Drinks were a bit pricey but overall nice feel to the place. Only stopped in for a few drinks but looked like a nice place.
A place for private parties with good food and excellent wines.
Lovely Hotel. Great views, good food and coffees and the staff are very helpful.
Superb hotel on the banks of the River Stour in Christchurch. I would recommend the live jazz on a Sunday afternoon in the bar area after a lovely lunch. 10 out of 10
Was there as a group celebrating a friend's wedding. Lovely place. Food was good great.
The afternoon tea was delicious. Really enjoyed dinning there. Will be back.
Amazing hotel. Great wedding venue. Right on the river..
Nice hotel. Stayed in a nicely decorated and furnished suite. Restaurants were good but not outstanding. The service was a little slow at times and some of the waiting staff ( students mainly) were quite forgetful.
My family and I come to The Captain's Club quite regular on occasions and the food and the service five star great live music and entertainment highly recommended
Good food and lovely setting. Slightly disappointing that now charging for parking in quite winter months
Lovely afternoon having tea and coffee with friends.
Service almost faultless, ambience excellent, food good
Busy with a wedding concert but warm and welcoming. Lovely venue and wonderful in the Summer by the river.
The best place ever. Food is out of this world staff are fantastic can't fault it
This is the best place for a spa day fanatic massage very professional and friendly staff would recommend this place for is lovely specially the afternoon tea
Loved it brilliant sitting near the river watching the boats while eating dinner!!
Popular restaurant with picturesque river view. Lunchtime food and service of good standard at reasonable prices.
Stayed here for a Christmas do, room was amazing plus got free use of the spa. Can't fault it.
I booked a 2 night stay (BB only) recently after seeing how highly the hotel rated and it having a superb location. The hotel certainly delivers in terms of decor, cleanliness and upkeep and, it really makes the most of the glorious river views with it's glass fronted design and orientation. The standard room was great, spacious, clean, well kept and very up-to-date, Nespresso machine, modern smart TV and the Bose bluetooth speaker being examples of this. Room service was prompt and the food was piping hot, so top marks there. There was nothing wrong with the breakfast, but I'd rate it a level below other hotels at the same price-point and there was an issue with a gluten-free option, that perhaps could have been rectified better in my opinion. Overall a great place to stay.
Exceptional breakfast area and setting overlooking the river.
Room was tired looking and could do with a re vamp.
Had a fabulous meal. A supererb avocado salad. Bliss xx would recommend CC highly
Four of us stayed here celebrating my brother's 65th birthday. It was superb. The apartment, the breakfast and all the staff were very attentive. I have no hesitation with recommending this for a special break.
Great place to sit by the river and watch the world go by
This is an up market Venu.
If you want chips and burgers...don't go here...this is a special place... great fish dishes and the occasional lamb or beef dish Highly recommended. Never had a bad meal yet.
Spa and massage were so relaxing then a had a lovely lunch on the terrace. Perfect day
attend meetings once a month. The service is very good. the food is excellent and the staff very attentive.
Lovely setting and been many times. Once we got over the shock of the A la carte menu option for lunch time, we had a wonderful Bar menu option. The food was excellent . . Burgers, Salads etc All very tasty. Then we moved on to the lounge area where the ambience was chilled and the staff all very helpful in getting us seats and coffees. Will be back.
Parking Charges ridiculous. Not going to return if their parking charges, which are high, continue.
Great drinks, great service. But expensive for a couple of cocktails!
Took my girl for lunch birthday lunch brilliant service as always very helpful staff nothing was a problem lovely day out graham Thomas Lynx Locks Bmth
Its a lovely place to have a relaxing drink and very pleasant place to sit
Hotel was very clean, lovely large room, loved the full window view of the river with the boats, over looking the park, parking was easy, room was ready early, breakfast had lots of variety, l chose the veggie cooked breakfast, very tasty, the staff were all very polite, excellent service.
Went to celebrate a 60th birthday party, service was excellent and great quality food. Only downside is now having to pay for parking.
