Capt. Bill's Waterfront Restaurant Review

We had a fantastic meal. The service was great. Only complaint and reason I reduced to four stars is because I had to walk to the group of five car attendees to get my keys. I felt bad interrupting their joking and stories but it was raining and my wife and I got tired of waiting after a few minutes. Seriously, these guys could care less about anything beyond what they were talking about.

I attended two separate events and had at good time. The party room has adequate space and has a view by the water.

Went for Sunday Brunch! It was amazing good food & nice spread. The Mimosas had too much juice in them making it extra sweet but other than that, totally awesome!

Just left the bar for happy hour, invited clients to meet us there. Ran a bill of $78.00 and left a $12.00 tip, the bartender Diane called me over to as me if there was a problem with the service because the tip was not enough. Really, I was totally embarrassed in front of my guest. I will never ever return to that restaurant ever again. In addition my wife and I are in the wedding business and needless too say we will not be recommending this venue!!

I took my girlfriend to dinner for her birthday to captain bill's . We bin there before and the food was great. This time the food was spectacular really over the top. My girlfriend had the rib eye and calamari and I had the skirt stake and mussels. It was restaurant week so you get a three course meal and the prices where great. Also great service and great bartender. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Although the dining room was 1/3 full, we still had a 20 minute wait to be seated

Captain Bill's never disappoints, their food is very good and the atmosphere is great. The water views are very relaxing and their happy hour is always fun. I've been going there for many years, probably one of the best in my hometown.

We had a release party here for work. Had the upstairs room which holds 30-50 people. It was a buffet dinner with a carving station. Everything was delicious. I had 2 types of salad, stirfry steak and rice, and manicotti. We had a feuitcut with lemon sorbet for dessert. The salads were awesome. One was a chopped salad with gorgonzola, lots of chopped veggies and red wine vinaigrette, the other was a spinach salad with walmuts and strawberries topped with raspberry dressing. Definitely recommend. I know we are going to try and talk my boss into having our Christmas party here.

Came here for brunch. Dishes were wonderful. Came here also to shoot a wedding. Food was okay. Seafood did not taste fresh. Disappointing considering is located near the docks.

I love this place. Great food and service and I love getting a view of the bay. One of my top 5 favorite places to dine.

Not the greatest for all that money. Ordered lobster and they only give you a small baby red potatoe with few pieces of string beans and strips of carrot for decor on a saucer. That was the whole meal for over $60 no drink or tip included yet. My friend ordered combo and was still hungry and dissatisfied with how little she got as well. They're even scarce with the wipes- one for each of us. We could have went to Red Lobster, that I don't care for and gotten more for our $ with left overs. What a rip off.

A meeting place at/near the Bayshore Marina and Fire Island Ferrys. Captain Bills has a happy hour Fridays 5-7PM during which there is free food. There is an expansive walk-around bar stand/sit on the window side, the food comes from the kitchen in the back and it can be busy.

Attended a wedding here and it was wonderful. Food was good and room had a great view Great South Bay.

Their Sea Scallops are FANTASTIC. Well worth the trip and the cost.

It a huge catering place on the water, that how it works, good for large parties

And they might have 5 party's going on at the same time. Lots of birthday parties.

nice outdoor dining right on the bay, you get a nice view of all the boats and get to eat some good food/ drinks. Definitely try it out.

We went to my nieces engagement party, if was beautiful. The room was bright, light, clean, and spacious.The food was delicious, the staff very professional. We also had dinner there many times, my husband and I had our first dinner date at captain bills 33 years ago. Nice old memories, and now new memories with our adult kids.

The restaurant was lovely! Attended a 1920s theme party and the chandeliers and space were perfect. The bathrooms were nice and clean, and the valet service was quick. The food was also delicious.
