This visit was during Restaurant week. (11-6) We were a party of 7 at 5PM. Started out good, quickly went downhill. Server disappeared for 15 minutes at a time. Seafood was dry and did not taste fresh. Prime rib not worth the $14 upcharge. Desserts unimpressive. Bill came, and it was wrong. Lastly, our server was no where to be found to pay a $ 330 bill. Seriously disappointed.

Let be honest, it's one of the nicest places for brunch. However, it's dated and the service is getting slower. Keep the hot food hot and the cold food cold. Stop putting ice on the mimosas. Simple fixes here

Baked clams and crab cakes were excellent. But the chicken Caesar salad was very disappointing. The chicken was either old or way overcooked. Waitress was mediocre at best, seemed more interested in conversation than her customers. Usually tip double on Christmas time but not able to due to the service.

Nice place, good food, located right on the Great South Bay. Great accommodations for small parties or just a nice dinner in their restaurant. Larger accommodations in the adjacent structure(Bayview House) for Weddings or any event. Valet parking a must especially during the summer season.

Treated poorley at the front desk to start. The food was not cooked properly. The Lobster pot pie was watery and the vegetables were not cooked. The carrots were raw. The sea scallops were very tasty and the portion was amazing. Unfortunately the most of the scallops were under cooked.

I can not thank the fine staff of Capt Bill's Bayview House enough for a worry free wedding for my daughter! The food was fabulous for both the cocktail hour and sit down dinner! Maitre D and waitstaff were perfect with nobody wanting for anything. 5 stars are not enough! Thanks Again

Beautiful view, relaxed but upscale atmosphere and menu. Our party of 12, for an 80th birthday celebration left happy. The prices were high, but fair. My New York strip was less than perfect. Ordered medium, it was overly charred and overcooked on the thin end. Not a big problem if your not paying over $40 for it. Then again, I ordered steak at a Seafood Restaurant.

Touted as one of the best brunch places on Long Island, but honestly it wasn't very good. Food was not impressive, there wasn't much to choose from, and the deserts were small and reminded me of something you'd get at king kullen. I expected much more--this place isn't worth if. Way better places to eat brunch.

Brought our mother in for her birthday dinner, used the restaurant week fixed price menu. Keith, our server, was very friendly and promised my steak would be cooked perfectly as requested. The kitchen did not disappoint. Baked clams, calamari and mussels were also very good.

Thank you for being flexible! I had my wedding in the Bayview house this past August 25th and Diane, donna and kelly were all helpful and fast to respond to any questions. We were also allowed a ton of freedom as far as design and decor went! I felt the maitre d could have been faster to help. We felt she was a little missing in action but everyone else was great! The food was great. We missed cocktail hour but we heard it was good. They were also very coool as far as letting me rent plates, and goblets... and letting me go the next day to clean up.We had to make many trips back and fourth because we did so much decorating and they were very cool with it. I think its one of the best hidden jems on the north fork s fareverything goes... price, looks, taste! I have been looking for 2 years to find the perfect venue that could hold over 200 people that didnt have ugly floral rug or tacky wall paper. I was seeking a black pallet and found the perfect place. It has amazing natural lighting. The enclosed tent is a HUGE perk. HOWEVER....If you want a bar tender out there for your wedding night as well as inside you have to let them now before hand. I thought it came with it but it's additional. ALSO... WE wanted an additional hour because the guests were just starting to have fun and once we finally found the maitre d she said "oh you should have found me sooner... its too late they alredy closed up the bar... before the last song even approached. It's wierd to me that you would have to let them know this so much earlier too. It would have been nice if they could have accomadted us by letting us give them our money for one more hour after planning and calling them every other week for 7 months straight. Yet I wouldn't change the venue because of this. Its just great to know before your big day comes.

Not impressive. The location is the only nice thing about this place. My salad was soggy and the calamari and sauce tasted like Fridays mozzarella sticks. Definately frozen and microwaved, not fresh. Yuck! The main course was mediocre at best. Red lobster has fresher, cheaper and tastier seafood, and that is not saying much. The lighting fixtures over the tables and the bathrooms are filthy. I would give zero stars if there were an option.

I sat at the bar, service was fast and friendly. Seems like a lot of regulars go there. Lots of conversation. Portions are large. Loved that Captain Bill's is a supporter of local community organizations like the YMCA! The location is perfect for an after dinner walk.
