restaurant is a gem to be found in the Smokys. Unexpected, satisfying, and DELICIOUS. I can't think of a single thing I would change. Fabulous food; great service.

Very good...and I'm from Philly! This place was a fantastic find. Even veal prepared well. Sauces made were all very good & everything made to order! Caprese salad was as good as anywhere I have eaten (perfectly dressed).

Attended a wedding rehearsal dinner July 11, 2014. I was impressed with the wait staff, despite a capacity crowd they did an excellent job of serving the customers. The owner was there and it was clear he cares about his customers. Food was good and it was clear there were many local customers that eat there regular. I give them 5 stars. A good place to eat while in Boone.
