The staff at Carl Black surpassed my expectations last week when I had my vehicle checked in for repairs. Special Thanks to Christina Luna and Angel De Leon. Their attention and care to make sure not only my vehicle was fixed, but they also made sure I had a safe way to get home and offered me clear details as to what was happening to the car. I purchased a Chevrolet Bolt EV from Carl Black. It's a great car. If you go, ask specifically for Josh Patterson. He's knowledgeable about the electric car, and he will work hard to answer your questions and to take care of you. The dealership is smaller, which has its advantages and disadvantages. It gives you a more personal experience, and the staff will work hard to give you what you need to understand the vehicles and to give you a fair deal. I do think the people at Carl Black are honest and genuine (save for a compulsory paint and upholstery protection markup, which is not optional and expensive), and they were generally low pressure, which is nice. We did run into a problem with a lack of staffing towards the end of the day: They had a single finance officer on site, and an unusual number of closings, so there was a long wait. There was some miscommunication about how down payments could be handled (Don't plan on using your credit card, even if you are told otherwise). But overall, I have enjoyed working with Carl Black, and I wouldn't hesitate to go back to them for another purchase.
Just got in my new car a 2019 Cruz. Dowain R. NUNES, helped me out everyday till I got the keys. He took me to work twice. we kept in contact between days to stay updated. He's a great guy, Thanks for everything.
Walked in with my own financing. Walked out 6 hrs later. Took them 4 months, many trips and phone calls later to give me the second key to my car. They made promises for my troubles and I has to harass them to make good on them. I feel like they muscled me and if I could unbuy my car from them, I would. Then, they gave a nerve to be upset with me for expecting to receive what I was rightfully due. Buyers beware.
I must say I can absolutely see why Dan Riservato gets so many recommendations and I felt it is important to also share what a great experience he provides. He truly puts the customer first and makes you feel very comfortable in the buying process which I find makes him extremely unique for the industry. My 76 year old father just leased another car from Carl Black and they severely took advantage of him. He already had a GMC Terrain with 6 months left on the lease and it was way under the mileage allowance. They contacted him telling him to come in and they would get him out of his lease early and give him a great deal. They obviously had an ulterior motive because they knew they would be able to sell the vehicle he was returning at top dollar because it had very little mileage on it. In return they leased him a 2020 GMC Terrain for more than he was paying for his old one. The car they leased him has no options and is listed for sale on their website for about $20,000 but they based the lease on the MSRP of more than $29,000. On top of paying more for the new car here is only a partial list of options he had on his turned in vehicle that this vehicle is lacking: no leather seats, no blind spot monitors, no premium XM radio, no power rear lift gate, no power passenger seat, no presets for drivers side seat etc..., no sunroof, no running boards, and many others. My father is of a different generation and too trusting. He also is independent and didn't want any help with this but in hind sight I should have gone with him. My wife stopped by the dealer a couple of weeks after to drop off something and voiced our opinion to the salesman. His response was "that was the vehicle I was directed to show him." Obviously this dealership had a plan to take advantage of my father before he even walked in their door, don't let them take advantage of you. Go somewhere else.
AMAZING! Will Theiss was our salesman and my husband and I have nothing but awesome words for this guy! He helped us find our perfect car for our growing family! It was our first time at a dealership and he was able to explain everything and answer any questions we had! I totally recommend Will Theiss if you are in need of a new car! Carl Black has been the worst to deal with. We purchased a used minivan from them and have had nothing but problems getting things accomplished. Today, I have had it. When we purchased the vehicle the contract included $20 in gas, detailing, and then of course a temporary tag until regular registration came in. We kept waiting for the license plate but nothing, finally I had to go chase someone down at the dealership for another temporary because it had expired. Apparently,they hadn't even submitted to the state, hence the reason for not receiving the license plate. Then I went in to have an oil change and get the gas and detailing done. We purchased their service agreement. The vehicle comes out 2 1/2 hours later without being detailed and with the $20.00 in gas. The gas wouldn't be a big thing but it was part of the contract. At the time of purchase, the remote was missing for the dual dvd player and the second key was missing. As a family vehicle this is a pretty big thing. Nothing was done, we tried to get Shane our salesman and Kamil to get the items. I got the run around until I finally spoke with Omar. Immediately, things were fixed but it two different trips and a course of 3 months. The next time I came in for an oil change with an appointment mind you, it took 4 1/2 hours to get the oil changed and my crappy detailing job and $20 of gas. Now, today I went in for another appointment of an oil change and I spent almost 3 hours and they were scheduled to rotate tires, oil change, and wash the exterior. I got the vehicle back and it's dirty all over. I complained and asked to see Omar but he refused to come out and again I had waited hours and there is now oil all over my window. The vehicle came back worse than it went in and they don't seem to care the service or time frame it takes them. I will never again purchase a vehicle from them. I am only sorry that I did not know this when I purchased it, we purchased an extended warranty, gap insurance, and a maintenance plan from them. Not worth it. What an expensive mistake. Buyers Beware.
rude. wanted me to drop off my car for a charging cord that would have taken 5 minutes for a tech to plug in and see the green light doesn't come on. I wanted to drop the charger only off and they insisted on me waiting and leaving my car... ridiculous. I took it over to courtesy chevy and they worked with me.