Really lovely place. Food is great and afternoon tea is pretty good value for a venue of this standing.
Some drinks prices are a touch high, but I drink tea and coffee and they are brilliant quality at reasonable price.
You can also make a day of your visit by taking on a spa treatment or two. I've not done this myself but I know people that have and they love it.
Final note, they are very good at advising on dietary needs and alternatives where available.
Right from reception with the very helpful and considerate James for who nothing was too much trouble, to the fabulous suite and simply outstanding breakfast.....5 star all the way x
My wife and I have used the spa at The Captain's Club on many occasions and every time the staff are polite, friendly and professional. The facilities are kept nice and clean. The spa pool is smaller than most, but is adequate, provided there are no large groups in attendance. There is also a sauna, though I have never used it. The treatment rooms are very comfortable and the treatments themselves have always been superb, whoever is administering them.
Very friendly helpful service and not imposing. We had a delightful experience with many of the staff.
Spent our wedding night here. Beautiful food and friendly perfect end to the perfect day xx
We have been there only for breakfast. It's amazing tasty and view is just fabulous. Staff very friendly and professional. Highly recommend
Lovely riverside location. High quality food and impeccable service
Yes very nice very posh over priced, inpersonal nosy and not pleasent.
Excellent service Spa well worth a visit food very good prices not unreasonable

Gorgeous venue and location. The staff were very friendly. I was attending a wedding and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Food excellent too. Cheryl is a fantastic wedding planner who kept me sane so thanks Cheryl.
Friendly staff and delicious afternoon tea with a view of the river.
Excellent food and service not a place to be missed .
Great views over river Stour whilst sipping pleasant coffee or wine. Staff very friendly gets busy at weekends especially for morning coffee /breakfast.
Loved the food and the service. Was here on business but would like to come back again for leisure
Really nice place, friendly and polite service, nice suite with water view.
Captains club is a fantastic place with a very relaxed atmosphere. Friendly staff and Brilliant coffee as well.
SUPERB - we had afternoon tea which was delicious, beautifully served by very attentive waiters and waitresses. I am looking forward to the next visit
Beautiful location, Lovely food and drinks. All rooms overlooking the river.
Service extremely poor. Waited ages to get served then the restaurant manager was extremely rude when I went to the bar to order some drinks. Don't expect that at the Captains Club!
Excellent venue wonderful welcoming staff rooms are exquisite
Nice relaxing place to chill out in winter and of course outside in summer with a lovely cool drink.
Great location and very friendly and helpful staff.
Went here for lunch with my Grandson great veiws of river, lovely staff, he had his first boat trip on river.
A delightful afternoon tea here with views across the water. Attentive staff and more cake than we could eat!
We had to ask to be served. Then they didn't bring our correct order. Glad we checked. NZ & South African savingon blanc excellent! great location!
They have recently introduced a pay and display car park operated by an aggressive claims firm. Whilst hotel residents receive a refund , restaurant diners receive nothing even when they pay hundreds of pounds for their meals. I will not eat there again until they change this policy.
Decided to have afternoon tea for my birthday at the captains club after being recommended by so many of my friends. I wish I hadn't. After arriving and being seated, we ordered the afternoon tea menu and coffee. Food and drink arrived. The sandwiches were stale and dry, the had obviously been made well before being ordered. After finishing our stale sandwiches and very sweet cakes, my partner and I were gasping for a drink. we looked for a waitress to order another coffee and water, made eye contact with two of them but no one came over. After waiting 45 mins we had,had enough and decided to leave. We again looked for someone to give us the bill but still no one came, in the end I got up and went over to a lady and ask for the bill she was then quick enough to give us the bill. As she did I explained my compaints to her, she apologised and acknowledged that she had seen me look at her but wasn't sure if we need assistance. Let's just say the experience that I was hoping for didn't happened. Very disappointed
Lovely Sunday lunch, price reflects the location rather than the food
Excellent afternoon tea with a lovely view of the river.