Overall, they did the job-changed my oil. However, they lack in customer service skills, the waiting area was dirty and saying the kids area was dirty is an understatement. The toys were black from not being cleaned regularly. Like I said, they did the job, but did not make it enjoyable in comparison to other dealerships.
Buyer Beware!! I love GM through and through and cannot believe a sales department at a huge Chevy Buick GMC store can be run like this--with a General Sales Manager who holds felony convictions for GRAND THEFT!! And it shows in the way they conduct business. I have never experienced such an awful way of being treated & now it all makes sense...a convict runs their store.

I had a great experience buying my Chevy Spark from Carl Black. Their sales person, George Smith, was very knowledgeable with the different vehicles being offered and about different aspects of the company. After a little time with George I could tell he really cared about what he was doing and getting me in a car I'd like. It's been a few days and I'm very happy with my decision so far.
I m rescinding my positive, five star review since I ve discovered along the way they took advantage of me after the fact.I shared that I was not healthy and was desperate for a vehicle as I was facing a serious health matter, that I felt it was a good choice since I was a previous employee. I felt trust, all the way to the end, and now that I finally was able to review my contract as I am recovering, I see that was taken advantage of.
Yeah, they give you that family feel, but that s what they should be doing, right? In my current, personal opinion, now that I m healthier in having better train of thought than the moment I walked in, I feel their finance department took advantage of me by wearing me down and confusing me while incapacitated.
Also, I can share a few lies that were told by the Sales person Jack (Jackwon) along the way that I came to accept because I was happy with the vehicle in the end, but I d rather not go on cuz I m over it.
Take heed, be diligent, don t suffer the same fate, allow me to be your prime example as to why it all matters in the finance office. I was wondering why his leg was shaking so badly as we went back and forth on the extended warranty, I hate that I was so desperate. I can bet there will be a retaliatory response after editing this review, (Saying in defense that I signed, right?) but I m not surprised and I m wondering if I will face hardships when my vehicle will need service after this.

Best experience! Went in to buy my first new car and had the easiest experience. Chris Callander was the salesman I dealt with and he was great! Helped me pick out my car right away and even showed me how to drive it ( I am new to manual ). Paperwork was quick and easy and they helped me figure out the best option for financing without any trouble. Exceptional warranties and service came with the car as well.

Want to share a great experience had yesterday at Carl Black or Orlando. This is the second vehicle I purchase from them in 2 years. I was greeted by JP and immediately he showed empathy and started to ask questions in order to see what I was looking and what was my specific situation. He did a wonderful Job by showing me the car that was looking and working very had with Hector Jimenez sales manager to try to give me the maximum trade in value , all of the possible discounts and getting me an approval with GM in 1 hour. When we got to the finance department there was also a very good experience fast and efficient. Overall this was a very good experience and will recommend this dealership to anybody looking for their next car.
My experience started off with the service department when my diesel s turbo went on the fritz. The service department was top notch and replaced my turbo while providing me with a loaner. They treated me like I was a long time customer. Sean, my service advisor, even texted me to ensure that the truck was performing as it should be.
Fast forward a week and my wife and I decided that she needed a vehicle. We called ahead to make sure they still had the 2017 Acadia that was on their website and when we arrived, Leonard Willis (Leo) greeted us and showed us the car and we took it for a test drive. Needless to say, my wife loves it and we left with it that same day. Leo made us comfy while the financing and prep folks got things ready. Overall a stellar experience and I would highly recommend that anyone buy a vehicle or have it serviced at Carl Black in Orlando.
I received excellent service at Carl Black, even though I was only looking and not quit ready to purchase, the young salesman Greg Slones was very helpful and didn't mind showing me a few cars even though I stated I wasn't going to purchase that day. He never pressured me into buying a car. I told him my situation and he listen very well. He said let's run some numbers and came back with a great offer. I didn't believe him so Ishmael the Sales Manager came over and said we can do the deal. I didn't believe him and I said show me and he did just that. My experience was excellent for one reason, our Salesman. Leonard Willis met us on arrival, but not with the typical salesman attitude. He was genuinely interested in helping me search for the vehicle I wanted. He asked what price range I was looking in and then actively searched for the truck I wanted, at the price I needed. I was looking for a 2019 model with low miles in order to save some money. What I got was a 2020 BRAND NEW truck and still saved money. Leonard made sure everything went smoothly and stayed with me to the point of me driving my new truck off the lot. I'm not naive and realize that these folks are trying to make money but in this case, Leonard earned every penny of his commission. I'm not the easiest person to work with when it comes to spending my hard earned money, Leonard made me comfortable the entire time and never once tried to apply any pressure. I would recommend his service to any one looking to buy a vehicle. He's the best. Period!

The experience was great! My Chevy HHR had a power steering issue for a while. I found out that there had been a recall on the power steering so I called the dealership and they were able to schedule an appointment that worked for me just a few days out. When I finally went to take my car in, I was told the system didn't show any recall for the power steering so I provided proof that the recall did happen. After looking into the system further, John and Evan were able to find the recall and not only took care of that issue, but also took care of two other recalls on my car that I wasn't even aware of. John was extremely helpful. When I returned to pick my car up, there were a lot of people ahead of me waiting to be helped. John saw me from outside and immediately sent someone to get my car and took care of me without having to wait any longer in line.
After three cars with Greenway Dodge, I was so glad I came to Carl Black. I felt like I was family and not just a number and no matter my hurdles with my trade in, Matt Miller made it work! They were honest, upfront and cared more that I was happy in the car that I liked and didn't try to push me to into something I didn't want or put of my comfort zone. Afterwards Matt has been in constant contact to make sure it was everything I ever wanted! I'll definitely be back!
If you are retired or sick, shop somewhere else. My retired parents chose a vehicle at Carl s Black on E Colonial Dr, Orlando and could not complete the deal because of a Chemotherapy appointment. Despite the fact they placed a deposit that day, Carl Black Chevrolet raised the price the next day. Opportunistic and Rotten Business practice.
Go to Auto Nation Chevy if you are looking for actual service. This dealer is fine with complacency and it won t take you long to see this. I asked them to look at an issue I was having and I was told their techs weren t equipped to do this (electrical windshield wiper).
I highly recommend josh Patterson. I wouldn t work with any other salesperson in the dealership. Very trustworthy person, and made my entire experience amazing.
As I write this I'm sitting, waiting on my vehicle that should have been completed YESTERDAY! Maybe my prior Chevy dealership in Las Vegas was amazing because that is not my experience this far here in Orlando. Do not take appointments if you're swamped. It's unprofessional. Every time I turn around my estimated finish time is pushed back. That's not how you run a business. The only reason I haven't given them a 1 star is because the staff has been polite. Although, politeness only gets you so far. It's still possible do a crappy job with a smile on your face.
So if you expect to have a job complete within their first estimated time be aware, they lie. I know stuff happens and parts may not be on hand, but I've been given about four different times at the very least.
